This is the perfect video to wind down before bed. As I lay here, beside me is my vintage vacuum tube Tektronix 317 oscilloscope. Because you know, everyone needs vintage test gear in the bedroom.
When I started my first job out of college, I worked for a family electronics business that was founded by a Tek alum. We were awash in Tek scopes and a lot of the practices (vertical business structure, engineering processes, and even the part numbering scheme of XXX-YYYY-ZZ) were carried from Tek. I even had one of the scopes from the era depicted in this movie, and while the switches needed cleaning, it was still in mostly working condition when I gave it away. (I kept a much smaller model from the 80s, a lot more practical for my space constraints.) The more I learn about Tek the more I understand where my former boss got a lot of his habits and ideas from.
