Absolutely fantastic treat to see this 50 years later! Half a century on, and Marc and his band still rockin' like nobody else. xo Lovely to see more of Bill, Steve, and Mickey (all looking so cool!), and wonderful, clear colour. THANK YOU! How rare it is to find anything "undiscovered" of Marc and his band. This is very much appreciated. xxoo
Yes!!! What a rhytam. Steve is rare fantastyc fingerpicker in glam rock he is heavy and melodic in same time. Great support Marc's guitar. Bill play simple but strong and Mickey conga's is fantastyc support sound of T. Rex.
Was too young at the time, but have been watching a few documentaries about Bolan lately and man, that guy was IT for a while back in the early 70s. Ahead of the curve musically & culturally, and cool af with it. Still sounds great today!
I love Marc Bolan/T Rex! I was born 21 years after he died but I'm a huge fan. I would've loved to have witnessed his greatness firsthand. He was such a talented and beautiful man 😍
That was incredible! What a fantastic treat ... 50 years later we get to see Marc and his band, new film footage - in glorious colour! THANK YOU!! xoxo
He made so many songs himself that it seems impossible. He was ahead of his time. My first idol. I ordered T. Rex shirts online. Before, I made them myself with a stencil and car spray If there weren't t-shirts with bands in the 70s. Today, at 61, I will wear the originals. I am from Croatia, Zadar, Adriatic coast Veteran of independence war.
I was born in 54 LIVED through it all, BE 70 in November and still living the dream. RIP MARK GONE TO SOON BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN. PEACE TO YOU ALL MY FRIEND'S. ✌️😎🏴
Great to see this unseen footage. I was only 4 years old in 1972. Remember watching the ‘Marc’ tv series on tv in 1977 and was so sad when he tragically died but loved him ever since! Preordered the 1972 box set and so looking forward to receiving it in April. Kalmiyh 🎩🎶🎸🖤
Bowie and Bolan were once close collaborators and had a similar style, but they had a big falling out right before Bowie became big… they were both Glam rockers, but Bowie was more successful in his style,….Bolan could not rise beyond the “ electric warrior” album, and slowly went by the wayside….Glam faded in the US in the mid 70s in favor of disco and punk, and many Glam artists faded, except for Bowie who adjusted to the times….Bolan still did well in Europe.
This song declares its' craziness loud and proud. I love the driving beat, which is in the time signature of a military march. One of kinds of songs if there's enough energy and an infectious tune in it, makes it a sure success!
This is film was shot Feb 3rd '72 at the Chateau studios, during The Slider recordings and NOT seen by the public till now. It is not one song; a mix of at least 2 - but footage that was found and brought to you 50 years later ... such a gift for T. Rex fans! xo #kalmiyh
Lovely to see but where’s Marc? He would have never let this cut go out…There were more shots of Micky ,Steve and Bill..Bole was always the Main Man! Was expecting so much more and yes..I have pre ordered both sets!
I know how marc got the riff for get it on now almost hear the start of get it on bang a gong get it on love Marc Bolan what a legend to bad he passed before his time the music he would have made 😢
03:05 The string arrangement and lead guitar appear to be different from the single and The Slider in this video, around the time of "Telegram Sam, I'm a howlin' wolf...".
The footage is great to see, and the song is wonderful of course, but I was expecting the video to be synced to the music, which for the most part it isn't... 🤔
@@planetqueen4782 - yes, I know, but I was still expecting the video to look like it fitted the music. It does in parts, but for the most part it doesn't.
I am guessing this isnt just one whole video but segments put together ..Steve is smoking with a jacket on,then he isnt and the jacket has gone . would be difficult to sync that.. but great footage..
