I find it absolutely fascinating that Queen Victoria “disposed” of a diamond tiara. How does one do that? “Please dispose of this tiara, it’s far too sparkly!” If I had a tiara like that I’d wear it everywhere…bed, gym, shower…everywhere. Hey, she said it was versatile!

I very much enjoyed every minute of this!

As an American raised on televised royal fantasies, tiaras have always fascinated me because of an extremely minor royal connection in my German ancestry (My Bavarian Baroness great-grandmother gave up her title to marry a 'commoner' {wealthy high appellate court judge}) and then emigrate to the US...my imagination conjures a family tiara that she may have seen used in her mother and father's families. Haha, zero family photos of anything like that but I do have a very glamorous professional photo taken of her in her youth...that had to be very expensive. Even if a so-called tiara was nothing more than pseudo-precious metals spiked with only a tiny few gems I can dream that it might have been lovely.) Sad that German royal family members in the past century have had to sell their family jewels.

The missing tiaras are chopped up, and made into pieces which are not easily recognizable.

I'd love to know about Grenville jewellery When Lady Grenville died She had all her jewellery shipped 2 the Queen and nothing was ever written or shown about the full Extent of her jewellery

I 100% understand inheritance tax (which I hate), however I have to question why HRH Mary, the Princess Royal wouldn’t have left her jewels, especially the ones belonging to Queen Victoria to the Crown, which therefore cannot be taxed.

Regarding Maria's Fringe Tiara, the same tiara that, Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Ann and lastly Princess Beatrice on their wedding days, certainly looks like the same one!!!!

What a waste of money. And why is it always the man who buys something for the woman for the wedding? What does she buy him to mark the occasion? Oh that's right - weddings are all about the bride. The Groom is just there to balance the photos.
