Annual traditional festival of flower carpets in La Orotava, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.
On a summer day in June, the streets of the city are decorated with carpets. Carpet paths are laid out right on the roadway of La Orotava in the central historical part of the city.
Carpets are made from flowers, sand and heather. The largest carpet is being recreated on the square near the city hall. On this day, the doors of the city hall are open for everyone to admire the beauty of the carpet from the second floor of the building.
Corpus Cristi is a Catholic holiday dedicated to the veneration of the Body and Blood of Christ. Celebrated in June, the date depends on the date of Easter.
