The hotel is set for a full refurb at the end of the year I believe. I'm booked in August, and seen a few reviews that all say the same - rooms needs updating, but lovely place. I'll bet once updated I can't afford it.
Hi Kev, like all your vids they're informative. Wife & I stayed here at Christmas and couple of weeks ago all inclusive, agreed rooms are a bit tired but they are not going to knock off a star for a few months. As you say a complete refurb from Jan 25, gonna take about 7/8 months. As if now the facilities are excellent the food is always first class, the staff are fantastic. Evening entertainment is ok, some very good, table service in the bars. We're choosy about quality of our holidays and this is the only hotel we have returned to and will definitely return again. Sound proofing in the rooms are brilliant, great nights sleep every night...
I love the gran. We were there last year and going again in September. We found the staff came up to give us water once we had checked in. They don't leave it in the fridge. The staff are spot on and the entertainment staff are a good laugh. Also the food is quality, especially if your all inclusive. We hammer the pool bar and restaurant multiple times a day! I do agree the rooms are a bit dated. Also room 486 has the best view.
It is due for a total refurbishment but it’s a fantastic hotel the atmosphere is lovely at night the prices do reflect their acknowledgment of the needed upgrades. I’ve paid the same price for the premier inn in St Andrews! The robes only fit the wanes 😂
Hi Kevin, enjoyed the video and totally agree with everything you have noted. We have stayed there for 10 nights just before Covid and although it was a nice hotel it was a bit dated for 5 star especially at the price. Staying at the Bahia principe this September although a bit further out it is of similar standard at a lot less. Keep up the good work. Erskine just outside Paisley 😂
Yes Kevin should definitely have coffee tea and biscuits and water for a five star wouldn't like the mirror behind the bed but it looks nice just a bit dated
The outdated furniture and the ancient tiles looks that its not 5 star hotel room.......but amazing view and just £125 a night, i think just worthy, deffo not bad
Definitely need more privacy on the balcony for sure !! Bit dated like you said but should look good after the refurb ! £125 isnt bad at all for one night 👍🏻
It's funny, Kevin, every time I watch your videos. I go online and check out the hotel on line . I'm only back from tenerife and I'm planning on going back .I was thinking about November time .I. not sure what's the weather Will be like
Great video Kevin looking for some advice. Poised to book hotel in ternerife for start of October 1 week break. Flights seem expensive right now. Would you advise I booked hotel and held off on flights? Do you have any tips on where and when to book cheapest flights?
Furniture in room shabby. Bed and soft furnishings nice. £125 is ok but after refurbishing it will shoot up. Breakfast looks amazing. Would not stay here for more than a couple of nights. Your opinion was honest.
Keep that robe n gie it tae the wifey fur chrimbo, sorted.we walk up by there then doon tae Barry’s.well used too😢😮very quite your room 👍rat holes😂😂😂.thanks fur the nosey
I've stayed here last July. Nice hotel, dated needs a refurb to keep up to a 5 star standard. There isn't anything wrong with the hotel though to be honest all fine, but fine isn't 5 star. Refurb due January 2025 prices will jump up to reflect that!
Love your videos but I disagree with some of your comments. You get 2 Robes. 1 male and 1 female so you must be wearing the female one. Who really sits on a balcony and if you do you’ve had a rubbish night. Food is the best I have ever had at any hotel, can’t be faulted. Hotel is closing for 11 months from Jan 25 and agree they’re very dated hence why the hotel are doing them up. The pools/area are the best from any 5 star hotel in Tenerife. I have looked at all 5 stars and nothing competes. You should have shown the pool areas and rooftop pool. Keep up the great vids.
Thanks both robes were tiny . Disagree I think balcony is important if it's a 14 day holiday etc, video soon showing all the hotel it was lovely but not 5 star hope the refurb brings it back up.
It's too dated. The dark scratched furniture and ancient floor tiles are seriously depressing. The room looks like a 3* and the bedding and pillows looks cheap too. I don't think it's been updated since the late 90s. Ritz Carlton and Royal River, for example are genuine 5 star hotels. They are relying on the British boomer customer with no taste and who are happy to holiday in rooms like they did 30 years ago.
You simply need to call room service they will fill up the fridge of course you have to pay that’s life With regards to the marks on the coffee table Go out and don’t look at it!!
Oh Kevin... That's never a 5* It's too shabby and the balcony furniture is so crappy. I'd be really disappointed if I turned up to that. That's just my personal opinion.
