I was there last night. It almost made me cry as a long time Tekken player that these Tekken pros has graced the Filipino Tekken community with such finesse and their "Tekken" prowess. It's really rare to see pros like these duke it out on my country throgh a local FGC tourney. Knee and JDCR are my top 2 favorite players of all time. I almost cried seeing them shaking hands after a match.. It happened here!! In Philippine soil! History!!!! Mad props for Tasty Steve and Markman for commentating. Tasty Steve is always on point with his comedic commentary and Markman for his knowledge of the game. Great balance.. great synergy.. nothing a Tekken enthusiast could ask for. I am crying as I am typing right now, This is a once in a lifetime event that I will never forget my whole life. I really thank the TOP 16 for making July 9 2017, easily one of the best days of my life. Let's go JDCR! Let's go Knee! Spread the Tekken love guys. :D
TheYungShaolin Ryekun is passionate about tekken, if you're not that doesn't mean something is wrong with her. I'm sure you're passionate about something.
TheYungShaolin Because I love Tekken and video games in general.. I played Tekken since Tekken 3 and followed it until the latest iteration that is Tekken 7.. God knows how long I have been watching Knee videos on youtube and seeing them pros play here in the PH gives me chills. Well, to put it simply, Tekken is my passion.
Exyrond Ekusu knee used to be or still is rly good at deathmatches and spam invited jdcr and jdcr told him he was annoying because of it. since then the war started
Great game, great commentators, awesome crowd and fucking amazing hype moments with a long awaited handshake at the end! Can't wait for Knee runback at EVO. Also: keep an eye on Book.Sick Jin, dude. Too bad u didn't made to top 8
The best tournament ever!! Damn!!! Jdcr and Knee will always be my fave tekken players in the world. The hype, the excitement and the matches are so damn good man. Congratulations to JDCR for winning this tournament but obviously knee has a lot of fans. He's so good. His combos, set ups, pokes and spacing is so beautiful to watch. Great to see them handshaking after the match. Looking forward for more of these.
renz sanvictores So you are telling that doujin is not Philippine's best player?I think except for Doujin, the rest of PB team is not as good. AK's movement is not good. But Doujin is excellent. Playing casual matches in a mall is different from the pressure at playing in a tournament. For example the pinoy player gold_standard is almost unbeatable in the Philippine mall that has is playing with. But in this rev major tournament he did not even make top 16.
There's also a lot of good filipino tekken players here in our country but when it comes to tekken, correct me if I am wrong but they don't have a chance beating these japanese and korean players. Their experience and how they handle the pressure/game in the tournament is so unmatchable. Doujin i think he's the best filipino tekken player. He's the only guy that at least can compete with these great players. In this tournament obviously jdcr showed us that he's a tough man to beat, his depense and pressure skills is so scary but when it comes to knee, knee showed us that he is the one and only legend. His gamestyle is pure beauty, really fan to watch. Anyway so far this is the best tournament I've ever seen. I am so happy that my main mans knee and jdcr did a shakehand at the end.
17:03 JDCR wins the award for "Best use of a shitty move 2017". That wasn't a taunt, that was an attempt to run the clock with the stun, but it still worked well 'cause the jump delayed Saint's approach.
That tournament was GODLIKE. The grand return of KNEE. The crowd was buzzin. Tasty Steve and Markman had me DYING with their comments the whole time. Those finals. This may have been my favorite tourney in the whole Tekken tour so far.
I know right ? Asuka was my first character back in Tekken 6, but then she was too slow comparing to my friends's Lili, Alisa and Christie, I had to main Xiaoyu instead. Though I suck at her too lol. I wonder if Asuka got buffed in Tekken 7 ?
Hieu Vu Not really. Everyone got quicker in this game. Asuka doesn't have too many quick low attacks. And considering Dimeback managed to go to Top 8 using Asuka is a great achievement. I want him to go further. I'm tired of seeing Dragunov, Feng, Jack and Paul winning these Tekken tournaments.
I respect the winner he is in his own league. but my fav still is the 2nd. place no matter what. Thank yiou guys for these amazing matches. The hype was real and you showed the world what this game is about. These 2 make me just love this game. I'll even rather watch them play instead'a playing by myself. And that just shows how great you are!
Doujin did well, but I wonder how the crowd felt upon seeing the last Filipino player get eliminated after taking a considerable lead. I also must give it to Dimeback for his impressive comebacks.
filipinos love rooting for the underdog. against jdcr, knee is the underdog. jdcr has many fans too and friends. if you look at this tournament the korean players are in group and buddies, while knee is alone.
Akira Toriyama2 hahahahah dumbshit you calling knee underdog hahahah thats the most funniest thing i have heard in my life and dont get jealous that your boy jdcr doesnt have fans in phillipines and knee is a god in phillipines knee deserves that honour and love he gets from the phillipines crowd calling knee an underdog to jdcr can make you banned you dumbshit knee is not alone at all he has a worldwide following and he is the leader of his own tekken gang clan in korea and look at his buddies chanel and chikurin and there are others also
Taimoor Mubashir It is you again crying. You are following me lol. I am a Filipino, so I know that Filipinos roots for the underdog. JDCR dominated Knee in vsl1 and vsl2. JDCR beat, Knee in winners finals. Knee also lost 10 straight tournaments at Tekken 7. So it is logical, that Knee is the underdog against JDCR. Against other players, Knee might be the favorite, but against JDCR(or maybe Saint) he is the underdog. Don't be an idiot. Use your brain and not your butt hurt emotion. LOL. I am from Philippines, JDCR has many fans in the Philippines. Also, Knee has bad personality and does not have good relationship with MOST Korean players. KkoKkoma even sued Knee over something. Channel is the only one that hangs with Knee. Now with Channel, Knee is improving his personality.
i don't know if guys aware of this or not tournaments apart knee is top Tekken player in Korea players domination decided by deathmatches and knee has most death matches in his favour knee also send many invitations to jdcr for deathmatch but jdcr refused all by saying knee is crazy now they are seeking towards friendship :)
No. There was some bad blood between them. Apparently, Knee challenged JDCR to a deathmatch but the latter declined. At one point, JDCR called Knee a "no life".
By far, this has been the most hype i've been watching a Tekken 7 tourney besides this years CEO. I hope EVO is as this hype and as a plus, have Aris commentate along side ether Tasty Steve or Markman. Hell, why not all 3!
It's a surprise that AK, the Filipino Child Prodigy, got eliminated early on by a random Japanese player, and didn't even make it to top Top 16. Then again, he's had his time during the last few years. It's clearly Doujin's time now.
i noticed when nobi was playing jdcr he kept doing df,2 that were whiffing when im sure they were while running 2. ive had that issue when using a new stick
Renato Pinheiro yes bruv i really wanted knee to be sponsored it saddens me to see that knee is not sponsored while other travels and play like nobi saint jdcr and then there is knee who doesnt have sponsors and compete in international tournaments look now that knee makes a big entrance in this rev maj look how far he go he takes 2nd and jdcr barely won the match against knee's feng just imagine if he gets a sponsor and travels the world how amazing he would be he would wipe jdcr and other players asses too easily after some tournaments
this year is kinda jdcr year, he won so many tournaments this year. All left for him is to win evo and KoIFT in the same year just like nobi in 2015 and saint in 2016
The winners finals were so much better then the grand finals. It had everything! The GF's was kind of anti-climactic. but jdcr and knee are just on another planet in terms of skill. And the commentary from tasty steve and markman was S+ tier. they were hype as fuck! a
I hate how the suggested videos on the side bar spoiled who would make it to top 8 and grand finals. Not saying that I couldn't guess it'd be Jdcr vs Knee lol
Crimson Skye That is not a problem. That's where the bulk of tekken 7 consumers will be playing the game. I personally only know a few people who have the game and only fewer still who play it at a half decent level, and all play online. It's ridiculous and short sighted to think offline play is needed or an environment one has access to. Online tekken gamers is what is keeping this game alive outside of Asia
He's generally one of the harder characters to play in the game. Same reason you dont see many Mishimas. The level of difficulty. JDCR plays Heihachi as well but will only pull him out if he's really really feeling on point, otherwise he sticks with Dragunov. Great characters, very hard to use.
