Red and Purple ranks are the most unorthodox. They rely a bit too much on flowcharts and don't know how to actually Tekken... It can really throw you off. Obviously flowcharts are worse in high ranks, but still

I started tekken 5 months ago and rn max rank is battleruler on drag, I still get massively overwhelmed sometimes when someone really knows how to mix up neutral pokes. Also knowing all the optimal combos depending on wall position and stage wall breaks is still a lot for me to learn lol

As a Tekken God of Destruction and Brawlhalla Diamond I have this to say : In brawlhalla people get punished for mashing, in Tekken you get rewarded for mashing lmao
Imo it’s because defence it’s much harder in tekken, I’ve only played 60 hours of brawlhalla and 420 hours of tekken so I’ve got no pngs to back up my opinions but as a fan of multiple different fighters I think tekken still takes a lot more skill just to operate the character. The mind games in tekken remind me of EA UFC but everything is much more precise in tekken (in terms of inputs lol). I may be biased though because I’ve played about ~400 hours on smash bros ultimate so playing brawhalla feels like playing valorant vs counter strike to me.
Yeah I saw that as well. I used to be a smash Player and I was surprised how much they mash, especially DURING a combo. The explanation of the player I asked way "Yeah he might Drop his combo, it's normal to mash there". I mean Yeah, but you can also look at the screen for that. 😂 I used to play a mash char in Smash und I mash less in tekken than most of my opponents for some reason 😅
