Hello, i got my mtb bike about 6 months ago, but i still find my brakes not good, i got Tektro HD-M275, hydraulic disc, 180/160mm but my wheels never lock up when i brake front or back, so i can't even skid or anything any ideas why? Also my front brake i have a silver piston that is showing and rubs against the pad but doesn't retract back 😕 i already took it apart, pushing the piston back with a tire leaver, cleaned it all with brake cleaner, sanded the discs a little and cleaned, put back together pushed the leaver a few times and the piston sticking out again rubbing the pad 😕 even adjusted my rotors but nothing changed

@exploremarcus hi There! try to bleed your brake for sure there’s a mix air in your brake system, regarding your front brake in that case the return spring Of the brake pads is weak, so remove the brake pad together with return spring. To make strong and responsive, slightly pull outwards the spring! And don’t forget the push back the piston before installing the brake pads! I hope this will help you!

Hey, amazing video, brilliant job too. I have 2015 Tektro Aurigas, Im having a huge problem with my left/rear system. It is impossible to bleed the system from injecting oil via the caliber? I have clean pistons too. Even if I try just the funnel method, no fluid goes in/no air bubbles come out. The brake lever is completely flat when pulled. point of a mm in movements of the break pads on the disc. Any ideas? Shall I try a full rebuild?? Or buy a system updated Auriga for the rear? Cheers!

Isn't the oil safer to handle with gloves? Doesn't it penetrate the skin without?

No it’s fine not harmful not the same as DOT oil

Hi, im getting fluid (ATF3 fluid being used) coming out of the vent hole on a Tektro HD-T285 brake lever. I cant see any holes in the diaphragm. Has anyone experienced this before and if so what was the fix, orher than replacement of the whole lever. Could the flyid be to high viscosity, causing splash of air pressure in the reservoir during operation? Thoughts anyone?

Hi there, it’s sounds like you might be experiencing a seal issues within the brake lever, possible cause is the fluid being used, it should be use a mineral oil only that indicated in the top cup cover of your brake lever, additionally, ensuring that oil level is correct and that there are no bubbles in the system, it might be best to consult with the bike mechanic for this issue! I hope it will help? Thanks

@@mikebikeworx9428 Thanks for the reply and advice. This may be of interest to you and others. Upon initial investigation, it appears that the issue may be related to the viscosity difference between AFT3 and Tektro brake mineral oil. While AFT3 is not harmful to the seals or internals, its viscosity is nearly double that of Tektro brake mineral oil. This higher viscosity, combined with the small reservoir in the HD-T285 system when the diaphragm is fitted, creates surface tension that allows air to be sucked into the piston from the reservoir when the brake is applied. This air then enters the brake line during operation, necessitating fluid displacement from the line back into the reservoir and out of the breather hole, particularly around the edges of an aged diaphragm. Switching to a lower viscosity fluid may potentially resolve this issue. However, considering the high cost of $200 AUD per litre for Tektro mineral oils, I am exploring other more cost-effective options before committing to this solution.

Hi. Maybe you can help me with some advice. What do I do if I cannot remove the two metal pistons from the inside?

Hi! Firstly Before disassembling remove the brake pads after that press the brake lever continuously or use an air compressor!

@@mikebikeworx9428 I have already dismantled .I've tried this before. But it didn't move at all, and that's why I dismantled it, but I can't remove the pistons
