Is this sample fully crystallized or it still has bits of the glass phase in it? Being fully crystalline, when broken, does it have sharp shards or rounded ones like one could find within 'conventional' ceramics? If it's sharp, will you cut yourself just by grabbing it or is it extremely more blunt than 'conventional' glass?

The bits are very small. Sharp. More like a bee sting if you were to grab it

Can I replace the old tempered glass in a sealed/ no doors gas fireplace , it came from a tract home, I hear ceramic gives off better heat for the room

NO No No....if it had tempered glass you must use tempered. if it has ceramic you must use ceramic - you can not switch the two......if you use ceramic and the unit is not designed for it, it can hold too much heat in the unit and damage the gas valve.
