Hey guys! First of big thank you once again for the continuos support on my channel! You guys are awesome. c: Now this video took a lot longer to make than I anticipated. I wanted to increase the quality of my content for this video and finally provide those button input notations you guys have been requesting! :) So hope you enjoy the video even after the wait. Now go style on those enemies! 😎
the ws2,3 combo with the microdash at the end does more damage if df1,1 is followed by confirmed uf4 against most female characters and 1 more damage with f3+4 against males (if no wall present) correct me if I'm wrong I'm bad
Just found the channel great stuff I used to be an eddy main but gave up on the char during season 2 because the char was very limiting very educational will certainly try microdash b2,4s if I get the chance
I’m new to Tekken and Eddy and I’m having problems doing some of these combos due to the “Dash” notation mid combo as a Pad player. I’m not sure if it meant double tap the forward directional or simply hold forward or something else?
Hey, Yes "Dash" means tapping Forward input (F) quickly twice. So FF. When u do this your character will start running. You can also hold the FF input, it doesent matter. Also look out for some combos where the "Dash" has to be inputted in a short delay due to the animation of that move or string being slower. Eddy shouldnt have many of these in the "Beginner" combo department though. Gl with Eddy! :D
Hey! So the major difference in excecuting microdash combos with Eddy compared to lets say Kazuya for example is that you cannot anyhow buffer the microdash. Meaning that with Kazuya for example if we think of the 4 EWGF into B2,1 combo, the microdash between last EWGF and B2,1 is done with a very quick input that is sort of buffered because you practically cant even see kazuya move in that microdash. But with Eddy, how to get the microdash consistent is by: 1) Wait until the animation of the previous move ends 2) Right after the animation finishes, do a quick F,F Hold -input 3) After you see Eddy take first dashing step, start inputting B2,4. By doing the F,F Hold -input Eddy dashes just a bit further than with just a F,F input in that time, making it easy to connect the follow up B2,4. The hardest part deffinetly is learning the proper timing, but once you figure it out you will start connecting it alot. Hopefully this helps! :)
@@seekerofdeath4324 Well this might be a long answer but ill try to make it short :D. Basically it really depends on who you are facing. But generally great playstyle with Eddy is evasion and poking. Using capoera backdash is important and punishing enemy whiffs heavily with DF34, FF3. What goes for poking from range SS4, DF2, D4, DF4 are great tools! In neutral Eddy also has FC DF4, FC DB4, DF1, Jab or 1,2,F into Handstand, D3~4. DF2 is a great tool in many cases, it should be used quite frequently. But it has poor tracking so keep that in mind. Those are the basics, but the real fun part with Eddy is finding ways to mixup from stances and getting into stances. Going into stance with Eddy generally is very risky so you gotta find a way to make it suprising. I personally like SS3 alot aswell, because if you do SS3 and hold downback you enter Relax stance, where great options if you think enemy will press are 4 that now gives a CH launch or 2, and to get lows into the mix you have RLX1,4. I also like to test my enemy in first rounds, how they punish and react to Relax-stance (D3+4) by just going to Relax and instantly standing up with DF. If they try to punish it but whiff you can mix in a whilestanding move from cancelling the relax stance too. WS3 catches people offguard sometimes, but is very punishable on block. Other than that it really is up to you, get to know all your options from stances and how to enter stances and mix them up. An example could for example be doing SS4 and holding back, which puts you into Handstand stance, then from that doing "2" and after hit cancelling it by pressing up. This gives you great frames to setup DF2 CH, you can also cancel it to FC moves. Or you can mix it up and do SS4 and press 3+4 which is a move that looks like it will end in Relax stance and it will if you press down, but if you hold back after it, you go back to handstand position and create alot of space. If people now try to punish or do anything you can do HSP 4 and catch them. There is alot of things and i really cant go throught all of em here :D But there are some examples and tips for you, and generally just try to play Eddy safe. Once you learn how to play him safe, you slowly will automatically start finding ways to mix things up and enter more punishable stances and moves safely.
@@mowb You are a saint. Thank you for taking the time to reply. I wish you were on ps4 so we could fight and maybe talk more about it. You guides and this thread are super helpful. So again thank you so much
@@seekerofdeath4324 Haha, no thank you for tuning in with my content. ^^ If you have a discord or anything we can discuss more there for sure. Also Eddy Highlights video coming real soon! ;D
Hey, sorry for late reply. Thats actually the easy part of that combo :D. But I think what is happening is youre doing the 1,2,4,3 too quickly which can cause the F3+4 to whiff. You can actually wait for quite long before doing the 1,2,4,3 and it will make it easier the connect the F3+4 into DF1,1. And after F3+4 it should be really easy to connect the DF1,1 you can even wait a bit before doing it, or you can do it right after F3+4 animation or even just spam it. Hopefully this helps :)
@@mowb he means it's very hard to understand how make instant qcf 3 after relax, I can't understand it either. Could you please expalin input? When I input qcf3 after relax he is not doing the right move.
@@Twisted_Individual Oh right, so basically in this scenario I didnt completely know how to describe the input. Basically what I ment with this notation was that after Relax, you must input a iWS (instant whilestanding) after just a couple frames of neutral to get the WS3 to pickup. So RLX,N,QCF,N,3. I'm pretty sure u can do just DF,N input instead of QCF,N input off of relax actually (RLX,N,DF,N,3). To make this combo connect it needs to be done within those few neutral frames after Relax. For some reason the iWS is a bit clunky or behaves weirdly compared to other iWS moves, so sometimes Eddy just very quickly goes into standing position and just does a normal "3", therefore I prefer after inputting the RLX,N,DF,N to just spam "3" to get the WS3 move more consistantly. Hopefully this helps :D
Lol I've phrased it a bit weirdly, you got me. :D What I ment by that is its the most optimal combo to go for in most scenarios but there is a combo with more damage and a combo with more wallcarry from the same launcher.
I've actually hit most of them online but if you mean the advanced combos, they do require excecution and you cant be too much to either side of the enemy. The beginner combos shown in the video are staple.
