An example of the truly great music 'from the past' though, to me, it still sounds fabulous--a thousand times better than what passes for music today. Really!
Alan Clark is DEFINITELY one of the most underrated keyboard players ever. What a FANTASTIC piano part - and everybody just talks about the lead guitar, because it's so terrific, too...
Nice to hear and see the original Dire Straits in concert doing exactly what brought them such fantastic acclaim in the early days. Mark, John on bass, brother David rhythm guitar and Pick on drums.....nice!
Knopfler is so brilliant-- lots of subtle stuff in his songs one may not immediately notice. Since I never tire of listening to DS, however, I eventually catch some of them.
This gig was in 84 but message in this song is more present than ever! It describes perfectly what we've become and specially what we're feeling with the debt crisis here in Portugal and probably a little all over Europe... just wish we (our "wasted" generation) could make it our anthem to help us stand up for our rights!
First heard Dire Straits in the late 70's on the radio, playing Sultan of Swing. My first reaction was who the hell is playing the Guitar, when the DJ said who it was I had no option to go out and buy their CD. Since then bout all their CD's and Videos. Seen them live on several occasions, 1985 took my 12 year Son to one of their concerts, he like me has been a big fan.
pour moi c'est le top, cette musique est tant chargée d'émotions 'que entre plaisir et larmes, que c'est presque difficile à écouter jusqu'à la fin...pensées ❤❤❤à mon frère Stéphane....
+asad mohammed When I first discovered MK i realized, that he was indeed something special. I was just starting to learn the guitar. Now a few years later, im even more blown away. I think that means something.
The album mix is very interesting to listen to in a recording studio on proper monitors. The mix is sweet and there are lots of details that you don't normally hear. One of my favorite songs ever!!!
Its kinda fun to watch this and then watch a current version of the song, the life, excitement and energy have changed yet are definately still there a much more mature, confident feel. both are great, just different
