Bait-tech big carp method mix (krill and tuna) has proved extremely effective for me in the past for tench, crucians and bream. It holds together really well if mixed right which can make a huge amount of difference in 10ft+ deep swims where less tacky mixes will tend to fall apart before it reaches the bottom, it also allows you to put a few goodies in like corn, hemp and/or pellet without destabilising it. Dynamite halibut is my back up if I can't get my usual stuff, not quite as sticky and I do feel that not having krill in the mix is slightly detrimental but still got a lot of faith in it.

Pretty difficult to give any firm advice on this to be honest. You will probably find the tench more willing to feed close in during the warmer months, say from April to September, but I would never discount the margins, especially if they are more than four feet deep and with cover, such as overhanging trees, or weed / lily pads. Features out in the lake, such as gravel bars are, in effect, pretty much the same as the margins. So try I can't give you any better advice! Best wishes, Paul
As long as it is proper krill powder Andrew - some additives are just krill flavoured, then you won't go far wrong. I've used several different brands and to be honest it all looks very similar to me.
