No he dosent, I've just came back from 6 weeks in Tenerife and went to Veronica's about 3/4 times a week maybe more lol, saw a few drunken dickheads getting into fights but I never got any trouble at all....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hi Col, I lived there for 14 months, I wouldn't walk that route at that time of the morning, personally I would rather take a taxi to where I was staying.
My friend - You have balls of steel doing this! I went here around 20 years ago and some very sketchy things happened. Now im planning to almost, create a pilgrimage to where I once went and my anxiety is a little on edge watching this!
I was in Tenerife in 2021 and went to playa to take a look OMG we couldn't get any taxi to stop, even when we waited at an official taxi stop and this was during the day... We had to walk to a hotel and ask them to call us a taxi so we could get back to our hotel ...thanks for this

Hi Col I’m glad that went without any trouble, no vloggers I watch would do that a big pat on the back from me, we’ve been going to Tenerife over thirty years and my wife had her bag snatched opposite the anchor bar she had nothing of value in it except her cigarettes and lipstick, I hope the colour suited him and someone tried picking my pocket outside the Mediterranean palace hotel, it hasn’t put us off we love Tenerife

Been here twice and never had an issue, visiting again in early December staying in Las Americas. Never felt in danger at any point ... But thats not to say nothing will ever go wrong.

Thanks so much Anne - I’m looking to show the balance - especially the Veronicas area - groups of youngsters enjoying themselves safely but at the same time, an awareness of the possible dangers & how to avoid them. Inside the bats down there is fine - nice atmosphere, good varied music etc - just the dodgys who lurk outside that bring it down. By being aware of it, the negative can be turned positive. I’ve walked about few times at stupid o’clock in the morning when let’s say I was a bit intoxicated in the past but yeah a few ladies of the night let’s say ran over and pushed me over. So I definitely learned to have my wits about me after that. It’s just a pity the Police and authorities aren’t more on it to stop the dodgy characters that are lurking about at night. Glad you got back safe and were relatively left alone. A good Vlog and informative. Although stay safe. Not worth having anything bad happen to you for the sake of a Vlog dude. 😎👍🏼
Thanks Timmy - to be honest, i only ever go down there if i’m out with others. Youre bang on about police presence - in years gone by there used to be little armies of police, armed with batons etc & ready to pounce. Nowadays you hardly see any! 👍

You where showing your minerals there Col, very brave. The GoPro coped well with the dodgy/poor light conditions and the sound recording on them is always impressive considering the camera size. I have a GP 10, I used it earlier this month during our weeks stay in Los Cris. My favourite settings "Cinematic Linear + levelling stabilization", it looks a treat when walking through the streets and pavements etc. Good work.

I have done that walk at all times of the day or night in every state. Once you get past the Dubliner you need to keep your wits about you at that hour. I used to live close by and I saw everything that went on there. As far as the pickpockets are concerned. They will pick on the easiest targets so if you look confident they will pass you by and go for the drunkest person. If you think you are being followed the best thing is to let out a shout and attract attention to yourself because they don't want to be identified. The walk from Los Cristianos at night is a nice peaceful one. Just be aware of your surroundings. Johnny is a cool guy.

Many years ago I used to walk back in Los cristianos on my own back to the apartment I was in at 3/4am in the morning. I must have been mad,It was scary I will be honest. I do not advise any lone female do this,Taxi rank is best or try and keep together with others. I will add this was about 12 yrs ago I did this,would never do it now. Thanks so much Tricia. I think its just like the UK mostly - sad as it is it’s a case of being aware late at night. In 1 respect, Los Cristianos was scary because it was so quiet & nobody around whereas on Las Americas, although there were a few dodgy characters lurking, there was also plenty of tourists etc still milling around

Col, just seen this and subscribed straight away! So great for a TFS vlogger to do something different from the ground hog day vlogs of recent zzzzz. I'm a 'new town' in Sussex, it's no different, and people love to slate it, saying how dangerous at night it is! Ridiculous. All the comments saying how brave you are makes me wonder where people live, and whether they've travelled much? You get opportunist thieves in every corner of the globe. Don't flash the cash, don't get so drunk you can't remember your name and be polite. It's really not rocket science.

Talking shite Anne, you try walking alone in that particular spot alone at 3am!.. the place needs constant policing!.. I know a few people who've been robbed at knifepoint round there... yes you get that everywhere but in that particular spot it's rife so col made a great awareness video there and people need to see it!

As you say, Anne is correct in that what goes on there goes on everywhere - even here in Bournemouth. However - there is definite validity in your point - as a tourist hotspot, this strip needs constant police presence - which I think it used to have, but not so much these days. The England-Wales fans fighting back in December being proof. Not a copper in sight. Yet back in early 2000s, a punch up between 2 20yr old brits was met with 6 cops with batons & a kicking in the van on the way to the local nick! This video was for awareness - awareness that it doesnt happen every night as per a lot of exaggerated social media claims but also awareness that the dodgy side still exists. You might not get the fightimg as much but the robberies etc are still a thing. Plus awareness that in most cases, inside the bars themselves is usually fine - as long as you behave yourself 😆

Idk if its just me or if other people feel the same but when abroad were ever you are it's beautiful through the day, the picturesque views of Palm 🌴 beautiful blue seas and skies. Then at night you have the hussel and bussel, people laughing having fun and the lighting i like that too another different vibe. Now Idk about 3 am in the morning it's a heck of a lot different it's almost a bit spooky nobody really about your a man on your own idk how your feeling but I certainly couldn't do it.

I started going to Tenerife in 2013 and Veronicas strip used to be safe at night we used to stay there all night drinking beer and talking to the locals but from 2016 it started going down hill with prostitution muggings and pickpockets it's very dangerous at night even the police officers are a bit weary of the place
Canarians wear coats & scarves at Christmas (in the winter). We wear summer wear. 😂😂😂 the singers…locals…I thought it was chanting at first & maybe near the Hare Krishna temple. Govinda Restaurant they run. You’d be good neighbourhood watch😊. We chat in our street, thank goodness. 😂car park. More music. Golden Mile, nice new information for me thanks 🙏 . Why the big build up? Normal walk through the place. Safe as any European town/city at night. British streets at weekends at club/pubkickout time much more risky.

However, as a Canary Island, it is a province of Spain, governed by Spain & is part of the Spanish economy. Spain is part of Europe & is a member of the EU. So in actual fact, Tenerife, along with the other Canary Islands are also classed as being in Europe. Check with any geographer & they will confirm this for you. 👍
Dont let it put you off in anyway mate - the Gala is absolutely fine. The dodgys all lurk in the dark areas by the bars & are easily avoided. They dont go near the Gala etc.
I've never been to Tenerife but I have been to Magaluf which looks similar but not as spread out ! One thing I am surprised at is how much is closed ! I thought it was a 24/7 party town .
@@thornbird6768 Hi - the Veronicas strip is similar to the Magaluf strip a few years back - mainly 18/30 etc. In this walk, most of the area is closed due to the time. It’s only really Veronicas & Starco opposite that stay open to the 4-6 am times 😁

@@Johan-rg3vo hi - its mainly under 30 but that said you do get a mix of ages, especially early evening. Its only really after 1am it tends to be younger people left. In fact, theres a bar in the centre called Yordis which shows sports on tv, open during the day which attracts all ages. You won’t be made to feel unwelcome at all. If you are there late at night, just be aware there is a pick-pocket issue so keep valuables hidden away & don’t let anyone come to close or any unexpected contact like hugging etc.

Not been near that place in along time, 1990/1991 ish... A friend of ours ended up in hospital with a fractured jaw, all he did was tell a guy to leave his then girlfriend alone. There was a gang that attacked him before anyone else knew what was happening!!

Proper dodgy looking people. It makes me wonder how they get through passport control!! the fact you came out unharmed was a blessing. It was quiet as a rule, but jeez man it looked horific. It was great to see how much Tenerife has changed..for the better. I lived in Las Americas back in '93 for a year so hearing you mention some of the pubs like Lynickers(?!) brought many great memories. I get the whole bag of wot you were trying to grab but if anything the night life has mellowed and thats a great thing rather than from wot your title had the viewers think. So overall your log has given me fond memories and a ponda of given Tenerife another visit. I thank you. Nikki x

I’m sure I’ll be fine! My hotel is only a 10 minute walk and I won’t venture too far at night… I’ll only take my phone out and abit of cash. As long as my phone is safe I’m not too bothered about abit of cash but I will definitely be vigilant… also I’ll try and avoid any sketchy looking areas like dark alleyways, I felt nervous for you seeing you walking in the dark by yourself gave me anxiety lol

I was in Barcelona during recent NYE. We stayed at La Ramblas. Every 5m, they ask if you want to buy weed, white or want to go to disney land. And you don't want to be wasted and alone on the streets at night. They will pick u up, rob u and trow u out at the other side of barca. This is a great night walk tbh!

I fair point Col, back in the early 2000s I stopped out late to visit a German bar near the beach area between adeje & Las Americas by myself forgot name but just off coastal path set back down some stairs to a parade of bars I believe it was the last one @back left hand side. So when I came out I headed back slightly uphill diagonally left towards sun inn area not far from the new sky park they were building @the time a stones throw away from aqua land I forget hotel name but about a ten minute walk to Red pineapple shopping centre San eugenio?. Sorry I digress. So walking back alone up a steep unlite pitched black area was slightly unnerving you have to have your wits about you your on flight or fight mode your awareness is enlighten no end your senses swear you can pick up sounds that aren't really there rodents scurrying in the bushes & undergrowth you feel as though you could be sucker punched from both sides. Anyway I made back safely what an adrenaline adventure, though it started embarrassing for me on first few steps back up the hill from German bar, some girlfriend & boyfriend I came across the boyfriend started showing off, he started singing to me "Dirty old man" I was fuming @the time I was so close to chinning the cheeky bastard I wouldn't of minded I was only in my early 30s @ the time. So yes Col I can relate to your late night vlogs. PS I thought it was only Andrew who covered night shoots hence his channel the nightstrider. I only seen him during daylight hours. Maybe he's got another channel called nightstalker. Lol.

😂😂 Jimbo youre a brave man. Are all the brazzers clean? Not too sure is my truthful answer - although a lot of them have worked there night in nighout for many years so take from that what you will. How much do they charge? Not got the foggiest but i’m guessing with like most street sellers there, don’t say yes to the 1st price - always try & barter.😂
The buildings they were housed in are still there but the bars themselves have changed names/ownership a long time since - those great days are gone sadly! 😉😉👍
Last went there in 83, no desire whatsoever to return although Veronicas looks virtually unrecognisable from what it was then. Just a few very low rent underground bars to keep us all entertained although I did get up in an Irish bar and sang a song called 'The Kerry Recruit' by The Dubliners which, coming from a guy from Leeds (live in London now), seemed to go down well with the 95% of Irish clientele that were present. We also went in nearby Ron's bar quite a few times although that was rather sedate, we only started our evenings off in there. The guy (Ron, who served and seemed to run it on his own) was well into his 50's then so he's probably not around anymore I guess. God I was only 26 and it seems like yesterday.
😆😆 time flies John. I 1st went in late 90s & its changed so much since then. Its actually not as rough as it used to be - just more issues with the pickpockets who are preying on the vilnerable these days 👍
Well, he was right, l was absolutely terrified, what a brave man, anything could have happened especially in that empty tunnel, imagine if a tile became unstuck or a light fitting fell on his head, those palm trees looked dangerous to me too, lm sure l saw a loose fitting paving stone and the muscles on one of those girls good job she wasn’t in a fighting mood, ld never walk those empty streets in the daytime let alone in the lamp lit early hours.

Hi Jim - yes 100% definitely go to Tenerife. Even at 76 years young. The purpose of this video was not to show the island or even the Veronicas area of Las Americas in any negative light. What you see in this video is a snapshot of life in an area that caters mainly for the 18-30 age group at 3am. This specific area has a reputation for pickpockets, fights etc but as you see in the video, none of that happened. Yes it does happen occasionaly - probably as it does around the pubs in your home town on the weekend- but it definiteky doesnt happen as often as its reputation suggests. In all honesty, at 76 I wouldnt recommend you hit this area for a drink at 3am, certainly not alone anyway 😁. However there are thousands of other areas, bars, restuarants etc that you can safely visit & experience the great Tenerife welcome. Check my other videos & those of other Tenerife vloggers for some great examples. Please book your holiday & go - you’ll love it. Thanks for watching my video. 🙏
@@COLSPLACE44 hi and a huge thank you. We are considering H10 Conquistador for a couple of weeks. At our age we generally are tucked up in bed at 8.00 pm (joke) well usually 11 ish and we always eat in the hotels we book AI. We thought about H10 Gran Tinerfe but heard it’s very noisy at night.
@@tangowhisky14 Hi Jim - thanks for getting back - the H10 conquistador is a fine hotel- just at the end of the ‘Golden mile’ area - quite away from the veronicas area in this video. You will be good there - nice & flat, close to the beach etc so no problems at all. A really nice area of town & close to the surfers beach where you can sit & people watch with plenty of beach front cafes etc. The H10 tinerfe is over towards the Costa Adeje side. As far as I know the hotel has no issues & is really nice but its not 1 I am too familiar with to be honest but its a H10, so I would be surpised if it has any problems. You might like to look at a RU-vid channel called ‘Scotsman in Tenerife’ - run by Kevin who actually does hotel reviews. He visits hotels in the area & shows you the interior & facilities in each. Hope that helps! Ps - The whole area isnoerfectly safe - I visit 3-4 times per year without issue. My last videos are purely for information & aimed towards those who visit for the nightlife. 👍
Yes do go to Tenerife and avoid Playa Americas, daytrip ok nothing more. Visit the island it is gorgeous and nothing to do with the veronicas. I suggest you stay at Puerto de la Cruz, far away from british booze bars and a lovely place.
Thanks Michael & absolutely spot on what i was trying to get across. Veronicas in particular has an inherent bad name & my view is that if you take the same care you do on a night out at home, then theres no problem. However if you go out & get trollied with a week’s wages in euros & an iphone hanging out your pocket then youre asking to be targetted! 👍
I had a real fright once when I was walking there too. I saw this massive head with teeth like urinals running towards me talking nonsense, then I realised it was the Shitestrider.😱😂

Hi - thanks for watching/joining. 👍 Costa Adeje is absolutely fine - great variation of bars - most open until 1-2am with cabaraey shows, live music, discos etc. Plenty of restauarants from chinese buffets, italian, - you name it, you’ll find it 😁 Pricewise - local beers from 1€ a pint during day if you look around up to about 2-3 € a pint in evening. Standard 3course meal start at approx 10€ upwards - again worth looking round as theres plenty of choice. Some more upmarket places where you can pay more. Ive never been to Corfu so i can’t give a fair comparison sorry but you wont be disappointed with Costa Adeje. Beaches nice there too. Could be worth you also looking at Scotsman in Tenerife channel as he does hotel visits & more detailed walka around Costa Adeje area. I’m back in June if you want me to look at anything in particular 👍👍
Thanks Jill - i went down the Patch the night before just after 130am & everywhere had closed apart from the nightclub above the Drunken Duck so I didnt bother going down there for this video. Maybe i’ll have a look next time.
@@COLSPLACE44 after midnight Princess Di's is under noise laws, so at midnight they close all their windows but they are still open. They have live act two or sometimes 3 times a night and kareoke inbetween and before and after. Some nights are busier than others. We went nearlly every night, ut's fantastic, esp the barman Daniel, love him to bits and of course Doris Day compare!

Absolutely this. Apart from being spat at, followed & approached by a illegit cabbie in this video, the only shocking footage is that of no muggings, no drug taking, no fights - all of which are people’s perception of what its like each night in Veronicas.

Los Christianos was a sleepy fishing village not long back. In my memory, old guys mending nets, one or two bars. Veronica's was Veronica's even back then. Nice and not nice to see.
Very good vlog Col, its 1 of a kind. Would be brilliant if you could do more of these types, starting a bit earlier, catching the back end of the parque la Paz and getting Veronica's in full swing.👍🏻
