This video shows how to replace the standard plastic radiator louvre on the T700 motorcycle with the upgraded aluminium radiator guard from Yamaha. A very nice piece of equipment and vital to have if you plan to take your T7 off-road.

The hard work of putting candy on the bike begins, a never-ending but satisfying job 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Josh, if I may advise, it hurt me when I saw you put the rubber on with the help of the screwdriver. I've done it many times and I've also damaged the rubbers many times. Now they are new and you can't tell, but when they get old they crack more easily. I always did it this way until I learned a way that is not only simpler but also much safer. With my bad English I'll try to explain how to do it, see if I can be understood. With a rope or a piece of electric cable with a sheath that does not damage the rubber. It is a matter of folding it in half and putting it through the hole from the opposite side where you want to put the rubber, the two ends remain on the opposite side. Pass the rope around the rubber and cross it, once is enough. Then it's a matter of pulling the loose ends from the other side of the opening and inserting the rubber band and releasing it by itself, it's a matter of 1 second. This way it is not damaged and is very quick and easy. I don't know if I've been understood, I hope so 😁

I think I see what you're getting at! But I might have to watch a video of it to be sure hahaha. Thanks for that though, appreciated! 👍
@arruntus

@@MVDBR As I have already explained this technique several times and you are right, without seeing it it is difficult to understand, in a moment I have made a video of how to do it. In this case they are dumpers for a gimbal but it is perfectly extrapolated to the case of the radiator protector, it comes perfect. You don't have to use oil, screwdriver or anything, just a piece of rope or electric cable. The video is made fast, to share among friends, but I think that to have done it in the first take, I was surprised because it was acceptable at first, it's enough to understand the technique, or so I hope 😀 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HO0-ZfIHzrw.html I hope on my channel I will also be able to show my two-wheeled girl soon 😁

Hey Josh, little tip when using rubbers is heat them up. Soaking in a bit of hot water helps heaps. 😎😎

@MVDBR 4 года назад
Ahh good tip thanks mate 👌
@alren8477
@alren8477 4 года назад
And if you're in the middle of nowhere and you don't have any hot water you just chew it over and over and over the top becomes very soft and valuable and then it goes straight in😎😎

You wonder why the factories don't just install decent oem equipment at time of building the bike.Thks.
@MVDBR
@MVDBR 4 года назад
Yeah I agree mate but I can see why they'd wanna keep costs down when a lot of people won't ride em where they need the protection anyway. But yeah, I'm hearin ya!

My exact thoughts. They put spoke wheels on for it's intended purpose as an ADV bike. Those that are not going to use an ADV bike for it's intended purpose, can get one of the several other bikes out there....MT or the Tracer. One of the great things about motorcycles of today....so many sub-genres. In the end, factory aftermarket parts are just a common practice for all vehicle manufacturers. Make more money after the initial sale and keep the costumer coming back.

To fine of a mesh Josh. Watch out for grass seeds, they can be a pain in the arse and sometimes very hard to remove if you are unlucky. Just as an opinion; B&B guards and bashplates are very hard to beat. But yeah, good luck with the new toys 👍

@@JohannesDalenMC I thought it was really good quality item. If you search Yamaha Ténéré 700 accessories on Aliexpress you'll find one. Very easy to fit. Just remove one side panel & slip it behind the original plastic one. Double the protection.
