A good way to learn about the temple is to study Freemasonry, because the LDS temple is basically a modified version of the Masonic temple.

Thanks for your comment! There are some similarities between the LDS Temple and a Mosonic Lodge but not as much as you would think. Here is a video of an LDS Historian getting a tour of the Salt Lake Masonic Lodge- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7D8t67X7FC0.htmlsi=tM7qmXtMeL3VkC1u

@@ScripturesMadeSimple I base my comment on the book "Method Infinite - Freemasonry and the Mormon restoration" which lists all parallels in over 400 pages. 🤔

Hi, I'm so grateful for your insights! 🙏 I have a question about proxy baptism. 🤔 What if my grandfather died 20 years ago, and he probably heard about the gospel or lived during the gospel era but never joined any church? Is he still a valid candidate for such an ordinance? 🤔 If he is, what then makes of the scripture that says it's appointed for man to die and judgment after death? 🧐 I'm really struggling with this. Thanks! #LDS #FamilyHistory #GospelQuestions

Thanks for your question! While I am not the final judge on this (thank goodness!) there are a few things to consider. We will all have an opportunity to accept or reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the whole purpose of our mortal and post mortal lives (spirit world). I cannot say if he truly had that chance in this life since that is between him and Christ. The best thing for us to do is make sure the work is done for him so if he wants to accept it then he can. When we get this chance to accept or reject the Gospel is a sticky topic since it is an individual thing. Our job is to work on making that choice for ourselves and getting the work done for others so if they do make that choice to accept they can have the blessings from it. If they choose to not accept is up to them. As for the scripture you mention, there is a time appointed, or another way to say it, there is a time when we can make that choice and a time when our lack of choosing makes the choice for us. Teh time we die is not allways the time where our choice ends. This would be very unfair to anyone who never had the chance to hear the Gospel in this mortal life. The spirit world is a "waiting room" of sorts where we can be taught the gospel and make that choice. Some will and some will not. But this will allow God to be a Just God and judge everyone on an equal playing field. We will allo have the same opportunity to accept Jesus Christ of not. Once everything is done in this mortal world and Christ wraps things up after his second comming then will be the final judgement. So death is not the end and there is still time to make the choice we want to make!

Don’t worry. We do not choose for others. We give opportunities. We do not judge.
