I have the same guitar. Keeping it stock in AGCFAd tuning. The only downside of this guitar is that the 23rd and 24th frets are there just for show because I can't reach them in any comfortable way.
Right on. Tele shape is cool. One of my favorite guitars to play right now is the cheapest in my collection. A squire tele. Put a Duncan screamin demon in it 🪓
Bro if I seen this online in any used market…. Best bet I’d snatch it up quick like! It looks good dude and sounds good and if it feels like a “you” guitar or like your own signature kinda guitar stay on that shit! This thing is sick Af!
You can 4 way switch your standard Tele for 30 dollars cost i parts and 15 minutes of your time soldering, the extra series mode will metal untill the cows come home.
I have a Harley Benton fusion III tele that I stuck an EMG 81 in and set up with Ernie ball (not even slinkies) strings and tuned to drop A. Sounds and plays like a monster from hell lol
That Harley Benton is more of a PRS vibe if I'm not mistaken. I'm a big fan of LTD, so I would go with this, but I'm sure the HB is similar quality. I'm sure either is a fine choice.
Teles for metal are hellacious. One listen to the great John 5 proves that without doubt. I have 4 teles in my usual weekly/monthly rotation (including John 5’s signature model) and metal is pretty much all I ever play. A little blues here and there but overall it’s metal, whether I’m jamming a cover song, writing new music, or playing something I have long since written. But anyway, I digress, I just hate people who dog on others for playing metal on guitars that don’t have a “history” of being played in metal bands. Hell, I have an old Gretsch that looks straight out of the 40’s/50’s old school country scene. And I can make that thing rip some old school thrash metal, stuff that’s chuggy as hell, or even tune it down to drop A and play my personal favorite genre, slow and dark DOOM metal. It’s all about your playing style, your hardware, and your output setup. Basically, if it’s got strings and you’ve got the desire, ANYTHING can be used to bring metal to the masses. Keep killin it man. I dig your videos. 👍🏻🔥🤘🏻💀
I just got mine and ordered a set of Daemonum zebra pups for it, and everyone keeps saying the tone pot won’t fit cause of the battery, I’m wondering if anybody has tried the emg t system with this model. Then again I don’t use the tone pot either but don’t want a hole showing
I was looking for openbox esp guitar only the Dent and paint chipped near the input jack. locking nuts missing. Rust on screws on the back panel. Should I buy it?
@@zachpetersonguitarsorry. Must apologize however that area of my screen is cracked to shit and I keep a bit of scotch tape over it to keep from cutting my fingers. The joys of having 2 kids under 3. Lol. Your playing is killer by the way I subscribed a while back.
@@zachpetersonguitaralso I think one of the guys in gojira plays a tele and John 5 use to but I don't know if he still does. Jim root always pops in my head cause a buddy had his signature series tele and Jim lived down the street about 4 houses from us in Atlantic beach Florida a few years back before he moved to Southside. Never got to talk to him tho cause by the time I found out he lived there slipknot was in the middle of a tour and he moved at the end of that tour. Of all the guitarist alive today he is the one I would love to jam with and everybody said he was real approachable and I'll be damned if I didn't live by the guy for 3 fuckin years not knowing only for him to move to the other side of Jacksonville. Dude is so underrated and deserves more credit than he gets.
Hey man just seen your video how to u get that metal tone man i play with a Ibanez GIO 131 dx on a boss katana MK2 50 watt combo amp and i cant not get the chugging metal tone i want ive asked countless people no help please help me man would really appreciate your help cause ove thought about upgrading to a new guitar cause i feel like my guitar cant produce the sound and power i need it to do ive thought about getting a solar e series guitar or the ltd ex-201 please help
You gotta use the brown channel and a little bit of the booster in the effects section of your amp, bro. On the Kanata, I would turn the bass at maybe 7 out of 10, the treble up just a little at maybe 6 out of 10, and put the kids kinda low around 3 out of 10. Also, your guitar is probably fine. Maybe you just need a higher output pickup, but there is plenty of gain in the katana for a low output pickup. I have the 100-watt katana, and there is plenty of gain on tap.
