*Quick Update* I tried doing some labbing with Lili stepping LEFT (she steps right in the video), she still can't SS at +5 Giant Swing, BUT, she can side step the Muscle Buster. However, char's with average movement can't side step left either at +5. Just so you know!
they removed the homing grabs and gave king a wavu so that you use the wavu to realign. so now mastering your crouch command grab throws are even more important now

I was doing his 10 frame punish into throws even before the patch. So yes, I may not get you a few times, but you will be command thrown before the match is over. We shall adapt!
There are more broken heroes than king. For example yoshi. Ling nina. But they nerf king and throws in general so low rank ppl dont complain about him more
@@kingcombo9799 Its not about how hard is character to fight. If u play 1 char a bit it will be like normal thing to fight with that char. Fighting decent yoshi is rly bad. As he can use that flash shit move and counter any attack and launch u. If yoshi is dencent he will do that rly good in rounds and comeback you from any hp. And i forgot to mention lili
Just want to add that ALL throws that include any kind of movement before the throw grab animation itself are also tracking. This includes all throws accessed via jaguar step, jaguar sprint, sidestep, or with a built-in crouch-step
Though I find it strange they didn't include Standing Heel Hold and Arm Breaker as well. It's weird that the chain throw starters with an included crouch-step get tracking, but the ones accessed via an actual crouch dash don't. I hope over time they make throw-tracking a more varied spectrum. It would be really cool to see something like Tombstone and T-twister each tracking to opposite sides, so its worth using both despite having the same break. Could also be a cool way to make some throws which are more or less obselete currently relevant again, like Knee Bash, Figure Four Leg Lock, Clothesline Press, and Pile Driver
Im wondering if they secretly adjusted frames on muscle buster? Ive been having issues with it since v1.04. I swear i was getting it more consistently prior.
You have to be pro to play him 😢 They really f*** him up. No more set ups. Everyone spams stuff like crazy and here they took so much. He had no frame advantage before but now it sucks
Yeah, it's totally absurd. Played ranked after patch and had the clear sensation that other characters were allowing people to constantly spam without a single window for punish, even on block. Before patch I could at least use B3 or Heat Burst to stop spammers from spamming, now B3 only connects sometimes (and it's not as scary as before) and Heat Burst has become practically useless. And they said they were going to buff defense? Give me a break.
@@giulius_99 King has no damage extension with Heat Burst while others can just spam like crazy to get more combo damage at wall. Kuma in particular and yet only we got nerfed. Noone played King at Evo except JON because it's slow character without frame advantage and they still managed to nerf him. Good luck. Thank you Jesus my ps plus ends in 4 days and I wont be touching this BS for a while. I will be watching guides and LilMajin to see how pro can handle this nightmare. Ehhh good luck tiger mask people! I hate this patch.
@@enrikekasijas705 I feel you bro. I literally uninstalled the game after this post-patch experience. King got a totally random shitstorm and Bandai did fan service, while characters like Jin and Xiaoyu remain broken as f*ck without receiving any nerf. Not to mention the absurdity of Kazuya's and Paul's buffs. People used to complain about 21 buttons (so not that easy!) grab chains that you can break literally any moment by mashing the right button, and then there's Paul that can erase 40% of your health bar with a punch and gets buffed.
@@giulius_99 dude that's the most annoying thing. You can blindly spam 1 and 2 to escape throws and they cry about that while we have to find an opening to grab enemy. Everyone is plus except King btw but we have to feel the moment and input some crazy command to have a chance to start grab commands xD if we fail we have to suffer full 90 damage combo while in avarage throw chain can take maybe 60 before they run like b**s. Kuma takes like 100 damage at wall if you watched last event JON vs Rangchu but they buffed Kuma even though additionaly no comobs work on it. Ling Feng....ffs Ling can dodge MID and ffs Lows!!! And they buffed her. I am going to spam such posts because it's obvious Namco does not think and take something with grain of Salt...if there is a post they take it for granted and nerf whatever somebody put on Internet. It's such a joke ffs. Ehhh

Hi, did you test the same throws sidestepping to opposite direction? I think muscle buster and giant swing doesn't have more tracking, you are just sidestepping in a favorable direction to those throws.
I was wondering about this too. Tracking definitely isn't the same on all non-homing throws, so it stands to reason that it also wouldn't necessarily be the same to both sides.
I tried them all with a sides step right- because this is historically King’s weaker side and so the way most people will step King. Haven’t labbed with sidestepping left yet but will do when I can
The table is a "average best side" based on each character most used moves. But still there's a favorable side for sidestep for throws with animations with right hand or left hand in front

Yeah I tested it too (with tombstone, giantswing and muscle buster), same result. I think we just discovered the "magic number". If the difference of frames from throw is less than 5, it can't scape even if you sidestep correctly 😁
He’s trows (1+4) are fast now … thanks to the buff wave dash they add , even easy ( at this point what is not easy in tekken 8 cristal gen edition ) fast like the one from armor king … that’s a huge leap Fast Deals a lot of damage Not “easy” to break like AK
The people that are saying King is dead are either noobs , haven’t played him in the update yet or just looked at the title & commented without watching the video.
Struggled a lot to get from beginner to Mighty Ruler. Played today after patch, got relegated twice, going back at Shinryu. I practically never won an FT2. Uninstalled the game.
Probably just on a bad day, plus there will be a lot of strong/legacy players playing at the moment to see how the patch goes and testing stuff etc. Perhaps after a bit of a break you’ll want to come back on the grind! 💪🏻
@@beigemaster I hope you're right. I recently made new friends in real life thanks to Tekken, but at the moment I just feel frustrated and not willing to play ever again. Today I felt like all the grind to become a decent player (this was my first Tekken) has been totally erased by this bulls*it fan service patch.
This is mostly just a copy and paste of a post i made earlier, but i feel like its important that people take off their rose tinted glasses towards King. King is the greatest loser in Tekken. He's lost far more than he's gained at this point. In T8, he lost so much Oki its insane. He lost a ridiculous number of setups, throws, guaranteed hits, multi-throws, and he can't even multi-throw crouching opponents anymore. They removed multiple unblockables. He lost fun moves like his old ff+1+2. They butchered his movement. His moves were replaced with far inferior versions with his old ff+2 and his old irish whip being removed and replaced with worse stuff. His old irish whip guaranteed damage, setups, wall splats and wall combos, while the new one doesn't. Now nothings guaranteed from it. He lost so many floor grab opportunities from his old irish whip being removed, and losing his rage drive was a huge nerf to his floor grab game, too. His new unbrakeable throw has the irish whip animation and every time i used to talked about how i liked his old irish whip, People always told me it sucked and nobody would ever get hit by it because of how easy it is to see. So his new unbreakable throw being locked behind a running animation and an irish whip animation has to make it even worse by that logic right? 😂 His new ff+2 has some of the worst tracking in the game and its so slow it is pretty useless. At least his old ff+2 tracked so it had some use as oki. His old f,hcf+2 used to track to one side i hope it at least still does... King is being ruined and has lost a decades worth of progress. I love how they removed so much from King in T8, but whenever i mentioned it, people would tell me to stop crying because King has tracking throws... 😂😢 13:27 Kings tracking is pathetic... King might even still be okay with the new crouch dash nerf. Since hes apparently unable to crush highs from what ive heard. My point isn't that he's bad. It's that he's lost so much it's insulting to King players.

Sorry but nah I gotta hard disagree. I understand re-learning the matchup might be a pain, but king benefits less than any other character would from a movement buff, simply due to the tools he already had. He already has Jaguar Sprint as the perfect tool to close distance, and force a mix-up between an unbreakable grab, a low-crushing, homing, wall-splatting mid, and a safe mid launcher in heat. On top of that he just generally has a lot of moves with REALLY long reach, like f2 and ff2. Also WR2+4 was a nightmare to deal with at range if the king player has a good read on your timing, since if he's already running it comes out at 10F. Wavu is hype as hell, but it doesn't actually add all that much utility king didn't already have.
@@drongodyle3156 Nah. It'S like King being the Devs favorite. because untill Purple/Blue almost nobody sidesteps. Im shinryu now and NOBODY sidesteps. not even the flame rulers so the not homing throws doesn't matter untill blue rank... And now king has S tier movement on top of what you mentioned with Throw and really strong mid, low, launcher etc.. 50/50s. I've spent almost 1.5 Weeks labing King throws and moves because i hate fighting against king and now i have to do it again almost pointlessly due to the infinite amount of 50/50s king has now.... so whenever i fight King the best thing i can do is to put down the controller and see him spin around like Xiaoyu, wavu like mishimas, run towards you with armor WHAT HE CAN CANCEL ANYTIME, and wait for the infinite amount of mixups he can throw at you.... So yeah. King is now multiple character in one body...
