Forward vs reverse has never been a big deal on prop nuts. I keep a little ratchet in my field bag and usually checking the prop nut is just part of the preflight. Something that might be worth including in your kits is a low voltage alarm. Adding a few dollars to the kit to make sure people have one is a good failsafe for new and experienced pilots alike.
