Never heard of Simeon Ten Holt before, but wow, what a discovery this piece is - I love the melodies intervoven in the minimalist pattern. Reading through the comments, I see the pianists adds to what I like about this recording - as a fan of Gould renditions of Mozart sonatas, this is exactly the kind of take on piano music that I prefere.
My favourite recording of this piece, it feels more staccato and bright than the others - I can understand why those not looking for these qualities would enjoy the more spaciously-recorded versions more.
Contrary to the two complainers, I love this! I first heard it on KPFA while driving home form work, and I had soothing feelings and brilliant visions, and did not fall asleep though it was midnight. Lovely music.
