ITS LITERALLY THE TIMES SQUARE OF THE BIG APPLE XD. I feel sorry for the street performers, commuters and food trucks thats gonna be victim to the fighters' brawls
I like how they are differentiating Asuka from Jun. Originally, back in the "Jun is dead" days, Asuka was brought in to replace her. However, in TTT2, you could start seeing the differences, since they were both in the game. And now that Jun is finally back in the mainline series, they've differentiated them even further.
but they failed, instead of a more face to face functional hybrid of the Kazama fluidity with power she is just hitting like a truck losing grace, agility, and dexterity, they made her into some Bryan 2.0, a complete dissaster.
@@dontbothertoreply9755 I always thought that was the whole point of differentiating Jun from Asuka. She's a "gang mediator", her moveset is bound to incorporate reckless and brutal moves similar to street fighting. compared to jun's swift and graceful moveset
I really like how her moves transitions from quick preppy stylish strikes, moving in with a sporty stride, and then a complete 180 with the heavy brawler infighting type blows. 😘👌
Shes a street basic girl but shes a kazama , and shes used to fight , she might be the one controling kazama fight style and street one together in the best way
I like how fluidly she switches between Kazama-style techniques that are graceful and precise, and these big haymaker punches and kicks for maximum impact.
What character development? It's just a new quote that shows she has remained a brash hypocrite since Tekken 5. Your comment looks like that of a paid actor's.
Really loving the new voice work for all the characters. Her new animations and new voice work just lends into the idea that she's a brawler even more. Really good stuff.
Idk y but SF6 seems to have better graphics & artstyle. Tekken 8 has got these wierd white outlines on characters & most edges 😐 during gameplay. Guess SF6 got better lighting.
Pretty cool how you can spot some moves being shared by all three Kazamas. I noticed both Jin and Asuka has that "dive kick" attack 1:11 , except Jin uses his Devil to it.
Everyone has some kind of launching kick or knee or whatever move into a divekick now. Jin has one, Lars has one, and now Asuka. And Master Raven (if she returns, or could be the male Raven instead, whatever) has QCF+3,4 which I guess it counts too
Woooow!!!! This was an OUTSTANDING trailer!! Had to pause numerous times to analyze all these beautiful techniques! What a destructive style! Asuka is awesome ✨
I like how there’s emphasis on all the character’s abilities and utilities. The Kazamas have some sort of light based-magic or aura, the Mishimas have more electric attacks, Law uses nunchucks, Nina uses pistols, Jack 8 uses more weapons, and Leroy uses a cane.
Jun was the only Kazama to have straight up light. Jin used his demonic aura mixed with Mishima lightning, and Asuka seems to be using wind here. (At least that's what her attacks here seem to have, idk for sure, lol)
I was worried that my fave Asuka wouldn’t be in this one now that Jun is back, but I’m SO thrilled to see her looking amazing and kicking butt as always!!! 🥳
No way Asuka every gets dropped. She is literally just a step below Jin and Kaazuya in terms of importance to the franchise. Its the same with Law, Paul, Xiayou, Bryan, King and Jack Literally the only one possibly on the chopping block were always fringe or new characters who has moves that are interchangeable. Like Bruce/Fawk/Josie Marduk/Armor King Eddie/Christie Raven/Master Raven Or Less popular characters but still gonna come in dlc or main roster Like Lei, Feng, Lee, Julia, Lili, etc. The bottom of barrel Ganryu, Wei, Yoshi, Shaheen,Claudio, Lucky Chloe who probably might not see the light of day
@@richter9485 I could see the other characters you mention not making it, but you crazy if you think Yoshi isn't making it, he's og and has been in every Tekken
As an Asuka main, I'm loving the revamped aggression shown here! Definitely what she needed to stand out from Jun! She'll definitely be scary to press buttons against if she still has her defensive options as well.
Yeah, absurdly annoying personality with moves, that makes her play literally different game. I guess after 1 year of playing T8 I'll just dodge every Oskar
@Sam Butler. She will be, though whether she will be there during release or as a dlc character is yet to be seen(if there is leaks, i haven't seen them)
Actually she's been hinted at in this exact stage. If you watch closely you can see her one of the billboards. Thanks to Twitter they where able to find the image of her. She's on the little billboard with the lipsticks and also the billboard with the giant red high heel. She's gonna be in Tekken 8
I love that she finally looks and feels like she wasn't just Jun's moveset slapped on a younger model. Her personality, and just how hard her style is compared to Jun's soft style is fantastic, her unique identity is really shining through and I love it.
Asuka looks awesome and it was a nice surprise seeing her trailer right after Leroy’s! Her design looks amazing and her move set seems like a lot of fun! I love the impact behind her punches and kicks! I’m looking forward to what she has to offer!
I like that Jun's style is more graceful and poised while Asuka's is very heavy hitting and aggressive. It mirrors both their personality and distinguishes the two Kazama style practitioners.
Asuka es mi personaje favorito desde que aparecio!! Me encanta su estilo de pelea, que combina la elegancia del estilo Kazama con golpes brutales de pelea callejera, simplemente es hermoso 💙 Ojala se vuelva mas importante en la historia principal
She *NEEDS* to have a big role in the main Mishima bloodline story. She is Jin's cousin and Jun's niece. Her Tekken 5 ending showed how she was the only character able to cleanse the Devil Jin showing her huge potential in the story (They dropped the ball obviously). Despite the Devil gene under his control, Jin may still need the support of another Kazama.
It will be jun who plays the part of the cleanser and a big part of the story along with xiaoyu. Asuka will not play a big part and will be comic relief along with lili again. Her Tekken 5 comic relief ending was just that, a comic relief Easter egg showing the unconscious natural power kazamas have that Jun has essentially mastered. I'm not sure why some people think asuka has a place in the wider story when she literally never has, her introduction was only about beating feng to begin with
sadly, that's a fact. To nail it down, even Jin doesnt recognize her. Maybe Jun will notice her, but I kind of doubt it. But as of right now, she's the Sakura's to Lili's Karin (the classic female Street Fighter rivalry)
Harada has seriously destroyed the entire Tekken series when it comes to storytelling. It all went downhill after T5. Remember when Nina showed empathy and saved Steve? Yeah... in T7 that was gone. That storyline hardly ever continues.
Just from the trailers alone I feel confident they did my girl justice. I was worried when I saw Jun that Asuka wouldn't be back or that they would be too similar. It looks like Jun's moveset is far more graceful while Asuka, in true Asuka fashion, is a bruiser. Now I look forward to playing both.
The moves look a lot better, but I have no faith in her story importance. I mean, Law is still broke and using the foreclosure storyline. The man has been broke since Tekken 2 or 3. If you aren't a Mishima, chances are that you don't matter to Harada.
@@Reofenja I gave up on anyone's story relevance a long time ago. I mean, Panda exists. I was just worried that Asuka wouldn't be in the game with Jun's return. Historically Asuka was supposed to be Jun's replacement and took a lot of moves from her. The dev team made it their mission to weed out all the clone characters and give everyone their own unique fighting style with the exception of Kuma and Panda. I'm just happy that Asuka and Jun are made to be very distinct in this one so that they can both exist. I want to play both.
@@dearikj90 To be honest, I am not happy. Since Jun was the originator, I wanted her to have those movesets as she was my main back in Tekken 2/Tag. So when I saw that Jun was back I was very hyped, but then I saw her moves were different.
@@Mastabacc Who is to say different is bad? Make that judgement after you try her. "Why not both?" Is how I see it. Jun's moveset comes across as more graceful and gentle while Asuka is a physical bruiser. I think they managed to differentiate them nicely.
I like how the three kazamas use the kazama fighting style in a unique way. Since the kazama fighting style is mainly a defensive fighting style that focuses on defense it mainly has to be mixed with an offensive style. Jin mixes his with the Mishima fighting style as his offensive style, jun uses traditional karate for offense to complement the kazama defensive style and asuka just uses street brawling as her offensive fighting style to complement her Kazama fighting style. Gotta love it. Also I hope they finally reveal how asuka is related to Jin. We know they're related since they have the same last name and asuka also uses a variant of the kazama style but it's not confirmed yet how she is related to the kazamas. Also that scene from one of the past games, I believe it was the Lars ending showed asuka at the family dinner between the Mishimas and kazamas which confirms she is indeed blood related to Jin. Eventhough that ending is a character ending hence not being canon it still shows asuka with the other blood relatives shown between the Mishimas and kazuyas. They didn't include the non blood relatives like lee who is heihachis adopted son meaning those were all blood relatives in that ending.
I was with you until you said Jin mixes Kazama MA with Mishima-Style MA. The entire reason present Jin isnt Tekken 3 Jin anymore is because he ABANDONED Mishima-Style MA, and, adopted Karate. Have you never played Tekken 4? The only resemblance to Mishima-Style MA is when he has the Devil Gene active.
Correction: Jin mixes Kazama style with Mishima karate in Tekken 3, then switched Mishima with Kyokushin karate from Tekken 4-7. In Tekken 8 it seems to me he mixes Kazama style with Kyokushin, Mishima and Devil Gene powers.
Oh man, I'm just seeing so many possibilities with this character, I thought I might switch up coming from 7 but it looks like I'll be learning and maining Asuka again for the next 7 years hahah. I love the tekken community, see you on Steam folks.
Asuka just looks so fun and revitalized as a character, doing all those extra flips must be the Lili influence, the glow up for her is insanely good Lili trailer coming soon hopefully :D
Namco ,she is great ,what will make her perfect is to finally acknowledge her relation to jin and jun kazama , if we go yet another game (the next ten years) without talking about it im going to lose it 😂😂😂, its been 18 years come on! 😂
I knew without a doubt in my mind she was going to make it into the game. I just hope she gets to be a part of the main storyline, or at least interact with Jin and Jun. Seriously we have had Asuka in so many tekken games and she hasn’t officially canon wise meet Jin or Jun. Both having her family name and using her family fighting. For the self proclaimed peacemaker, I can’t see her look the other way due to Kazuya shenanigans make another World War, but also people directly connected to her trying to fight against it. If she doesnt take part of the main storyline, I’m gonna be really freaking surprised.
@@yoshi9538 As enjoyable, as that ending was. It’s not canon. Because Jin Tekken 5 ending is canonical to the series. Asuka and Jin have not interacted with each other officially. But I’m willing to take a front row seat and share some popcorn with you because it’s hilarious moment.
@@amazingandy7373 It was not canonical, but it hinted the possibility that Kazama females can negate the devil gene. She probably doesn’t know since she wasn’t looking at Jin. But my guess is if she’s part of the story, then she’d become Jun’s pupil in suppressing Jin’s devil form. It would also mean that Jin will introduce himself to the rest of the Kazama family. It will be funny if Kazuya also appears and fights the whole Kazama family for the child support that he owes Jun. It would be even more awkward if Jin’s uncles from the Mishima side joined as well. Lars feeling out of place, flirting with an android in a corner while everyone else is tearing the dojo apart. I can already picture Lee taking a sip of wine and say “Excellent!”
Agreed she’s been wasted potential since her first appearance in 5 I’ve always though the exact same thing tbh she’s a kazama and has the angelic powers of jun she needs more importance in the story
I hope so too. But realistically speaking, not gonna happen if Lili has something to say about it. And wherever Asuka goes, she sure as hell will follow. Just look at what happened to her and Feng's rivalry - gone, forgotten about and replaced with Lili by the time Tekken 6 rolled out. I really, sincerely want to be wrong on this one, and I don't even play Asuka.
I was really scared (a little sad) thinking that Asuka wouldn't be in Tekken 8 due to the reintroduction of Jun... but I can not believe she is in and just completely blown away by how good her redesign is, her new moveset and Rage Art is fantastic! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH TEKKEN TEAM!!!
I could understand your worry, since they are "trimming the fat", so to speak, with this roster. BUT, not only is Asuka a veteran by this point, her fighting style is completely unique to her now since Jun's TTT2 incarnation revealed how differently they fight when next to each other. It actually would've been weird to not have her in tbh. Now we have all Kazama's in a mainline game. Great time to be alive.
If they keep it traditional, each character will have an alt costume and then some because of customization. To me, it's definitely the weakest of her two main outfits so far but maybe it'll grow on people.
@@Beforezzz Maybe. Most people didn’t accept Paul’s design at first, but he’s grown to be one of the most hyped up characters in T8 right now. Let’s just hope we can say the same here.
It's like Asuka's saying "oh, Jun's back into the mainline? Good! Now I can be my own self!" and I love it. I know Asuka always had her own move and animations separate from Jun's, but you can totally feel that she is TRULY her own self now. I love how much more of her own personality and character are in her attacks and animations instead of mainly in the lore and voice. It's like Asuka doesn't have to follow in her footsteps anymore as basically her younger replacement. I'm just so happy with what they did with her, and it makes me happier with Jun returning too.
WHOA, they literally just decided to throw Asuka's old defensive playstyle out the window and let her have all these new heavy hitting, in your face/flying attacks, I really dig it and the new outfit a lot, it makes Asuka WAY fresher (though I bet her counters and parries are still in just downplayed for the trailer). Plus, FINALLY she gets new voice/battle line recordings for the first time in AGES! So now that's three characters I love out the gate, Jun, Xiaoyu and Asuka. Now I just need Alisa and Lili and I'm off to the races when T8 drops! Super excited for this game now. (And yeah, I can totally see this new change in fighting style being an influence of Lili's... um.... 'obsession' with her, lol)
I'm glad that they markedly differentiated Asuka's movements from Jun's just like they did with Nina and Anna. This gives both characters the opportunity to be in the same tekken canon game.
Jun: You're a failure, niece. You were supposed to keep Jin's Devil Gene in check while I was gone. Asuka: Waaaaah sorry Auntie Jun! It's just a blondie from Monaco is obsessed with me...
@michaelrobosa146 When you put it that way, you're right. I guess when they said no clones, I took it literal. Glad I was wrong because Asuka plays really fun here. I say this as a Jun main.
Omg….now, both Jun AND Asuka will be in a canonical Tekken TOGETHER!! I could literally cry tears of joy right now! 🥲 Asuka looks AMAZING! Tekken 8 truly has the potential to be the BEST game in the entire series!!
As a King main, I totally agree with you. She’s the most awesome looking release so far imho. I think he has the second best rage art after Ling’s. It isn’t too dull like Leroy’s, and it isn’t too flashy like King’s is. It’s perfect for her.
Nice to see Asuka back. One of the few I was waiting for since I played her briefly in T7, although it looks like her playstyle MAY have changed a bit. I don't know if I love the outfit but I LOVE the Rage Art. It might actually be my favourite so far, or tied with Xiaoyu's. Mostly waiting on Dragunov (my main) and Lidia now.
Asuka has always been my favorite female in the series. Loved her move set and the personality they gave her. I’m just hoping they tighten up her frame times a little more this go around. I want to see more of her in comp play!
Me as the Asuka Main just want to say that I hope Asuka has a pretty impactful Role for the Story tho, Especially She was a Kazama too same like Jun and Jin, Asuka definitely needs to get involved for her development and also Lili and Eliza could probably do something in the story too But again, This was for Asuka, no complaints thank you 😌🙌✨💙
I agree, she was the one able to heal Jin, not Xiao, she was the one who had the balance back but they fucked it up, same with Hwoarang who should have been the new protagonist, same with Lili who should have been the main force against them a place was given to Lee because of the memes, the story is bs by now.
