Hilariously enough, in Tolkien, neither High Elvish (Quenya) nor Low Elvish (Sindarin) has the soft G (i.e. J) sound, but both has the hard-G. And neither has the English "ch" sound either. Telemaine was trying so hard that he basically managed to catapult his tongue out of Elvish and right into English.
