So this game was the Solasta of its time. Poor Troika. I can only imagine if the original Baldur's Gate games ran on this engine but while keeping the quality writing. Perfect D&D crpg right there.
Yes, basically. ToEE was poorly funded/supported by Atari and they viewed it as a red-headed stepchild. It was released incredibly buggy and almost unplayable. Fan patches fixed that, but the game never recovered. Thankfully it's treated like the classic it truly is and the modding community has given it new life.
The publisher refused to pay for QA, and release patches for it. Retroactively made changes. You should look up Tim Cain (the original developer)'s videos about it. Kind of heart breaking. I have not played this one. but its on my list. I hear the mods fix the stuff and pretty much finish the game.
Thanks for the character tips and hints. I played Arcanum and now want to try all the Troika titles. This looks like the Black Isle's games but I heard D&D 3.5 rules would make the party way different. The rule changes seem modest and the game looks quite playable.
I bought it and planning to play it someday. Sadly de CO8 patch won't work with the spanish version of the game so I'll need to stick to gog version with temple +. Hope the game is not incredibly buggy like that
The game is fine with only the Temple+ Patch. Plus Co8 doesn't offer an authentic experience no matter the options you choose when installing it. If you want the most authentic experience then you should play the CD version with Patch 2.0 and Temple +. The GoG version comes with a fan patch that changes the balance of the game.
@@radiance9657I sold my CD version Because I learned that the GOG version was cheaper than the amount I ended up selling it for so I made a profit while still being able to play the game. So I should definitely install Temple+ if I want the most authentic experience minus glitches and stuff?
Normally you can only play with 5 characters and 2 recruit NPCs. However, the "temple +" mod will let you alter all the rules of the game, including the number of characters you can run. I think it let's you make up to 8
