TEKKEN 8 - Reina Mishima Devil Gene Awakening - Secret Ending 

I still love that they can still make the arcade endings just as ridiculous as the older games.

The way she stands up with the lightning flashes behind her is so reminiscent of Heihachi in DR opening.

Kazuya's Devil Gene awoken after the near death cliff toss. Reina's Devil Gene awoken after Kazuya's fatal laser. There's gonna be a weird explanation on what Heihachi was doing during Kazuya's death.

I look forward to seeing how they explain Reina having devil gene or if it's artificial. Because Heihachi doesn't get the devil gene (according to Tekken 7 and earlier Tekken). And unless Heihachi had a separate wife who had devil traits, I don't know how this is working lore wise.

Basically shes a science experiment of heihachis when he was trying to figure out how to take power from others like ogre and devil gene. Reina goaded kazuya into attacking her to absorb enough of his power to cultivate the devils power in herself. Creating a new devil gene host

Reina was already scary strong, she was giving True Devil Kazuya a fight and was tanking his hits. Now with no Devil Gene with Kazuya or Jin it makes me wonder how they will deal with her. Maybe she may even bring them together to defeat her. Bravo to Reina though for playing the long game and showing that Mishima will to never go down.

I will say this much about Rena she has definitely become one of the best breakout characters to come out of Tekken in a long time. She definitely has her father’s personality (Heihachi) not to mention a little bit of a Yandere complex to her own kin, however I do see some traces of Kazumi inside of her which leads me to believe that she could be Kazuya’s elder sister. The reason why I believe this is because Heihachi in Tekken 7 had supposedly had killed his wife and this also leads up to how his son had blamed him for her death. But we also have to take into consideration to that Heihachi had been experimenting with the devil gene, and also his father Jinpachi was cursed by Kazumi’s bloodline, to you know how it works. So who’s to say that the head matriarch of the Mishima clan was using his resources to find out more about this power and that he could have taking her to a special lab to conduct his research on Reina and make her his true successor to the Zaibatsu. Because when you look at it she still looks to be like that of a high school girl compared to her nephew (Jin) and brothers (Lars Alexanderson) and ( Kazuya). If there is going to be a ninth installment to this franchise of a game series then I would love to see her as a new protagonist instead of an antagonist.

She could be G-Corp's version of Steve Fox, they had the devil gene on hand (Kazuya's corps) and a scientist from that project with them (Leo's mother) so it makes way more sense that she is Kazuya's daughter/Clone/Tube baby, she behaves like him anyways

Just unlocked this ending after figuring out where to lose to Kazuya lol. This definitely explains why she was studying Jin when he was going through re-awakening his devil powers. Her epiphany was "near death/death like experience". How she is Heihachi's daughter no idea....Maybe Test tube baby?

My theory on how she has the devil gene is that Heihachi extracted DNA from Kazuya and used it to create a lab baby in the similar manner that Steve Fox was created via Nina’s DNA, which would be a success and Heihachi would groom her to be a insurance policy of sorts if he were to meet his demise.

Reina gave herself to the Devil Gene, gave herself to the dark side.

It feels like something's missing. Kazuya, Jin and Reina all were close to death when their Devil Gene got triggered. Kazuya when Heihachi threw him off the cliff before Tekken 1, Jin when Heihachi shot him in Tekken 3, and Reina when she got hit by Kazuya's laser. The desire to stay alive at that moment seems to be the trigger. Since Jin and Kazuya destroy each other's Devil Gene in Tekken 8, it's still established that you have to carry the Devil Gene. The trigger part only adds another layer to it. The missing piece is the identity of Reina's mother. Heihachi doesn't have the Devil Gene, so the only way this works is if her mother has the Devil Gene. Reina's mother can't be Kazumi. She's way younger than Kazuya, and might even be younger than Jin who is 22 in Tekken 8. That would mean that Heihachi met someone who carries the Devil Gene between Tekken 2 and 3. But at this point he'd know better when it comes to the Hachijo clan, considering what happened with Kazumi, so it wouldn't make sense that he'd get together with another Hachijo. Willingly, at least. So maybe... He met a woman from another family who has at least one parent coming from the Hachijo clan? Much like what happened to the Mishima family with himself. This is all just speculation though. One thing's for sure, the identity of Reina's mother is the missing piece here.

Wasn't Steve supposed to be an experiment on making an artificial Devil Gene? Could Reina be the final result of that program?

The problem is why does she have a devil gene? That didn’t come from Heiachi but from Kazumi (kazuya’s mom) so if she is the daughter of Heiachi and has a devil gene that means that Heiachi impregnated another Hachijo, that means two things, Heiachi didn’t learn his lesson and two: the devil’s blood and devil gene isn’t entirely gone from the world and it’s still there also Jin was able to defeat azazel before but that didn’t even put his power at ease, plus I think that the clash between Jin and Kazuya momentarily turned off their powers instead of purging them for good. - 1 because of Kazuya’s extreme “”evil”” cursed Jin’s form - 2 for the power of deputation purified Kazuya’s form I really hope that the Tekken 7 final form comes back because other than the Tekken 2 form that’s the second most iconic version of kaz because let’s face it it looked powerful still maintaining his features also it didn’t need any external power ups to beat Akuma so that was amazing. If they decided to purge the devil out of kazuya and Jin that would be a meh choice to me because the whole point of them is the fact that they’re devils, to be frank I don’t know what’s happening with the return of Jun I think that Kazuya might be in a trance state after loosing his powers so his evil self or maybe jun just returned Maybe to match her role of irresponsible parent with Kazuya because if she was alive all this time….where the fuck was she doing? Jin needed her, kazuya needed her and the whole war and victims could have been spared if her spirit form showed up earlier What the fuck Jun

What if reina is the perfect heir heihachi was trying to make, kazuya was corrupted by the devil gene, Lee turned out to be a bit daft (and had that weird second persona), lars became a brilliant military tactician but lacks the strength to take down devil kazuya and Jin, Jin was corrupted by his devil gene, so maybe reina was lab grown to counter devils

These are all Kazuya level opponents mind you, this is the same Heihachi who beat Kazuya WITH the Devil Gene in T2. Dude was running a gauntlet i think he actually did something similar in this game while in a weakened state. Jin is a fucking beast, Kazuya too of course im sure if Kazuya or Jin pushed themselves to the limit like Heihachi did before Kazuya killed him they could take her down individually without the Devil Gene

This Reina girl.. She's reminds me of a mixture of both Cao Cao and Sima Yi from Dynasty Warriors.. Being a combination of both Wei and Jin.. But her spirit and character reminds me of Lu Lingqi aka the daughter of Lu Bu..

Harada has a lot of explaining to do in Tekken 9 since 7 established that Hachijos carried the devil gene and Jinpachi was just possesed by some ghost or some shit. The only clue is when Kazumi said that all the destruction to come was due to Heihachi was set in motion for all the characters to get their devil gene. Him having an unknown daughter feeds with the same evil ambitions feed into that but still doesnt explain how the gene is showing up in the bloodline. Lore is starting to get goofy.

Theory: Reina is a scientific byproduct (cloning and genetics) of Heihachi Mishima's attempts to replicate the devil gene and make it a weapon. However, it turns out to be a failure since Heihachi cannot make her as powerful as Kazuya and Jin.

Mishima bloodline doesn't carry the devil gene it's the Hachijo bloodline. This can't be a mistake , but right now doesn't make sense unless she's actually Kaz's child not Hei's.

And finally she is not Kazumi's Daughter she's too young. Reina mother is just another woman who happens to have the devil gene, which Heihachi didn't know about.
