What's with all the dislike bombing? My video is mostly positive. I want fighting games to have: 1) A really good and decently long single player mode. 2) The characters to be more balanced with way more moves. 3) More defensive options so the combat feels engaging at all times. 4} More gimmicky and fun stages to give players a break from the constant tryharding. 5) Better marketing practices from the companies. I didn't call Tekken 8 boring because it's a below average game, but because as someone who has played Tekken 3 and Tekken 5 a lot, i just don't feel like investing time on a similar game to those. The game is good, but i feel like i have grown out of the genre and unless it increases it's quality by a lot, i will keep dropping fighting games after 1-2 weeks.
I think because they confuse criticism to insults. That's my guess. I agree with most of the point that you made on this video, including better marketing business from companies like Capcom and Netherrealm. I'm also not a big fan of how they handle the arcade single player mode recently, as they don't feel the same as it was back in the day. I also think you change the title of your video. Maybe that's another reason why they're confused.
@@aboodash9008 Thanks for the feedback. I expected better comprehension from the so called hardcore fighting game community, but then again they are the same people who continuously fall for the scummy marketing and lazy title pumping. I could have the same title in a video made after a year ago and no one would have a problem but since it's a topical title, people thought i would be focusing on Tekken 8. My title is still accurate to my video.
Let me give you a tip for the remaining on your life. When you put up a video dont assume anything. The people will react how they want and not how you want them to react. You got more crap than you deserve reading all the comments but i notice you handle criticism also bad, badmouthing back at every comment. If you cant handle the heat get out of the kitchen @@SolonGaming
@@bartsimpson7529 I was trying to talk some sense to them because they clearly lack it. Also you must have eyesight problems if you see comments of me badmouthing at criticism cause there are none.
This is quite possibly the worst video about fighting games I've ever seen on RU-vid. You CLEARLY don't have a lot of knowledge about the thing you're talking about. - Zoners, Grapplers and Rushdown characters are NOT the only archetypes (Shotos, Puppet characters, etc.) and Stance users is also one of them. - The idea that all characters should have a Zoner/Grappler/Rushdown mode is just dumb and it wouldn't also make sense visually since Grapplers are usually big and slow while Rushdown characters are nimble and quick. Devs SHOULDN'T make it happen - it would make the characters less unique. Plus, learning matchups against different archetypes is part of the fun. - There are also tag & team-based fighting games that add more strategy & variety to the process of picking your characters. I have more problems with this video but I won't waste any more of my time and energy naming them. Honestly, it was painful to watch.
Actually would be pretty fun a character that can change the style transforming itself for a momment, would be a very cool mechanic... of course is nothing related to the video itself
I said those are the MAIN archetypes. The archetype changes based on stances can be unique and each character can still excel at their own stance/archetype. Your strategic options shorten a lot in the tag & team-based fighting games once one of your characters dies.
Basically a skin for T7, imo, it's even worse than T7, graphics are too flashy and overdetailed compared to older games, T5 still stands higher, disagree with you on that
There are definitely improvements and since it came out recently, i am sure they will fix most balance and bug issues as well. I mostly take the word of the Fighting Game Community about Tekken 8's quality, it's not like i played it more than 20 hours. Also i haven't played T5 for like 10 years, so there is a possibility of me not remembering it's actual quality. You could be right, but that would mean the vast majority of the FGC is wrong. Thanks for the feedback anyway.
@@SolonGaming keep doing what you are doing, your reviews are a breath of fresh air everyone praises w/e bs devs are coming up with it's hard to find anything that's bashing crap constructively with a healthy amount of good ol toxicity, lol
weird move putting an arena fighter in the thumbnail, you'd be hard pressed finding a fighting games player who considers those an actual fighting game
I didn't even say it's bad, i said it's better than Tekken 5, but it barely adds anything new. The Fighting Game Community should raise their standards and demands. The genre used to be one of the most popular ones and now it's niche. It needs to draw in players from younger generations.
@@SolonGaming Seeing how Fortnite and COD literally prints money from just having someone popular in it, i bet Def Jam would be instant hit if EA actually bothered to do with that kind of games anymore
@@SolonGaming but that's literally what Def Jam was in PS2, a fighting game with it's own story but they are starred by rappers. I find the story in Def Jam Fight for NY to be quite interesting, Snoop Dogg as a mafia boss in final mission, our player is a custom character that was on police escort onto jail, but escaped, i don't remember much details, but the story and game itself was pretty cool, there are some branching choices in some missions, and the progression is cool, your crib gets more trophy as you progress, atleast hundreds of moves to learn in the gym or earn from opponents, SMS to receive from friends or opponents. But again, knowing modern EA, it's more than likely a new Def Jam game wouldn't be that good. I miss these early 2000s games with their experimental games and absurd combinations, like a fighting game about rappers. If you're looking exactly the same game without the rappers or celebrities, there's Urban Reign, it's basically the same gang wars type plot fighting game, but more linear than Def Jam.
@@AhmadWahelsa I am not against the idea or anything, it can definitely work marketing-wise. I am just saying generally people need to have a sense of quality instead of following herds due to popularity.
i never understood these 2D fighting i may not be skilled enough but amount of clutter these game has instead of challenge and skill full placement like brawhallah or smash bros
Racing, Immersive sims, and Stealth tactical fans would like to have a word with you.... No one tries to make cool experimental racing games like vehicular combat back in the days, everyone is busy with festival racers. Immersive sims is as dead as it can get with Deus Ex being cancelled (again). and aside from Ubisoft with Splinter Cell / Ghost Recon and Kojima himself, it's on life-support now.
I will make an indie company and i intend to make Stealth tactical games very similar to the good old Metal Gear Solid games. I will be presenting my ideas in my videos.
Fighting games are in another golden era especially because of street fighter 6 dude what are you talking about? Third strike is not the peak of fighting games dude it nearly killed off the franchise and four had to rebirth the entire genre again and six is the greatest fighting game of all time and it’s not even close. Third strike is the worst selling street fighter game in the main title. Fighting games today are bigger than it’s ever been. What are you talking about dude? You sound like you’re repeating garbage of what you heard some vocal nostalgia crowd say and this is coming from somebody who started in the arcades back in 92 fighting games today, especially because street fighter 6 🐐
No way this is a second golden era for fighting games. It's the same games with minor improvements. I am not saying the games are bad or anything, i still enjoyed SF6 and SC6, but they are lacking when it comes to single player mode and the micro-transaction policies must stop.
Lmao. As someone who grew up playing fighting games i can tell you get used to it slowly and steadily. I remember every time i come back to playing a fighting game after years of staying away from them, i get hand crumps until i slowly adapt.
the new tekken 8 is great as a new player its the most fun that i have ever had in a fighting game, feels better than mortal kombat and street fighter, and most players 94% of the reviews are positive
Honestly I don’t know how you could be bored by a fighting game as well designed as Tekken, I’d say fighting games are the most engaging and skill based games I’ve played. My personal favourite franchise of fighting games is guilty gear, your point about the learning process is very accurate, GGS has a great single player tutorial that teaches the basic and advanced mechanics of guilty gear and traditional fighting games in general. I don’t agree on the RPS point, a well designed grappler has the tools to deal with a zoner, for example Potemkin from GGS who has a super that travels wall to wall allowing him to close the distance and has gap closer move.
Tekken has barely evolved after T5. It relies on knowledge checks and guessing a lot. After playing all the old Tekken games and growing up with them you kind of get bored. Plus Tekken 8 has the new super attack mechanic that is game breaking. It executes with a single button and it has super armor meaning it's a free kill shot. It should incentivize skill more than that. Yes a well designed grappler has the tools to deal with a zoner, but we need more tools to deal with all kinds of zoners and we need the zoners and rushers to have just as many tools as well to have a game where all the characters are almost equally viable and interesting to play and master. They don't need to be stances, that was just an idea.
@@SolonGaming I’d say GGS is a very well balanced game, I feel like I could choose any character learn them and succeed, there are some tricky matchups that need to be learned but any character can counter them in some way. There are some counter picks, for example my main is a puppet character that relies on minions that she has to place, if she gets hit or blocks an attack the minions disappears, there’s a character who has a hitscan projectile that travels full screen who counters her perfectly which is very hard to go against but is doable.
@@MakioGoHardio I played GGS and i got many opponents playing May and spamming TOTSUGEKI. Not a very fun experience. The game itself was fine though. I prefer SF6, Granblue Fantasy Versus and Ultimate Marvel Versus Capcom 3 over it. I never got too into it or tried to master it because i remember famous FGC players like Maximilian Dood calling it a casual game. Could they be wrong? Maybe i should give it another chance.
@@SolonGaming yea you need to learn how to counter that move, there’s two versions of it, one is faster but minus on block, and the other is slower and she can be hit out of it if you react but it’s plus on block if it hits. I’d recommend you give it a shot, it’s a pretty fun game imo and all of the characters are unique which can be said about all the Guilty Gears.
No archetype automatically beats another, and they exist to create very distinct characters that players identify with. I play rushdown characters but i love fighting grapplers because it feels like a boss fight.
@SolonGaming I think we are too obsessed with balance in games. It's more about the fun factor. The drama of a low tier pick winning against an S tier character is exciting and can even reshape the perception of the character. Yoshi in melee is a good example.
@@thearchaeas There can still be some very low tier characters and some super bosses which would be part of the story and single player challenge, but the vast majority of characters should be balanced. Overpowered characters should be banned from tournaments or they get picked by everyone.
@SolonGaming actually yes its less the argument of tekken and more of fighting games as a whole we have full blown story modes massive amounts of customization accessibility options allowing all of the community to play now until recently fight games was such a niche market due to the high entry level needed to play
