These are some creative and cool combos, and I've picked out a few I'm trying to learn; however I have a suggestion for future videos. Maybe toggle input history in the future, for noobs like me, when I fail a combo string (for instance the df+2, cd+2, df+2 input) it would be really helpful to be able to see the frames, so I know if I'm really close to the right timing or if I'm way off and need to change it up. Otherwise a great video, Reina is a lot of fun!
Damn thanks for the combos those are really useful ^^ If I may add one to the Wall combo section: While rising 3+4 is -8 on block and +13 on hit so in the corner you get with 2,2,1 or df 1,2 or perfect electric a full wall combo with it. So a nasty set up is getting a heat engager like ff2f, 4 go in crouch there opponent expects hellsweep maybe as you crouch and Bäm while rising 3+4, 2,2,1, B4, 1, D4,1 easy 59dmg combo with a safe launcher and you still got heat + also nasty for wall/balcony breaks just as one example :D
@@MishimaComplex thanks and with the + frames from the heat engager it crushes pretty much every spam if mid or whatever (besides rage art >_>) But what's also nasty about this set up is to just crouch in your opponents face if they block after the heat engager (vs ppl with brain who don't mash straight away) to make them think your stupid - they try and press a button - and you hit them with the wr 3+4 ^^
Some really cool combos, the only part I'm struggling with are her low attacks, she seems rather limited in that department but that electric war god kick combo seems reliable and a surprise for the opponent, I don't see that move often.
In heat, you can do CH HW 1f, SEN 1+2, HW 2f heat dash, electric, df2, df1, f2,3f, df1f, SEN 1+2, HW df, cd 1,4 for 93 damage. Without heat you still get 65 damage.
My favorite launcher that i have been using which will go wall to wall on her stage and allow a wall combo is. Electric > electric > df2 > df1,1 > f2,3f > df1 hold forward > 1+2 > 3,4 > dash to wall into uf 3+4, 1+2 or df4,2,3. Does 78 damage before the wall and 89-91 with wall combo. Also breaks the wall where you can heat burst into d3 > 4f (sidestep stance into heat dash) into her electric kick, will do 108 damage. Still trying to see if i can get her to wall carry from center to the wall in the collisium stage but can only get to 3 steps from the wall, so close lol.
I love this video! Thank you sm! Question, do most of these need the electric or if you accidentally land the normal hit can you still continue the combo?
Is there something missing in the first combo? I notice after the DFK you throw a LP before getting into the part where you press RP 3 times could you help me understand what I’m missing?
0:27 Can you get DF2, EWGF, DF2 like you showed here reliably? Does it depend on how close you are or just timing? Been trying for over an hour and a half and can't get the perfect EWGF to connect to the second DF2. Not being able to buffer electric makes me think its a really frame tight combo but idk. Hope you can help me out Great guide, thanks a lot for posting!
Is the third combo still doable? I cant seem to land the df2 after the electric. Is it just an extremely tight window or am i just fucking the input up? Edit: landed it a couple times with a wgf but with the ewgf the df2 still isnt catching looks almost as if its pushing them to far away for the df2 to carch them im very confused..
Hmm i think reina is easier to use if you don’t play her like a regular mishima, like no eletrics, hellsweep etc etc. Just since she has better strings and more tools. But imo kazuya is an easier character in terms of the mishima playstyle. He has a more simplified gameplan than reina. You need to use alot of reinas moveset to make her viable which is not so much the case with kazuya as his playstyle relies mostly on the mishima tools like wavedash, hellsweeps and electrics. And you will often use a handful of his best buttons pretty much. So all in all i’d kazuya is still easier in terms of the mishima playstyle. But reina is easier for a beginner to play as a regular character as her gameplan isnt reliant on the mishima tools as much as kazuya. Any mishima experts feel free to correct me if im wrong😅. Hope this helps!
HW and SEN refer to her Heavens Wrath and Sentai stances, so if it says SEN1+2 it means press 1+2 while in Sentai stance. The star means neutral (let go of all inputs) 👍👍
Yep the timings weird, I'm not convinced that its a "fast input" as the tool tip suggests, I think its just a specific timing, let me know if you figure it out!
@@MishimaComplex It's a 1-frame press on 2 with no gap before 1. Legit more consistent sliding a finger across the buttons than using two fingers at once
HW means Heaven's wrath, so HW1 would be pressing 1 while in Heaven's wrath stance. WS means while standing, which means inputting a move during the animation between crouching and standing. Let me know if you have any more questions! :)
very good video, but i find hard to consistently the first heat combo, the heat move just doesnt connect most of the time @MishimaComplex i dont know if im fucking up everytime or its a just frame combo. love the video tho 🙏🙏
is there a trick to land the heat move at 2:40 ? ive been stuck for that last hour trying to get the R1 to land but for the life of me it always misses
The 3+4 of the FF3+4 needs to be slightly delayed so you get the max forward travel, also depending on the combo a lot of the manual heat burst combos only work on males 👊
I've been trying to work on my electrics, but it's kinda hit or miss, y'know? One day I land a couple in a few minutes and the next I can't do any for hours. I'm especially having trouble getting one right after df2 like in that combo at 0:22
Yeah that one’s tricky, you need to time the EWGF right as the end-lag from DF2 ends, otherwise the DF2 will eat up your inputs if that makes sense. Don’t worry that combo isn’t super necessary though!
Try DF2 into electric a few times to get used to DF2’s recovery frames. Recovery frames are slower than EWGF so it’ll often eat up the start of my EWGF input. You also need to input the EWGF pretty quick for this combo. Let me know how you go!
It’s pretty tight timing, if the EWGF isn’t coming out at all it’s probably because the end-lag of DF2 is eating up your input (the EWGF can’t be buffered). If you’re getting EWGF but it’s dropping at the next DF2 then you were too slow. Don’t worry too much this combo isn’t super necessary! 👊
@@MishimaComplex i just love the hard combos! Im a yoshi main so I don’t take it to heart that I can’t land these Reina combos. Rip heihachi I miss my boi.
A lot of the combo routes and fillers are similar or exactly the same - with some practice and muscle memory you’ll get there in no time! Keep it up man 👊
This is not a guide. This is a showcase. A guide is where you suppose to teach the combo, specifically the timing. Yes, I can understand the notations, but if you don't know the right timing even the simplest combos don't work. I struggled so hard to do her tornado move (df4 2 3) and nobody tells when you are suppose to click the 2 and 3. I had to figure it out myself. Not a very helpful "guide". Nothing personal.
ahh i see for me this is a guide, to you on your experience this is not a guide but a showcase we can make this video better if have some timing on it right? i will look reina combo that actually have a timing for that thanks
I've been playing Tekken for a long time, and it took me an hour to pick up some of these combos so don't feel discouraged. It's all about grinding. I recommend looking at the combos the game provides you to do. Might be easier, just less damage. There are easier characters in the cast to pickup also. This is definitely one of the harder characters
I'm at my end here, at 2:38, I never seem to be hitting the Heat after Reinas Un Hien-gero before the enemy hits the ground. Please lmk what the issue is. What's the exact step I need to follow or know to hit the target on the ground?
I’ve been playing for like 14 hours on launch day with story and Reina. I feel like I’ve been learning a new language. I wanted to just make launch day Tekken day and then rest the following days 😅
I somehow got 72 over 65 on the advanced df2. I think you can do another god step in between the heaven's wrath cancel and god step 1 4. I canf get the first part consistent enough to test it and the window is super tight it seems the few times ive been able to hit it to test. This could be possible with the other one's that end that way too but idk. I may also be missing something that got me the damage boost.
I might be missing something but the stomp when used as a wall combo is punishable on hit if they do the toe kick seemingly. Testing in practice rn, is the twirl animation she does after cancelable in any way?
For the 3x EWGF combo, how exactly are you getting the DF+1 to hit? Feels like I hit the dash buffered EWGF, but DF+1 doesn't connect and when I try to delay the 3rd EWGF, it just whiffs. 😅
hi new player here. If take my time between EWGF I can do 50 in a row, but when I got to link two or more it all falls apart, usually get bunch of unwanted df2😂. Any tips?
Don't stress it, keep at it; having EWGF into EWGF on lock obviously is a nice to have, realistically it's not going to make or break your matches. Just do your 50 b2b daily whilst you focus on accuracy and keep your in-game combo's somewhat simpler; once the motion is truly set and ingrained into muscle memory just make sure to to reset to neutral in-between your inputs and you'll be golden. Now, if you're already truly comfortable with the movement, say you're new but come from other fighting games the process becomes much simpler as I went through this myself; what I think happens is that EWGF's inputs cannot be buffered, all you need to do is make sure you're completely recovered before inputting the second EWGF. The same is true for when you punish with EWGF, you need to be completely recovered from blockstun before you start inputting. From my, arguably limited and definitely unscientific, testing you can buffer the first forward input of a dash > EWGF; the second forward input, which both instigates the dash and serves as the first input for EWGF, cannot and thus needs to be timed manually as stated above. I do want to stress tho, there's a huge difference in being able to do 50 in training mode and actually confidently pulling them off in game; the latter should be your gauge in terms of how comfortable you are with the input. Compare it with a hammer; sure after you've hammered down a nail you "can" do it, that does not mean you're comfortable with a hammer. When you're comfortable with a hammer you don't think how or where to grip it, you don't need to visually align it with the nail, you're not thinking about the fingers holding the nail and you instinctively strike with the right amount of force; the hammer unconsciously becomes a part of you, it's usage as natural as using your hands and breathing.
