Those quad videotape machines ran the linear audio track at 15 inches per second - the same speed as studio audio recorders both then and now. Same sound quality, within the limits of tape from the early 1960's.
Except I'm thinking that if this was after the ending of the Tennessee Ernie Ford show, the live-read may have been fed out of NBC-Burbank instead of New York, and the announcer sounded more like Frank Barton than Bill McCord.
