Brings back memories, but now I find myself amazed at the backgrounds they used. Machu Picchu; a beach with some crumbled down Big Ben clock; those infinite mirrors... love those ideas. They need backgrounds like that again.
I like how Wang's "Spinning Sweep Combo" is used to both start the juggle and continue it at 3:19! Also, Nina and Jun's death combos from 3:57 - 4:07 were very awesome!
man i love this game...it was my firsst tekken and i bought it from a friend...the reason i bought a play station...the game i learned to "read" my enemy :D
@rogal19855 Not really. I think that was one of the game's flaws. I mean, to win, just use a character's most powerful, noncharge-up move, and your opponents health meter is like halfway done
Lei Wulong i dont think we could tech roll. they also took out the backwards roll when your facing away from your opponent face up on the ground you could do in tekken 1. only side steps were heihachi and kazuyas (moves that are still part of their arsenal), and everyone could jump super high. still a great game with a legendary soundtrack, story, and characters...
"Proof that Tekken is already a juggle fest from day 1." Proof that you never played Tekken 2 in it's prime. I rarely see people pull these combos, even in tournaments back in the days. And these juggles are harder to pull in this game with clanky controls and combos really need precise timing unlike TTT2 and T6. Pull a simple launcher and you can easily pull at least a simple 5 hit combo. It wasn't until Tekken 3 that I saw people pull juggles regularly.
suiken Yeah juggling from Tekken 1 to Tekken 4 was pretty hard and for the most part impractical. it's wasn't until Tekken 5 when juggling became much easier and very common
To be honest, I don't mind doing juggles, but If I am doing story, they are probably unnecessary because in reality, it's better to battle with an opponent normally, because that's what people do. I mean, why do people do juggles anyway?
No my friend... tekken 6 was the joke. Look at the creativity this guy has shown with these combos... nowadays its all about just winning and button mashing rather than actual skill... this is a throwback to when the game was at a slower pace, which therefore requires you to plan your attack.
Blocking is instant in Tekken 2 so you must not have a good grasp on the mechanics. There's a lot more to it than using "a character's most powerful, noncharge-up move". Actually that'll lead to more losses than wins.
***** Sadly, most everyone in the Tekken community says this same shit when it comes to TTT2. I bet half of them don't even realize how balanced that game is compared to this one.
SEnigmaProductions The damage is all jacked up in the PS1 era of Tekken. Characters have about 140 health, and most characters have unblockable moves that KO you in one hit. Tekken Tag Tournament 1 was the same & carried over the elements from the PS1 games as well as add some new elements
No, the blocking only sometimes works in Tekken 2. I sometimes don't do anything, and my character still doesn't block. I win a lot more at the Tekkens after this one
nah Tekken 4 play system sucks :/ half the time i struggles for jumping and crouching , I had this habit that i always avois the throws just a crouching for an instant and in Tekken 4 the character just side stepped :/ Though i like the wall rebound Moves , Wish they kept them in Tekken 5 and later on
Yeah, i prefered the old tekken games as to tekken 6. Why? because back in the day, kids werent interested in tekken, therefore there wasnt any button bashing kids to play against, but obviously 11 year kids now-a-days are aloud to play 16-18+ rated games....
tekken 2 combos were nowhere near as common as they are now. harder to do, especially against live opponents. Nowadays in tekken 7, they start a combo on yhou while you laying on the ground and you can't do shit about it lol.
No one did or does these type of combos, this is one of those things 'like hey let me take a long ass time, and figure out and exploit what the creators never meant to be done, if you played tekken 1 - tag1 when they originally came out, then you would never see any type of long combos. Because Tekken wasn't meant to be that, it just mutated into something horrible, and was entirely ruined by Tekken 6 and Tag2;( oh well. even though T5 had some juggling B.S. I would say it is the best Tekken.
