Very interesting to see your minimalist tenkara gear. I carry my gear--nippers, forceps, tippet, small fly box with flies, on a lanyard. The line spool goes in my pocket. My net is a very light weight collapsible spring steel one that folds down very small. I either wear hip waders or wet wade in canvas jungle boots--although if it's summer and there are lots of snakes around, I definitely wear waders! Dont need the bells and cap gun to deter bears! For me, tenkara in Japan always is accompanied by the jingle of bells. I like that sound! Thank you for showing all your gear in this video. Cheers, Steve.
i am in Canada and wish to give you some tips for wild animal like bear. NEVER RUN AWAY, animal can detect fear and weakness in you. you must stay upright and big. NEVER PROVOKE IT. if you scream or throw things at it, it might get angry and decide to attack you. pepper spray and things like that are good in theory, but if you are so close as to be able to use it, it might already be too late. also IF you get attacked, use everything that you have to keep it far away from you. use your fishing pole or a tree branch to slap his face or scare him. use a bag to swing around and slap him. if you got space, run around a big tree to tire him out and keep him from reaching you.
thank you very much for your video! they are very soothing and high quality. if i may ask, do you know of a Japanese RU-vid channel that does "keiryu" fishing video? like Tenkara but with a float and bait.
