their version of the instrumental kinda felt too blending in with their voices, i couldn't sometimes understand if they were singing or not, even tho it's so good

Preach! At the end of the day this is WG's song. The disco beat is what gives it its identity. Imo why would you replace the instrumental people know and love with just bare beats that doesn't even sound great with the melody anyway.
@@keetard Because a remake (its kind of in the name) should encapsulate the artists's unique sound - not try to just replicate the original artist's work. I mean what's the fun in trying to remake the same vibe over and over again? imo its much cooler to see the different interpretations of the song and sounds that groups can bring. Weather you like the cover or not, it's fun to see how the girls took the song and made it their own to fit their sound :)
Though I love the rework since it matches New Jeans' sound, the melody from the intro that plays in the background during the choruses is the backbone of the song and I wish they'd kept it. Without it the instrumental sounds lifeless, it's needed to tie everything together.
Honestly, NJs cover was very cute but it had me wanting to go back and listen to the original because you really cannot beat the original beat of this song 😭
@@newjeans2cool no. Me saying Minji doesn’t sound like Yubin isn’t hate, Yubin’s voice is way stronger, more mature, and deeper. Minji’s is softer, youthful, and slightly higher. Personally, I do prefer Yubin’s tone, but that’s js my opinion.
I think it's because the whole point of a cover is to take creative license and "make it your own" but yes I agree the original instrumental track cannot be beat
the remake was more softer imo. since they are taking the vocals from the vocals from that it won’t exactly fit. also the audio might be more quiet since is it from another source (dont quote me on that though)
@@heatwaves8790 I kinda see what u mean but there are points where we get pretty strong vocals. I'd say the chorus here is softer than the OG. And the highnote is a little stronger/louder in the OG
I love newjeans but ador sucks at making remixes 🥲 the tell me performance and with the recent gda perf i really didnt like the attention remix it sounded empty in the big venue
because it is supposed that for that cover each group had to give it their style, that's why they made an instrumental that would fit with nwjns and their concept
i ofc love the og tell me and the instrumentals are iconic! but i love that nwjns put their own spin on a song thats been covered so many times. covers arent supposed to be an exact replica of the original. their fresh take on tell me really encapsulates their whole vibe as a group and i appreciate that
although i thought the instrumental they used was cool and definitely fit more with their style the original is just so iconic it feels weird to hear tell me without the iconic intro lol
istg, new jeans is the wonder girls of 4th gen. 4th gen is where everything is noise music but new jeans and wg deliver their music with just chill vibes but still hit huge charts.
in my opinion, it really depends on who’s singing the song, like for newjeans i’d go with the new instrumental but for wonder girls i’d go for the old one!
I do prefer this but what i love about their voices covering it is the added little touch of some sort of slightly robotic autotune but still sounds pretty human in the chorus. It makes the cover sound extra nostalgic. Even though the OG version of tell me didn't have any autotune this added some more authenticity to their y2k style and blended well with the more modern sounding cover instrumental. I really miss the random bits of autotune in songs. It's used very rarely these days.

wait this is great, but it’s missing that bouncy sound (idk how to describe it, it’s that little noise that plays throughout the whole song that sticks out) after every verse. it played in the beginning but then i didn’t hear it again 😢
