@@parhamfalahi3185 I can tell you are still a teen, and you don't truly understand it, buckle up and enjoy those years your living, it gets a lot better and a hell of a lot worse, keep grinding through it all and work towards goals, always be working towards your goals, never make excuses, just thrive. And remember, if it's easy.. It's not worth doing.
"what i ever did, i did to make you proud, tell me how proud you are Shifu" fuck that hit me right in the feels edit: Yes I know the script says "all i ever did", It doesn't mean he says that, Listen better....
Listening to the tai lung and shifu audio I've come to realize something. Tai believed that shifu hated him, he wanted nothing but hands. So when shifu told him that he was always proud of him and that he was sorry, Tai didn't even know how to begin to process an emotion other than hate. That's why he reacted the way he did. He couldn't handle the fact that shifu, in fact, wasn't ever disappointed in him, that he loved him as his son. So Tai slipped back into violence because that's he knew, that's all he could bear. Hate is easier to process than sorrow
he thought he betrayed him and shifu lied to him. He resented how shifu pushed him and told him his whole life that this is what he was destined to be. When it was denied to him, that hurts him because his whole identity was "train harder and be the dragon warrior", so his whole identity is a lie. Made worse because shifu did nothing at all to argue with oogway or console tai lung or do anything really
I don't think he ever thought Shifu hated him. It's just that Shifu put ideas into his head. We didn't see much of Tai Lung's childhood or much introspection from him, but given that he was an orphan, it's easy to see how he would latch onto these ideas and dreams that Shifu gave him. He was abandoned by his birth parents for unknown reasons. That could've played a role in him having a low self-esteem and self-worth. Being the Dragon Warrior would be definitive proof that he was worth something. And so he worked tirelessly, literally until his body wouldn't let him anymore, to become what Shifu inspired him to be. Then, after dedicating his life towards this singular purpose that will give his life meaning and prove that he actually is something, he's denied that and his master, the guy who filled him with those hopes and dreams in the first place, doesn't do anything to defend him. It's easy to see how it felt like a betrayal.
@@Threelives229 never really considered it from that angle before. That's a really good point. Thank you for your insight. I never really considered that him being an orphan would play a role into it all. I think I forgot how shifu found him
@SalamiMilk Very true. So many people forget this last detail. Understanding the villain doesn't mean they're not still doing wrong, it's important to learn from those mistakes
Thats not true, he went and destroyed the village after he found out he wasnt the dragon warrior, he wasnt just upset, deep down he had evil in him. Not everyone who gets a disappointment turns into a villain. Also its a kids show, so they dont directly state when people get murdered, but its implied when he attacked the town that he killed some people
we can all agree that line where he said "whatever i did, i did to make you proud, tell me how proud you are shifu" hits all of us in the feels. makin me tear up n shit
Even if i don't think Tai Lung was justified, i understand him, if they raised a child, and put the idea of him becoming some kind of choosen one since he were a child to then reveal that he aren't that "someone", then you can't expect a good reaction, of course, im not saying that Tai Lung was meant to be the dragon warrior or that he did nothing wrong, but that i can understand why he became like that
In all defence for Tai Long , it was Shifus Fault , just because his master said him that he is not the Dragon Warrior , doesnt mean that he had to be right , at least he should have stood on the side of his Apprentice , giving him strengh , supporting him achieving his Goal , what was deep down just to make Shifu proud
I always was Tai lung fan. When I watch this movie when I was child I wanted him to win Po asf, but when he lose I remember I cried a lot cause he didn’t deserve all of this
They way Kung fu panda 4 fumbled must be studied, the original concept was going to bring back Tai and Center the film around him and Po in a similar relationship to Goku and Vegeta…that would have been perfect
I just realised something, Oogway never even really gave Tai Lung a chance to see how he would turn out as the dragon warrior, this tortoise really just went on a whim & said "hmm nah, not feeling good vibes from you", then dipped to the afterlife as soon as he heard Tai Lung was on his way back to the Jade Palace.
“ALL I EVER DID WAS TO MAKE YOU PROUD!! TELL ME HOW PROUD YOU ARE! TELL ME! TELL MEEEEE!” That shit hits bruh. Imagine having a horrible relationship with your father, you grow up to be an adult, you get into a fight with him and you end up saying this to him
As a child I never understood esch broken villains painful backstory, now that im older and i have seen a some shorts about broken villains and stuff I really understand them
I like broken villains because it shows what there life was like, but villains that are just evil for the sake of being evil now that puts a smile on my face
When I was little, I really hated Tai Lung, but when I got older, I started to understand him. Tai Lung was put through harder training than ever. Way more harder than what the furious five were put through. “All I ever did, I did to make you proud tell how proud you are Shifu tell me TELL ME!!!” That made me emotional when he said that.
When I was a kid I used to think tai lung was pure evil but now I understand he’s just misunderstood. I mean imagine being told your whole life that your destiny is to become the dragon warrior. And then being told no at the finish, actually it’s even worse because he’s told that the dragon scroll belongs to someone else
We all tried to make someone proud before, by being something we are not, even if you think you are where you belong. Sometimes the people who help us walk a path can blind us from seeing that it is their dream, their wish to see you the best version in their image, (right or wrong). You don't always know what path you're walking, unless you got a plan or until you reach the end of it, if you go the wrong path blindly, you are most likely to demand for something you don't deserve. Not always should you keep doing something you're good at, you don't always get what you deserve, but i guess being a hero that died to end a war, is better than being selfish and having your own happy life. (Like getting wounds for the ones you love). Most of the time all we needed was someone to love and care for us. Or even i bit of attention our way, because the path can feel lonely sometimes. You then prefer fiction more than reality because you got used to imagining 'what could of been', So you spend more time watching movies and series which you might relate to even a little. You go to social media to vent. To either put on a mask or take one off. This isn't always accurate tho.
Tai lung wanted to be the dragon warrior so he can make shi fu proud not knowing shi fu was already proud of him and the dragon warrior was simply a title, tai lung already had the skills of the dragon warrior
"WHAT I EVER DID! I DID TO MAKE YOU PROUD! TELL ME HOW PROUD YOU ARE, SHIFU. TELL ME! TELL ME!!!" Poor Snow Leopard, he doesnt deserve that kind of treatment
Was he genuinely wanting to have Shifu express pride towards him? Thought it sounded a bit mocking, like saying “look what your efforts have turned me into you old fool, I am your creation and you abhor me”. Like he’s saying admit you were wrong and admit I am a product of your making
I think he just wanted to see what shifu’s response was. Tai Ling was so obsessed with becoming the dragon scroll that he doesn’t even want an apology he just wants the damn scroll
A little bit of both I reckon. It's mocking in way such that "Look at me, I'm a greater warrior than you. Tell me I don't deserve that scroll." But his reaction to Shifu's apology says that he did genuinely want to hear that Shifu was proud of him. Of course, that apology wasn't enough for him at that point, and I reckon it wouldn't've been even if Shifu had said he was sorry 20 years ago.
Growing up I thought he was an asshole but now the realize if someone promised me something my whole life only for it get ripped away and the person that promised me it does nothing 😢
