We asked Lindsay Adler and Chris Knight to create images representing this year’s Pantone Color of the Year, but with a twist: Use as many lights as you want, but only shape light with hard reflectors. These are the reflectors they used:

Chris' approach is ethereal. But both photographers show a very delicate sense of perfect lighting. The emotions are conveyed accurately and that is brilliantly done.

To be fair, both images looked good. Would love to see a detailed look at Chris' setup, as he adds one light at a time explaining why. Looked veeeeeeeeeeery complicated.

I love both results but prefer Chris' if I have to pick one. His use of different colors of light adds dimension and intrigue to the end result. Lindsay's photo, though, showcases the color of the year so if that was the criteria, I'd chose her image for relevancy.
