I just got my first shipment from them. Their customer service was the best I've had with any company ever - in the midst of a global shipping fiasco, Joey proactively emailed me about a bottle that was causing a delay in my shipment, offered me options, and kept me regularly abreast of the situation. I was already tickled that I could finally get Mr. Black in Ohio by having them deliver it, but their care and personal touch has me as a customer for life.

Cagliastro and Saint-Germain are the two main goto figures authors usually use when they need an "immortal" in their novel. I STILL haven't forgiven Sandler for dashing my hopes many years ago. I saw "Hotel Transylvania" popping up in movie forums and I was ecstatic thinking we were going to be getting Chelsea Quinn Yarbro's version of Saint-Germain on the big screen ... only to find out it was going to be an Adam Sandler animated flick. I usually prefer to have a glass of Pastis and chilled water, no ice. Commonly served in an 8 oz. tumbler, with about a 4:1 or 5:1 ratio of water to Pastis. It's soooo refreshing and is extremely popular in the southern regions of France, in particular.

A drink of my own creation I call it the April afternoon Put several slices of English or cocktail cucumber (the more the merrier) at the bottom of a shaker add 2 oz of Irish whiskey, 1oz of elderflower liqueur and 1 oz of lemon juice. Shake and double strain into a Collin’s glass and top with soda. Garnish with a cucumber wheel. If I know I’m going to be making a lot of these I’ll actually steep some cucumber in some whiskey for a few days to really imbue the liquor with the fresh vegetal flavor of cucumbers.

About measuring pedantically, I absolutely hate when people just say “top it off with this” and don’t give any clue about how much. I could have a different sized glass, more or less ice cubes, and I'm making the drink for the first time. Also, when I measure, I can easily know how much I should use next time if I want to increase or decrease the amount. It lao makes you tasting notes more accurate to the drink we make at home. In conclusion, I like measurements. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

To spring-up the Caipirinha, I recommend you to try adding a bit of water to it, personally I really enjoy it with the bubbles of soda water.

I am glad the first couple of things that came to my mind when I saw spring cocktails made your list (Mint Julip and La Paloma). I live for La Paloma cocktails!

spaghetti parties were definitely still a thing when I graduated high school in 2015. I suspect they always will be. Liver and muscles store glycogen. If you're running long distance this is a huge advantage.

I make my own twist on the Pimm's Cup using Pimms, Ice, Gingerbeer (instead of lemon soda), a few dashes of Lemon juice concentrate, and garnish with a Lemon wheel, Cucumber, and Mint! It's my favorite drink now :)

Please do an episode of spirit guide on brandy! I am so curious to hear your perspective on such a wide range of drinks of varying origin, put into simpler terms!

I've been enjoying a gin old-fashioned recipe since Spring hit. It's the same recipe as a regular old-fashioned but substitute bourbon for barrel-aged gin and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.

only knew pimms cup with ginger ale instead of lemon soda. but i'll check that one out. i used to dislike making pimms cups at work simply because they were laborious, but they look cool and taste good, so it pays off for everyone in the end.

Hey Greg! If you're curious, I learned in my college biology class that the reason people 'carb load' the night before a race has to do with carbohydrates ability to help you absorb water. When you load up on carbs, your body is able to absorb more water, helping you with hydration. I'm pretty sure I got that right, I think it also has something to do with energy stores, but yes, it really does work.

Thinking of the marTEAni, I wonder if jasmine green tea could be an option for a Spring cocktail of sorts...?

It wouldn't be a "craft" cocktail per se, but if you mix green tea and black tea, you would get something approximating Snapple, which to me is always associated with the warmer months, especially lemon.

There is this delightful concoction one of my local bars makes that includes oolong, bergamot juice, jasmine and I think it was gin or baijiu. It is very spring-y. Can't wait for the place to open again.

What's up Greg? Long time fan and brazillian here. I've probably made a few hundred caipirinhas in my life. Taking out the pit in the middle is not really necessary, it will only get bitter if the drink sits for a long time, which it shouldn't. The caipirinha also needs a lot of ice, you should top the glass up with crushed ice after pouring from the shaker. Also, on a personal note, I think a light rum like Havana Club 3 works wonders on a caipirinha. In a pinch, vodka also works Ok, although you lose that funk the cachaça has (that's why a funky rum also works).

I love Curiada! I've been using it to get Mr. Black, and I don't find the shipping fee too egregious (better than trying to figure out how to get to the ends of the earth w/o a car in a pandemic), cause everything is packed really well, and FedEx brought it right the door of my apartment.
