I will be there for 2 weeks in July & December 👍🏻😁 I watched the protest on walking tours vlog and you’re right in what you say ! The locals are not protesting about the tourist ! They are protesting for a change in the economy & tourist management !
Me and my Katie are going on the 25th of May for 2 weeks, we love Tenerife, and are always made very welcome, and we will always be going back every year.
Thank you for update Kevin on whats really happening with locals protesting, Will be in Tenerife next May and September pg . Great to see our friend outside El Rincon forget his name !!!!.
Dave (Travelon) was at the "protest" in Arrecife( capital of Lanzarote), speaking to locals who assured him tourists remain very welcome. The demonstrations are about lack of affordable housing and poor pay. We'll be in cristianos in June and cannot wait. Keep up the great videos Kev.
I've just got back. The quality of life over there is so much better than the UK. UK has been in economic decline for 15 years plus, I want to move to tenerife it's a such a beautiful place
Thanks for reassuring everyone Kev , bloggers like yourself ,Knight Strider etc should get a bonus off the local tourism cheifs for saving them thousands of pounds of potential lost revenue from worried tourists .
Agree the locals have been pushed out of the tourist areas by air BB etc (sold by locals in many cases to tourists) However plenty areas even just outside the main tourist areas which are far cheaper and plenty unused land could be built on to provide hundreds affordable homes for locals. Guaza ? Fraile? even towards Costa del Silencio ? Bus services excellent and free for locals.. This is really an issue for Government build far far more homes for locals plus the property tax on all sales to tourists 6.5% Tourists pumped hundreds millions euros and jobs into the islands last 40 yrs.
Having seen other vlogs and read up a bit fully understand the locals concerns and it's not about tourists. Its about the islands governments allowing hotels to be built when there isnt much accomodation for staff. Landlords getting greedy turning homes into holiday rentals etc. But because some people stirred the pot painting graffiti saying tourists go home our media have gone into a frenzy sensationalising legitimate concerns and twisting it. Point is the Canaries rely on tourists as a key source of income. Our media though could actually put jobs at risk with their nonsense as people take it at face value and don't go!
As usual, UK media jumping on a story and making a mountain out of a molehill. I'll be in Los Cris in 3 weeks and I'm sure it'll be as brilliant as ever.
I think it’s unfair to moan at people making business in other places when they’re not actually from that place plenty do it in the UK which is why it’s so rife atm but plenty get on with it,kinda just have to get on with it but like you said kev the news are just crazy for twisting everything because everyone is still more than welcome in the canaries
Do NOT listen to the media and all the hype of tourists not welcome in Tenerife. Listen to Kevin (“Scotsman in Tenerife”) he’s not gonna make things up, he tells you as it is, the weather, the cost of flights, best places to go and to avoid. You have got to like an subscribe to this channel, it’s FREE, and it helps him to keep the channel going and up to date with all this information. His videos are short and sweet but the facts are true. ❤
Bravo brother. Respect sir. Thank you for taking the time. Anyone who still listens to MSM, need to wobble there head. They don’t want us ever enjoying our self’s. Absolute crazy times at the moment. One love
Hi kevin . Nice to see you back in Tenerife. Just a quick one can you check out the Labranda suites in Costa Adeje. If possible . We are there in September. No problem if not . X Keith & Joanne.
Thanks for the info Kevin, everyone keeps asking us about the protests cos we go regularly, why the media have to hype it all up & can't report accurately I don't know! We would love to go back any time. S&J 🐘
Brilliant informative video Kev. New subscriber to your RU-vid channel and I’m addicted already ! Been going to Tenerife since late 90s and always receive a warm welcome. Was there for a month last October and again had no problems. Totally agree with you about Sky and GB news, they’re just scaremongering and making things up as they go along. Going to Cristianos end of August for another month and can’t wait. Hope plenty of people watch this video and realise there’s no reason to be put off going to IMO one of the best holiday destinations in the world. Keep these great vids coming Kev. Tenerife, see you soon ! 🌞🍻🌞🍻🌞
Hi Kevin great video totally agree with everything said tourists are very welcome in Tenerife &across all of Spain. Like you I don’t buy newspapers or watch the TV news because stuff saying about Tenerife all false news. Our family was there last July&made feel very welcome wherever we went based in Puerto De La Cruz went down Siam Park no issues whatsoever ever definitely come back100%. Thanks for the update reassuring everyone tourists are very welcome only thing worried about there are scooters but get that everywhere really including my home city Liverpool thanks again keep vlogs coming 👍
Kevin I get ya and have loved all the euro a pint videos over the years. I'm gonna service my daughters car next week. It's went up to 84 quid after I buy the parts. I'm ok with that as I want the guy to pay his workers an actual wage. Love your vlogs mate but I think the days of euro pints and 25 quid services are coming to an end
It’s the same story worldwide. Big business keeping salaries low in the pursuit of larger profit at the expense of the local population. Tourists don’t control the prices of holidays or the salaries paid to the workers. We contribute to the economy but have way of directing where our money ends up.
They don't want too many tourists. It just the British newspapers are saying they just don't want British tourists. They also don't want too many German,Dutch,Nordics and Irish and other nationalities also. 🇮🇪
Kev, love yr vlogs, short n sweet. Just wondering, see that you don’t live there but you’re there lots doing these brilliant vlogs. Do you have to keep an eye on yr flights and how many times yr enter Tenerife because of the 90 days rule. Your passport must have loads of stamps in it. My passport has as I go about 5/6 times a year and always worry when my passport gets stamped they see all my stamps and say something.
