@@JKSBelarus thanks. Ossu. Yes, a cooperation to Keep the highest tradition of Shotokan Karate. Kagawa Shihan was trained for decades in the JKA System. Up till now he performs and teaches the Kihon the JKA Way, even while he is now JKS. I have great respect for the JKS. I have trained with the JKA System since 1968 under Takahashi Sensei and Sasaki Sensei and has remained JKA. And here's the principles in executing any Kata. 1) Never confuse the Kihon for Kata as the same as Kihon for Kumite. They're not done the same way. I believe you understand this because you're Godan already. 2) From yoi to the movement 1 till the last movement of the Kata and yame and before the rei, you drop your height and maintain this height all throughout the whole Kata especially in all 3 Tekki. Very seldom you revert to a standing position in some Kata. 3) in all tsuki you propel with your hips, never with your head or upper body. 4) performing any Kata includes Force, aesthetics, kinesiology and especially proper breathing management. 5) I believe you also have heard of this: F = M x A. This one explains why the heqd should not lead the Tsuki. Ossu.

I started training in karate in 1986 and was certified under the JKA program under the direction of Sensei Tanaka and Enoeda up to 3 Dan. May the Earth rest in peace... What you wrote above cannot be disputed. This is a karate axiom. Nevertheless, judo, Shito-ryu, Goju-ryu, and Wado-ryu have passed through my life. Therefore, one of the goals of our videos is to show the inextricable connection between kihon, kata and kumite. Thus, we promote the Shotokan style and the JKS school in our country. As I wrote earlier, kihon can and should be improved constantly, which is what we are doing. I think, and I am sure of this, there are many masters who can perform kihon and kata much better, but... We offered an analysis of KATA Bunkai inextricably from beginning to end. Before us, similar practices were used in goju-ryu in Geksai-dai-1,2 and Saifa.
