Let’s see where this T7 will take me next. Thanks for watching! :)
CORRECTION: I'm removing the rear foot pegs at times, not brake pads, obviously... sorry!
FYI The river crossing at the end was at maximum wading depth. There were small amounts of water in the air filter on the dirty side, the clean side was dry, luckily...
The bike had about 12.000 km on the clock at the time I uploaded the video.

Really nice to hear your thoughts on the T7 and what you have experienced so far. Cheers from Norway 🇳🇴

Fantastic, the bike looks beautiful! Kind of a shame that some rust already popped up, and the paint doesn't really seem to be durable. I mean it's an off road, so I'd expect better. Can't wait for the new videos. You're always an inspiration 😀👍

Thanks for your reply!!:) The T7 has a beautiful design for sure and I wanted to keep it as original as possible and not add too much weight Yup the paint could be more durable though imo..

T7 is an absolute adventure machine that can take you anywhere in the world. Do some updates on the main impact points, take what you need to sustain and voila...ready for the extreme soil in the planet from the Patagonia to Mongolian zone. Cheers

Great to see you back at it! I think the T7 is a great bike. Did you part ways with the DR or did you keep it for tighter trails?
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom 2 года назад
I was sure that this question would come up. I parted ways with the DR because engine work needed to be done and I didn't have the time.. the mileage on my DR was questionable, could have been manipulated, but I don't know... To be honest with my style of riding I was able to go everywhere with the big bike I would have gone with the DR, but it's more work now for sure! Cheers

Not exactly cheap, but I love the Kaoko throttle lock. Works like a charm with the T7 Barkbusters 👍

I did it similar to Lyndon Poskitt's Basil Bike and it worked super well for the T7 with Barkbusters:) Will add it in my next update video.. Super cheap solution.. All the best!:) Max

Dein Stil ist nach meinem Geschmack. Meine hat seit Herbst 21 jetzt 13.000 km runter. Ein grosser Teil davon in Andalusien in der Sierra Nevada. Was machst Du nächsten Winter ? PS: Bremsbeläge hinten....exakt bei 6000 km gewechselt ;-)

Mate a T7 over the DR, so sad. 😔 I bought a T7 in 2020 and apart from engine power and fuel economy I don’t actually find it better than my DR 650, my biggest gripe with it is that is 40 Kg heavier than my DR and you can seriously feel it sadly. But each to his own, looking forward to see your adventures on the T7. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
@EternalBiohazard
@EternalBiohazard 2 года назад
That's what kept me from changing my DR to a T7. Apparently my worries were justified. I guess I'm gonna keep the DR. I'm still going to test ride the T7 to be sure.
@thunderbear0
@thunderbear0 2 года назад
Well guess what? On highways you need heavy weight bike otherwise those big semi trucks and crosswinds will make your tour hell Heavy weight better economy best reliable engine possible it looks beautiful thats enough for me atleast to get this
@EternalBiohazard
@EternalBiohazard 2 года назад
@@thunderbear0 To each their own I guess. For me weight has much higher priority than highway comfort and marginally better fuel consumption. Reliability is certainly no issue with the DR even compared to the T7
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom 2 года назад
In my opinion it’s really hard to compare those bikes. They are just two different categories, two different kinds of engines. Obviously the DR is more offroad-capable theoretically. For me personally though I wasn’t limited too much by the T7’s weight offroad to my own surprise. I was able to go on the same trails and tracks I would have gone with the DR, but it’s more effort for sure… I’m pretty happy for the moment! You know the real offroad-paradises where I live are hundreds of kilometers away... The next video I upload is from a longer trip with a DR-Rider and even though the bikes were so different, we were able to ride our trails at pretty much the same pace... All the best!:=) Max
@whitedrguy6503

@@thunderbear0 Heavy weight is not so much of a benefit when the road turns to dirt and then to mud, after all we are talking adventure bikes, AKA dual sports, MX and enduro bikes weigh 100- 110 Kg for a reason, an adventure bike needs to be a compromise of power and weight, unfortunately most bikes branded as adventure bikes are too heavy and too powerful. A bike like the T7 is better on fuel economy but wears out tyres, chains and brake pads a a little faster but are more expensive to replace not to mention it takes a lot longer to do a mechanical service on a bike that is covered in plastic plus if the plastics get damaged they cost more money, there ain’t much to damage on a DR for example. When it comes to reliability, my DR has done 300,000 Klms only ever needing the gearbox output shaft replacing at 260,000 Klms, and that only took a weekend to do at a cost of about $500 Australian dollars on a bike that cost $8500 brand new and has never been back to the dealers for any work at all, that’s economical in my books. But each to his own, you ride what you want for the reason you want, my big reason is working on a budget.

As a DR rider myself. How does the seat compare? Is it worth the upgrade?
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom Год назад
Hello! Do you mean is it worth upgrading to the T7 or is it worth upgrading the T7's OEM seat? I think the standard T7 seat is fine.. Maybe the seat is worth upgrading, if you're only cruising on highways and stuff.. All the best!

so much for the yamaha quality...
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom Год назад
Thanks for your reply! From what I understand it is normal that enduro boots scratch through the frame paint at times... But it is weird that it seems to happen so fast, I agree.. On the flip side you need to consider that these adventure bikes are generally ridden many more hours compared to race-oriented single-cylinder bikes.. All the best!

Max

I have a Chinese motorcycles and as i was a club at internet about this particular bike we have many members with similar problems. For example corrosion at fuel tank or plastic that lose there colours. The bike cost exactly half the money of tenere 700, is the same category with tracer 7 and all were very ctrict about the quality of this Chinese bike. Please tall me how you see of all this problems is worth to go for tenere 700 as i want more gravel. Some friends have make 50000km with no big problems and the cost of use is small. How is the cost of use for tenere 700 for every day and to go to mountains every weekend?
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom Год назад
I guess the question is whether you plan on going to places where mechanical support is rare. A Yamaha surely gives you peace of mind in those situations. Since I've never ridden a modern Chinese motorcycle, I can't tell you whether they're worth it. I have more than 20k on the T7 at the moment and I'm happy with the bike:) All the best!
@ATasteofFreedom
@ATasteofFreedom Год назад
Ah sorry. I don't have the exact numbers with me, but all together I spent about 15k so far. I'm happy with the bike as it is though..
