Tekken 8 Season 1 Trailer Reaction | Lidia Sobieska Gameplay Reaction 

The bow between Jin and Lydia is SUPER significant. Jin’s mo-cap was done by Ryu Narushima, a Kyokushin Shihan (6th Dan Black Belt) Lydia’s is done by Tatsuya Naka, a Shotokan Shichidan (7th Dan Black Belt) Each bow was the bow of their respective style of Karate. This is even more significant since Jin only started using “traditional karate” (Kyokushin) in Tekken 4 where he first forsook the Mishima name and “unlearned” Mishima-Ryu. It’s such a cool acknowledgement because of not only the lore, not only the characters, and not only the styles of karate, *BUT IT ALSO IS BASICALLY 2 REAL LIFE KARATE MASTERS OF DIFFERENT STYLES GREETING AND FIGHTING EACH OTHER* Man, I love Tekken. Edit: that does make the OSU at the end a little weird since that’s a Kyokushin thing but then again every martial art kinda stole it after Kyokushin made it popular. And that stance that Ken pointed out is pretty popular. Most media calls it the “heaven and earth stance” and it’s usually a variation of Sochin Dachi, sochin itself having Nekoashi-dachi, Fudo Dachi, kiba-dachi, kokutsu dachi, moto dachi, and even Hangetsu dachi variants! That said, she’s really just using Mawashi Uke and making it into a pose for the sake of it. Mawashi Uke is the probably the most important hand-defense in all of karate since it encompasses so many principles in one. Pretty awesome stuff!

Lidia is actually a returning character from Tekken 7. She is really one of the "good" inclined people in the series. I loved that they added the notebook thing at the end, it really makes her stand out. I didn't play her a lot back then, but I think I'm gonna love her in this.

So Lidia was introduced as DLC for Tekken 7. She is the Prine Minister of Poland and uses an actual real form of Karate called Shotokan Karate. Hence why she has a special intro with Jin because he also knows Karate (Kyokushin Karate). When was first released, A LOT of people loved her for both her design and her gameplay, and those same people are really angry she was relegated to DLC again when she should have been in the base game. Personally didn’t use her a whole lot myself, but I am glad she has such a large following, because that means Tekken did real good with this one. Also, did you actually watch Eddy’s trailer? I know you saw the teaser of him that was included with the Tekken 8 opening when it got released on RU-vid, but I don’t think you actually watched his gameplay.

Lidia is a character from Tekken 7, her lore was she was against the Mishimas for a very obvious reasons (war crimes for example). She is the Prime Minister of Poland in the Tekken universe. Not gonna lie, she should be in the base roster. Her bio on T8 was she formed an alliance with Yoshimitsu as he will be gathering information for her. She ordered Yoshimitsu to find Eddy Gordo, who was her acquaintance and family friend and they never see each other for 10 years (I never know Eddy and Lidia had a bit of history, that surprised me.). And there is kind of a hint if you listen to either Raven or Victor’s endings in the character episodes. What if the lady that Victor was referring to was Lidia all along? (I don’t want to assume, but who knows?) I mean I want to see Victor and Lidia working together against Kazuya. The Story mode DLC update will be free (not sure but that’s what I heard), and it will release around Autumn. I think most of the Season 1 DLC characters will be involve the story, but what I’m waiting was Jun’s perspective in the story since she was revealed to be alive all along.

She is Sobieska bcs we in Poland has different gender version of last name. Man- Sobieski, Woman- Sobieska. And the idea for this character was born by the creator based on our two women who became prime minister in our country in 2014-2017. And Sobieski was our famous king who opposed the expansion of the Turks and Tatars in Europe and helped save Hungary in 1683.

Don’t know if you missed it or not, but did you do a video for eddy?

I “think” the new story DLC could be focused on Eddy’s chapter, but because they teased showing Jun in the altar again (before she wakes up from her many years of slumber), I wonder if it’s more than that. Maybe we could see Jun waking up and finally realizing the war between the Mishimas. Also it looks like Jin and Eddy are bros now, after Jin is done being the villain in Tekken 6 & forced Eddy to work for him lol
