What board were you riding? Almost looks like a Lunar but the orange on the base tells me it’s something else. POW POW indeed. Looked Like a killer day!
Steve, this looks like a blast! I was just out in CO earlier this month and unfortunately, I suffered a spiral fracture to my left tibia and fibula (riding regular) later in the week at Vail. Everything was going great at Breckenridge and Keystone earlier in the week, but a small fall going down I think it was called Whiskey Jack at Vail somehow did me in. All I remember is my leg turning in my boot in ways it was not supposed to. With all of your experience and time snowboarding, have you ever heard of this happening to a snowboarder? I question not only what I did wrong, but whether something else is wrong such as my boots being too big (they seem to fit snug, but who knows). I'm no pro but have been snowboarding here and there since ~2009 while just staying on the runs without any jumps, etc. It was a bit disappointing since the week was going so well and my confidence was at an all-time high. I hope to return to snowboarding again one day as I thoroughly enjoy it, but there will definitely be some mental obstacles to overcome on top of what I'm dealing with physically. It sure was a blast and the snow was pretty prime. Didn’t get to go where I wanted to for the last run due to being voted against three to one. Sorry to hear about your injury and I have had one experience where my foot turned and rolled in my boot. This was one of my first few times out many moons ago and it was due to loose boots. I’m not sure what happened in your case but wish you a fast recovery and all the confidence to get back out there and ride! You got this.
Was thinking of going Heli skiing but i see a lot of mellow runs and im not convinced on spending $$$ for that. Did your group ask for runs like these or were these runs picked accordingly to the conditions ?
I understand I did want to do some more steeper and challenging runs here but was at the mercy of my groups level. I had trouble convincing my friends to drive that far and spend that kinda money. My advice is get a group of four of you that are strong riders or skiers. When you call to book it go over the kind of terrain you’re looking to shred. Good luck! 🚁
