Europe's largest bird of prey going all smoochie
One of the most fascinating - and troublesome - things about the EBV (Eurasian Black Vulture, Aegypius monachus) to me is its tenderness and sensitivity. They are painfully shy and nervous guys, difficult to deal with... all is drama. Hehe. That is a quite surprising and sweet thing to say about a 'vulture', isn't it?
In this video I've brought together pictures of the local couple's (called 'the Sir' and 'Snowflake') romance in 2012 and their tender interactions with their first-born baby (called 'Orion') in 2013. Originally, I only wanted to do the latter to illustrate how hand-rearing is bad and depriving the chick of so much... but well... the Bearded Vulture is the bonebreaker, the Egyptian Vulture is the tool-using genius, the Griffon Vulture is the crowdlover and the EBV is... THE TENDER FLIRTER. So it's gotta be shown sooner or later! :)

The Eurasian Black Vulture is beautiful bird. They looked so sweet cuddling and preening each other.

Thanks for your comment. This is how tender they are to EACH OTHER and their OFFSPRING. I am referring to this very species, the Eurasian Black (or Cinereous) Vulture, only. It is a very shy species towards humans, but even this one still is a large raptor and has a beak designed to open big carcasses. That is not to be underestimated. I sit this very species of vulture in your garage? (...)

I have a vulture following me and my kids into my garage on more than one occasion should I be scared bc these videos show a softer side

Do you have a picture of the one at your garage to tell the species? This very species occurs only in a few Mediterranean countries (France, Iberian and Balkan Peninsula) and Central Asia in the wild (sadly)... are you from one of those countries?

thanks for the info, i am not sure if it is this particular species. I have no intention of harming the bird but am actually very frightened to have the bird so near to me and my children. I have called the local authorities but they have stated it is unusual for the bird to be so close to humans. thanks for your help

Sorry, the last line should be "Is it..." (...) This species of vulture walking into a garage sounds like atypical behaviour altogether! Please be aware that this species is legally highly protected. Please don't harm the one in your garage!!! I would recommend to not interfere with the bird yourself and inform your local authorities. I hope that helps. Kind regards, K. Wolfram
