I’m moved to Utah from Oklahoma (cheap to more expensive 😆) and the first job I interviewed for pays 24 for entry COTA position in skilled nursing. I just graduated they said they operate around 80 percent productivity after 2 months of training and full time no low census. Does that sound pretty good deal for getting my foot in the water?? I’m gonna keep booking interviews to see if anything’s better if not I’ll have to settle or negotiate with the first again .
Hi, I’m not sure what the pay is for new grads in Utah but I will say 24 an hour sounds about right for an average but your state pay may be higher. I know for the state that I live in, $26 is average for new grads. Have you tried asking COTAs in your area what did they start off with? My first job offer was $24 and I turned it down because I knew it was a low offer for the state that I live in. You can either accept it if you really like the place or keep looking, there will always be jobs in SNF. 80% productivity ? That’s amazing, I’ve never heard of a company accepting 80%
Also remember, I said a-lot of times you just need to get your foot in the door to get the experience. If your tired of doing interviews or feel like it may be a while for the next interview then I’ll say to the job offer
