I worked there for 4 years with a break in between after having my children. I hated this job with a passion. They advertised no sales and later I found out that I had to sell items. Thanks for putting ALL of their shortcomings to life!
I have worked in Teletech Sta Rosa DC for almost 3 years., Was promoted as an SME (Subject Matter Expert). Was awarded for top sales, top CTS scores, perfect attendance, and also awarded for lowest wrap. And was terminated for a simple DOB Authentication and got very little separation pay. Lesson learned: If your sup doesn't like you, You're done! Especially if you are a treat for the position.
i worked at the teletch in morgantown for 5yrs. when i started i was in perfect health. while working there i developed severe migraines & a panic disorder not to mention my eyesight is ruined when i didnt need glasses prior to working there. The working conditions were awful and corrupt. i was terminated over something trivial when the real reason they got rid of me was about the way they were violating my rights reguarding my fmla
Same stuff happens in Morgantown WV at TeleTech...most of the chairs are broken and dangerous! Weekly an ambulance is called to rescue someone who has had a heart attack or panic attack...recently they had high up staff from Bank of America come and they bought this huge water fountain display feature, brought in plants, even hired a janitorial company for the week who is now gone and also required all employees to dress up or face being sent home. It was a beautiful place to work during those
I just finished working for this company, thankfully found a new and better job. All I can say is that the videos only touch on a portion of what is wrong with that company. They allow supervisor's to fire people just because they don't like or because they have conflicting attitudes. People who have worked there for long period's of time and support staff are looking around and even quiting with no backup plan, simply because of how horrible of a company Teletech is to work for.
The best way to help is to share this video with as many people as possible. Please post this video on your facebook and forward it to all your family and friends. The world needs to see what's going on with TeleTech!
I worked in teletech Mexico and it was horrible, I have so many bad things to say about the employers and managers. I left with a huge emotional trauma from that job, I don't recommend it to anyone.
What bastards to treat this lady this way! I bet Tuchman's wife doesn't put with this serf treatment. Really how can those manager look in the mirror as parents or just human beings? Really, really terrible way to run a company!
YEA its a really stressful job,not just dealing with the customer but trying to make the cut, because the training is not very thurough. They throw YOU to the wolves!!!! I see people dragged out via ambulanc at least bi-monthly...NO JOKE...Also the immense amount of abuse you have to endure! These people get to say the most vile and offensive things you can possibly imagine, they go after you, your kids, your religion,YOU NAME IT if they were at the DMV theyd go to jail! . This job isnt for everyone
I worked in the building for 6 years-4 with Stream and 2 with Teletech. During that time, I had my lunch stolen by fellow coworkers, had to dodge a flying computer monitor (again, coworker), and was regularly subjected to B.O. that was above and beyond the measurable spectrum of bodily odors. Oh, and not to forget the person(s) who liked to paint the bathroom walls with their own feces. Can you imagine having to manage people like this? The industry needs to be far more selective Re: hiring.
Worked at several crappy call centers myself. They are all, to some degree or another, awful. The repetition, stress, and strong arm tactics by management in today's call centers are the closest rival to 19th Cent. mills and factories we have left. And before long they'll all be outsourced to Asia too...
My work experience for TeleTech was less than 4 hours and it was 4 hours too much.. Clearwire sold TeleTech their tech department, which TeleTech planned on closing and outsourcing in 60 days. The transition happened over night and I got a call on my day off saying I could voluntarily quit Clear, or work for TeleTech. I had no option of being laid off, fired or discharged resulting in Clearwire closing their tech support. The first day, nothing worked. I walked out during orientation. Horrible.
I have witness this at AT&T as well. Alot of AT&T employees go on short-term disability because of so much stress placed on them. I'm a witness because it happened to me.
I had a similar experience of my own as far as the heart attack/blood pressure problem at Stream Global Services call center in Rio Rancho, NM. I was taken out on a stretcher more than once.
WHAT THE FFFFFFF.. i just applied for their at home position... they setup a offer call with me... can someone please tell me their experience with this... im horrified by this video jesus~!!
I've had contact with many ex-employees from the Kalispell call center, and they've all told me about the management clique that exists there. Unfortunately this type of cliqueish behavior is promoted and fully endorsed by the executives at the corporate headquarters in Englewood Colorado. This policy is the way that Tuchman and his executive clique desensitize management to legitimate employee complaints. It's a very ruthless and inhumane way to do business.
my father has had been fighting cancer for the past six years. while he was working here they made him walk around the building for the full work day. he had to carry around an oxygen tank because of the added work on his lungs. about a month ago they gave him what they call an "intelligence" test. he failed by a tiny percentage. they fired him and cut off his insurance. he needs his medications and chemotherapy to live, and without any notice or human empathy they ended his support. the really messed up part is that chemotherapy, when he had it, was effectively killing his cancer.. now he is slowly suffering to death, and there is nothing we can do to help him.
i JUST quit teletech, that i walked out SICK from that place, i hate that place, i've never ever hated a job so much like teletech, here, the calling center in Mexico, THEY DONT EVEN LET US GO TO THE RESTROOM AND THEY PAY US $3 DOLLARS AN HOUR! 3 dollars!!!
Delta airlines today announced it was closing a Washington state call center and laying off 200 workers. Delta is also closing another call center in Sioux City, SD.
You know I can relate to the people commenting on how these call center type company's treat their employees. I quit these types of jobs and started my own business which had always been a goal of mine. Just listening to her story made me feel nauseous. smh
So, the company designated a room in the building, but did not make the room available. Hoping the nesting coach in this video has pursued a lawsuit against the company, because the company not only did not make the room available to her (she made attempts t use the room but it was NOT AVAILABLE to her (it was locked or being used for other purposes).
This video has inspired me in so many ways. I can relate to all of the people in the video in some form or another. I worked for TeleTech in Lorain, Ohio for a little over 3 years and experienced a lot within that time. I would love to help in this cause in any way I can and have a few people already interested in being interviewed along with myself
I jsut applied there not knowing about these videos. the interview was automated and i had to do some CD to see if my computer was compatible.... they offered me a position and lined up an offer call.... its for the at home position... does anyone have any views about their at home stuff... im horrified by this video
I'm very sorry for your experience there. Please post this video on your facebook and forward it to all your family and friends. The world needs to see what's going on with TeleTech!
Nice interview John. This sounds like places I have interviewed at. I know jobs are scarce, I just wouldn't work there under those oppressive conditions. Times are tuff.
i worked call centers at the time when most U.S. companies began pulling out, went to China & India for cheap labor (and abusive labor tactics). no cc jobs were to be found for a long time! big mistake! no one can understand them! so now lately call centers are coming back to the U.S. but in the worse way! Imo if cc industry tries to unionize here, companies will attempt ship out again. in many other countries abusive tactics are considered the norm in the workplace
I currently work of teletech, and I must say that I hate it. When I was working full time this summer, I actually became physically ill because of how much I dreaded going to work. It feels like your soul is being drained as you sit in front of the computer taking calls.
It does depend a lot on what calls you're taking. One of the depressing things about working at TeleTech is that we take calls for Bank of America and a common call is from people wanting fees back. It gets tiring saying no to people on a fixed income who can have their livelihood ruined by one fee. I would take it over working on an oil rig though.
Sean Hartford I currently work for TeleTech and I don't dread going to work I love my job but I think its in the client as well. I take calls for a bank as well but not BoA and having accounts with BoA I can see why your job was dreadfull BoA is a dreadful company weather you work for them or use their services.
I work here also, it's actually been my three-month anniversary. I actually had to call a crisis hotline and they thought I had depression onset from this job. I've been looking hard but nobody called back for an interview yet.
I worked at TeleTech back when The phone companies slammed customers I worked for Qwest... So it just was hell with people being charged for services that they never signed up for. Worst job I ever had!!!
Hi John, I see your effort @ Teletech. I appreciate your humanitarian effort. Similar character and culture for Australian - iinet. The people at front line should unite to fight for basic rights.
The city of Topeka, who gave teletech MASSIVE tax breaks and bond money, tried to warn Kalispell. The company stayed in Topeka until the gravy train ran out, then bailed, leaving hundreds of people in Topeka out of work. Kalispell and its residents didn't even want to hear it. It was all going to be different. It must have been the employees in Topeka's fault. Ha.. Now you know.
Everyone can't handle working in a call center. What she describes sounds typical. I think that you have to have a strong relationship with God to endure the work related stress.
Hehe, I just meant it figuratively but yup, the worst are middle management, most of the employees are cool and they are the only good thing about working there, the brown nosers and the middle management stink which is too bad since upper management has some good people, but alas judging by their middle management they don't care about the workers at the bottom.
for some reason I cant leave the comment I wanted, but I would love to talk to you through email. I worked at the morgantown Wv center for a year, along with my girlfriend. Have much to speak about if you have time. Thanks for doing what you are doing. I wanted to do the same but fear those large corporate lawyers.
don't fear large corporate lawyers.. we have freedoms that myself and other vets have and are protecting.. when we live in a world where action is not taken solely because of fear, we are being terrorized.. don't let Corporate America be your terrorists.. I also believe this nation is at a threshold of uprising. One solid cause for Americans to rally behind, against the government, and we may have change.. It will be tough, but hopefully we the people will out number our government.
i was at teletech for two years and when i finally left, i was so happy, so relieved. i didn't realize how stressed i was at that fucking place until i finally left
dont you think that the tax credit would not equal the same amount of money as it cost the company to rehire and train people. surly they lost more money in training and rehiring than the gain they got from tax credits
no, not harsh. I say what I said out of the utmost sympathy for the plight of these workers and out of reverence for their spiritual state. many things, but not harsh.
this is a complete joke!!!! i worked for this company for over 7.5 years and they were amazing to work for, i worked my way from an associate taking calls, to managing all incentives, recognition, communication, Health and Wellness, and benefits. i learned so much from them! and i was the one who did the OTHER interviews to show how GOOD the place can be. The ones i interviewed WORKED their way up just like i did. Maybe you should get facts straight before trying to take down a corporation!
Teletech and Telvista in Mexico City are sth like obscure enterprises. Most of the people from USA and from Georgie, in the UK who I have the pleasure to talk to, have told me that I speak excellent, so I apply to get a job, but in both enterprises I was rejected because of my low english level. The thing is why do they stay at subway stations asking mexican people who speak english to apply for a job interview in english when they do not speak correctly english and even spanish. I see why.
@nintendoguyjp: That was proven most efficiently during the last election when Romney was willing to support big corporate business. We need to bring it back to the people, not the corporations and conglomerates. @Acton5: $28k? When we're talking about giving to someone who shows annual numbers in the high millions/low billions, them giving $28k to Obama is like giving pocket change to Donal Trump.
