@@roadman_abz488 When he goes into one of his stances it is a bit slower I think but has a tiny bit more range or something like that isnt it? It's 6 frames outside of the stance I think

I dont think flash is a launcher anymore, it might just be me but i cant get more than a 14 frame move off of it.

See this is how Yoshi keeps getting away with it. The move is so forgettable for being as good as it is.

​@@ZenkaiwavI think he means that when you press forward, instead of focusing on inputting the sliding motion for the down forward, try to focus pressing 2 first instead. The reason I think that's what he means is that people often comment that the ewgf seems easier when you try to imagine yourself pushing 2 before the down forward input instead of in the middle of it

Good tip, also putting on command history to see if you are doing the 2 to late or to early helps!

btw for anyone here on a console, just go to accessibility and map forward/back to a different button. Easy electrics after that ;)

It was the same for me until I forced myself to use d-pad, I do way less mistakes when I use d-pad but thats just me

I prefer analog stick too. But for particular reason other then the fact i find the dpad very awkward to use at least on an Xbox controller. It also feels way more fluid and fun to use then the dpad for me. Arcades often use joysticks so even if dpad is better ill just use that fact as cope

It’s arguably the best move in tekken so yes it has to be hard to execute to balance it in theory kazuya would be the best character in tekken if everyone could punish everything punishable with electric for full damage and perform df2 pewgf every time

It's kind of just a matter of practicing the timing, I remember when I first started to do it I thought I'd never be able to do it consistently and that was when I played on pad but I just got better and better! Some people find it easier to time the electric if they map the triangle button to R1 on their controller! I press the 2 button just after I start the sliding motion on pad if that helps at all

Turn on your command history and pay attention to the input frames. On arcade stick, there's a df angle which allows registers down for 1f before df so the way forward would be to find that angle and practice your electrics from there. On pad that same angle might exist on the D-Pad(definitely does on the analogue), so you pay attention to the command list and see what way positioning your fingers to do electrics brings the most consistency for you... If you're lucky, it will also be the fastest way you can do it(i.e not the actual fastest way in terms of perfect input, but good enough).

Good to hear :) I got my omni back in 2013 😅 I just had a look there and didn't even realise they weren't selling them anymore It's a great stick very sturdy and you wouldn't think mine is over 10 years old! You didn't send them an email enquiring about one? Maybe they are bringing out one thats compatible with the PS5 now

@Dianatroda Aye I probably should've sent an email, I'll do that this evening. I just use a traditional japanese lever and it doesn't feel like it springs back to neutral very quickly. I can do single CD and EWGF some what consistently but chaining them is tough. Just have to keep at it. Anyway, brilliant guide!

hahaah using the pad for some reason makes my finger tired super fast while using the claw grip, and the stick came yesterday and surprisingly i managed to nail a few electrics right away!@@GhostsGraveYT

For kazuya and reina yes! Better to learn the way with the down first as its universal to the other mishimas and will also help when it comes to learning wavedash etc

Keyboard or hitbox is in my opinion, I'm just reluctant to change as it is a big learning curve and I have been playing on stick a long time!

@ru-vid.com I am using triangle on the d pad. Some people also map triangle to the L1 button as they feel it helps when everything is done on one hand so you can try that to and see which one works best!

Flash is faster indeed but wouldn't be a traditional launcher in the sense as the opponent has to be attacking/make contact but yes it is faster (so cheap at times 😂) Steve's b+1 is 13 frames which is the same as kazuya/Reina PEWGF and the fact that it's counterhit means it can't punish etc!

What do you mean by stance version?

@@bignoob2726 3+4 stance, hold df to cancel into red eye stance(forgot the name), then just press 2 for ewgf.

@@bignoob2726 no one hit's every single ewgf and the only reason it's not as good as just straight up hitting the second ewgf is because you have to go into stance and essentially plan on hitting.

@ru-vid.com Are you inputting it as fast as you can? if you tap forward on the d-pad, and immediately press 2 afterward, it usually lines up perfectly for when your thumb slides to down-forward to get the electric

it is possible, just takes a loooot of practice, people take years to get good at getting an electric capable of whiff punish, switching timings, counter hit, etc. See your command history to know where you messed up

Nah pad would be better for you since it is familiar. An arcade stick is extremely hard and it depends on what you're comfortable with because some stick has different sensitivity that even moving it slightly the character will move

Stick I think offers higher highs and lower lows. Im a god when it comes to execution on p2 side, but whenever I get side swapped it feels like my gameplay becomes noticably weaker. Understand that stick is a time and cost invesment as well. It will not feel natural at all at first, and there might be chance that you end up getting frustrated, especially with movement and defense. If youre willing to except these factors, then its most definetly possible to achieve great heights on stick in comparison to pad, but in the current landscape of fighting games id actually recommend a hit box. Has the ease of use of pad and allows for the fast execution you are likely after with a stick. Buuuut.... if youre still insistent on an arcade stick more power to you. Its a rewarding and just plain fun input to master. Theres also a passionate community around stick modding. If youre looking for a good entry level, prob go with a mayflash f500 that either has the standard japanese sanwa parts, or is moddable to swap those parts in. But of course if you have more to spend then absolutely get a qanba obsidian. Best stick ive ever used and many tekken pros love it. When I first started it took me a good few months to get consistent with it. I was told back then that I needed to play on stick to take mishimas to the highest level possible but this isnt the case, you can easily do this on pad or hitbox either! But if you are willing to put in the time and effort I would recommend a korean stick, I use the etokki omni Korean edition :)

You'd be surprised how many people dont haha. Also god I hope im lucky enough to get an ettoki but I cant find a decent new one for sale on reputable retailers. I've been wanting to make the jump to korean lever for awhile now, and im ready for the challenge of more precision but also more room for error with a gromet instead of a restrictor gate. I think my best bet is either the nacon daija or swapping out my sanwa on the qanba with likely the ROX dragon knee lever. I heard pretty good things about it and it looks so sick

@hunchosett Do they not still sell them on the etokki website? I got mine in 2012 so I'm not sure if they are not producing them anymore? But that being said I know it cost me a good bit at the time but well worth the investment as I still have it today and its working perfectly!

Practice as much as you can and it gets better over time. Just try out the different timings and make sure you put on command history in practice to see if you are inputting the 2 to early or to late!

Reina also a much stronger character than Asuka. Asuka received way too many nerfs in T8. Definitely among the worst characters in the game currently sadly.

@Shadowsmoke11 yeah I seen she got nerfed hard for some unknown reason, she wasn't really strong before that so not sure why they went for her at all

No you wouldn't be skipping the down forward and you need to hit the triangle at the same time as downforward

Just keep practicing you will eventually get it!

Someone commented here saying that after they tap forward they immediately hit the 2 and it lines up nicely with the down forward! Are you doing the movement fast enough?

I used sanwa at the start and I much prefer the Korean stick, I feel electrics, wavedash and backdash are so much smoother! But that was just my experience with it I know a lot of people prefer the sanwa stick or the k stick

@Dianatroda I've been playing paul and dvj since tekken 5 with sanwas, but I want to try korean Stick since my friend recommends me one

@Isaac-ry3ks My first Korean stick was a crown so it would be a good choice I think It's not to expensive of an upgrade either!

It's just the same as when I bought it, I think I will change the grommet in mine soon though as its lost a lot of it's resistance

Also can you go into detail about what a perfect ewgf is? I assumed it was just an electric with the fastest possible input, but i don't see how that would exclude Jin, Devil Jin and Kuma from doing it

I would just try and relax a bit more in a game and not focus on winning to much but just improving and taking what you did well in a match and what you didn't do well and work on it!

Are you hitting 2 and down forward at the same time?

Left side is very tough and took me a while to get good on it. My best advice is to force yourself to play on the P1, that's what I did and now I prefer P1! Just practice doing it slowly on P1 in practice as its your whole hand doing the work compared to the P2 side

@Dianatroda yeah, the funny thing is I normally practice/play p1 side, and it feels more forced after a couple hours of playing. Whereas p2 side I never train and electrics come like nothing. It's weird. Just gotta keep working on it

Yeah the xbox controller is not optimal for tekken at all! There is alternative pad controllers you could look at getting that are made for fighting games and are not to expensive!

I have never used a hitbox or keyboard before so I can't really do a guide for them! I do know that using hitbox is a big advantage for tekken though so I always thought would it be worth learning it 🤔
