The fact that buddy-buddy poffin is in the pre-release kits is actually huge in terms of how easy it will be to get.

I always love these videos, it's been ages since I've been able to go to a prerelease but it's a lot of fun to see the kits and how people build their decks :)

Hear me out: using the relicanth for croconaws reverse thrust attack could prove great in ensuring you prevent cheap knockouts on yourself, especially in a format like build and battle kits. Just an idea lol

I hate the fact that Scovillan ex was included in this set, instead of Paldean Fates. It would make a lot more sense to just add in into Paldean Fates, because there was also a shiny version of it in there (as a non ex).

Would love to see the other two(?) decks get this kind of breakdown. My kids are playing this weekend, and I want to set them u for success. This video is excellent, as a dad that just collects, but doesn't really play.

I was unfortunately only able to get my hands on one box this time around. There are 4 promos. So potentially, there are 6-8 different combinations possible. The other I know of is Metang as the promo and Future as the back half.

the 4 promos are the feralagtr, metang (both mentioned) miraidon to set up future cards, great in early game and koridon which does more for each ancient pokemon you have in play

Nice to see for newer players! In my mind though I was like.. "USE THE IRON TREADS".. and you completely skipped over it multiple times lol. Would've worked incredibly well in the prerelease. Decent attack and pretty beefy.

I can see it! Being able to preserve the energy is nice. I think if it did 70 instead of 60, I'd have been more inclined to use it since most basics in the kits have 70HP.

Same! I think the attacks of my basics/stage 1's in this kit were kinda lacking, unfortunately.

I think those are from Silver Tempest and the single prize Incenaroar had an attack that can use the prior evolutions too.

it's a professor program playmat! you earn point by judging or running events and can spend them in a store over time!

I think Miraidon by far, looking at JP results! I'm partial to Metang for some rouge decks and Feraligatr for Gen 2 Nostalgia though!

Why would you not use the ex with a colorless attack that gets stronger when it gets hit??

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Worst case it slows the game down because your opponent is going to be hesitant to attack, and they're going to be a little hard-pressed to take it out in one turn.

Other than the argument that it's 2 prizes, the main reasoning is that opposing Feraligatr kits exist and it can one-shot you & then you just lose the prize race. A smart player will just pass instead of attacking into it anyways and your damage is very reliant on them swinging into you.
