This is an episode I am so so excited for and that's saying alot because Jodies episodes never got me hyped or anything but as soon as I saw the set photos I jumped out of my seat to show my mate in college and we are both obsessed with them and can not wait for the episode to air, no matter what happens I'm always happy to see Tennant back.

I have absolutely no idea what RTD is up to,, but I'm gonna enjoy finding out when his era starts airing, I'm imagining if the "Whittaker regenerates into Tennant" stuff is true, that the BBC centenary episode will end with the Doctor seeing their reflection, recognising the old face and then "What... What... WHAT?!

I'm thinking it's more a "degeneration" of sorts, maybe something to do with the fob watch that will inevitably be opened in the finale or whatever it is 13 will go through in that same special, which I'm hoping 11 and 12 will be a part of as well alongside 10 - especially since the selfies Rachel Talalay's posted of her with Peter Capaldi and Matt Lucas are pretty suspicious too (Eccleston's probably not gonna be involved again, unless it's by some magical happenstance that RTD manages to broker a deal for him to come back) the big question is: where's Matt Smith in all this, I wonder? is he going to be the Andrew Garfield of the hype train where he'll have to lie through his teeth about whether or not he's in the special? also I'm wondering if Jodie's already filmed scenes for the special, kind of like what Matt did for Deep Breath - and Jo Martin too, I wonder where she'll fit into all this another point of interest is the fact that 13's TARDIS console set is pretty much dismantled and gone, so either they're creating a mishmash version of 10's old console from storage, we're getting a new console room that will eventually become Ncuti's, _or,_ and this sounds *exactly* like something Russell would do, we're getting a modern recreation of the secondary control room from Tom Baker's era which would be spectacular

I think Russell is not pulling but TAUNTING the strings. With 10 and Donna being announced *JUST A DAY AGO* suddenly all these pics were leaked??? My guess is that Russell ordered someone on the inside to take non-spoiler photos with 10, Donna, TARDIS, and Wilf to generate hype to say, "yes. This announcement is indeed true and here's the proof" to generate hype. Russell knows what the fans are looking for and Russell wanting Doctor Who to be taking notes from Marvel to sorta enter that same shared universe faze, he KNOWS how fans get hyped up over leaked images. Take Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire for example from No Way Home. The buzz that caused from 2 characters returning was on the same shock factor as their in-cinema reveals too. With Russell T Davies even coming out to say he purposefully put out fake rumours to hide his actual plans, I wouldn't be surprised that this "leak" is another one of those only resurfacing now as the pieces come together. It may line up perfectly but in terms of story, he's used his existing characters from the 60th anniversary to string together a fake plot and have them "leaked" so his initial plans are hidden under the blanket from the fans now coming back. Even in his instagram posts for 10 and Donna coming back, he wrote, "THEY’RE BACK! The Doctor and Donna! But… how?! He wiped her memory! If she remembers, she’ll die! But, but… is it a flashback? A dream sequence? A lie? A fantasy? A parallel universe?! Alt Doctor? The Land of Fiction?! You’ll find out in 2023 as Doctor Who hits its 60th" This man KNOWS we’d assume the various possibilities on why 10 and Donna are together. Putting out clues and various theories to hide the truth is all his game. My guess is that they’re just there before the events of the series 4 finale. That’s Jodie’s TARDIS they’re standing around. Logical explanation is that they just tracked it down post regeneration from Jodie to Ncuti. My guess is that Ncuti is wandering the streets like 12 did in Deep Breath while 10 and Donna found out the distress call from a TARDIS. Maybe the TARDIS did blow a hole in time and space and that's why all Doctors and companions alike are together. Personally with me the Degeneration doesn't sit well with me tbh. After The Timeless Child, my perception on the Doctor's lore and Gallifreyan lore is REALLY cloudy for me now. After the damage Chibnall did, I'm still a little iffy on the fact "you'll be revisiting funerals but just the old favourites." I'm fine with that happening but I think it's better to do that off-screen during The Doctor's retirement faze.

I sincerely hope the don't go with the "Tennant is the 14th Doctor" angle because that is INCREDIBLY disrespectful to Ncuti Gatwa. "So Ncuti, your gonna be the 14th Doctor, great for you. So we're gonna take that title away from you in exchange for an actor who already had their time in the sun 10 years ago to really hammer home the fact that you're secondary."

I hope this rumour is true. Tennant is my doctor and i am already loving seeing him back. Whilst I am excited for ncuti to come abroad. Having Tennant back as a new incarnation of the doctor would certainly be interesting. It feels like I am a kid again, seeing Russell back and David and Cathrine and now Bernard is back. This is all too much to take and I am loving it. 2023 unfortunately seems so far away.

I don’t think he is the tenth doctor. He’s the 14th with the tenth doctors biology, but the memoirs and influence of 11, 12, 13, and at least knowledge of Jo Martin. This could be really interesting

What if David Tennant is playing the Doctor-Donna and not the next doctor? That would explain the reason he looks older. And the reason why his outfit is different.

If true it'll be so cool if not maybe it's the metacrisis Doctor who dresses more dark to reflect the human side of himself and maybe has gone to find Donna and see if she is still smart enough to save the world

What I really wouldve liked is if Tennant came back and he played the Time Lord Victorious and he could've been the main villain of the special. That way, you could bring back Tennant and have him play a different kind of character (kinda like Dr Strange in MoM) and I'm sure Tennant would love to do that as he is now famous for his villainous roles like Jessica Jones and Good Omens. I'd even go a step further and maybe say that the Time Lord Victorious used the laws of time to rewrite his history and turn himself from a Time Lord into the Timeless Child so he can live forever and only the Doctor himself can stop him. And maybe Donna is the only companion who could bring the Tenth Doctor back to sense. You can even say it was the Time Lord Victorious who gave 11 his new cycle on Trenzalore and that turned him into the Timeless Child and caused history to change. Now, none of that is probably going to happen but the fact that Doctor Who has set my mind on fire with speculation and theories again for the first time in years is a sign that whst theyre doing is absolutely working!

I always allow myself to get excited. I might end the season not feeling it, or maybe an episode didn't work here or there, but I'm always hopeful for the next. So I hope that Reddit post is correct. 3 specials with David and Catherine would help bring back some of the viewers that left, and from that it's just reeling them in to stay.

I am very nervous if this is true because it can go very wrong. Some major changes in canon worked out, some didn’t and this can go either way. The story had better justify this or I and some others will be cross.

I think Jodie's doctor could attempt to regenerate in Gwata's 14th doctor but if Jodie's doctor had opened that golden fob watch with all her past pre-Harnell memories then if the whole regeneration regression is to be believed, the doctor will at first suffer a regression as a result of opening that fob watch and the mind compensating for the influx of memories and knowledge the Doctor will have. So it'll mean we will not see the 14th doctor appear proper until the middle of the 60th or the end of it.

theory here - jodie opens the watch, but it actually wipes out all memory of the timeless child. its enough for her to regenerate, she regenarates outside and then we get the teaser for the 60th with the dark cloak of ten swishing in the grass and looking at himself and then saying what? what? just like in titanic Christmas special. ten has to find out why hes come back, along the way wilf rings and says its happening shes remembered and then we get the title queue for tens intro - i am also very looking forward to this as in the 60th

Alot of people were worried about the idea of David coming back for a full series including me but the 3 specials rumor has me really exited because we get all the benefits of him coming back as the Doctor but we still get a new Doctor.

I think the Reddit post is accurate except for the regeneration aspect cause to me that feels like total bs and if they actually didn’t could hurt the show more then it helps cause that to me would totally define the new rtd era and him undermining Jodie and Gatwa cause they both would be involved in the worst case of fan service and be a continuity breaking jumping the shark moment

Now he is using the same shoes as i have because i bought them as they didnt have the right cream ones so i bought a cream pair but with the black logo of converse so hes using those shoes aposed to the original one. while im fine with jodie regenerating into tennant for the 60th, im not a fan of calling him 14, to me he's the 10th doctor and calling him 14 just feels really wrong, i'd much rather he be considered like a "10-2" or something and ncuti be 14 as having 14 both be a previous doctor AND only there for a few episodes to me is like shifting all the doctors numbers over because of the introduction of the war doctor

Might be done as less of a REgeneration and more of a DEgeneration? Some timey gallifreyan bollocks that regresses the Doctor backwards in their lives but gets stopped when the process reaches Tennant. Some Donna nonsense happens, maybe her brain going boom by remembering is what stops it. I don't know. Regardless of what happens, it's all mental balls and it's wonderful.

Yazmin Finney is trans so it's possible that her character will be too - it's possible that she just chose the name Rose at random, which triggers a memory for Donna, which is why the doctor gets involved. I don't fully buy the 'Jodie will regenerate into Tennant' theory right now, because I just don't see why he'd go 'oh, an old face again, time to dig out a bizarro world version of my old outfit and sonic!'. Personally i find it really hard to believe that jodie will regenerate into a white man to clean up the mess lol they would be admitting how they screwed up and goes against there current agenda but we'll see :)

The begining of this new era will essentially be The Force Awakens where it'll be a soft reboot of the series to bring it back from the ditch that Chibnall has pushed it down and once all the festivities for the 60th are over, we can dive into some newer, fresher plots from series 14 onwards in 2024.

I LOVED Capaldi's doctor, but I was glad that the awful stories and scripts he was stuck with are gone. was cautiously optimistic when they cast a female doctor back then. waited for fan reactions, and in hindsight I'm glad I didn't see a second of her run. I'll surely watch the special with Tennant this time. I also 100% agree that RTD put acting skills first, and agenda second. but it is still there and stronger than ever from the sound of it so my expectations are set below 0. btw since you made a big deal out of it: if people don't like the new doctor, it's because of tokenism, not the other ism word.

I actually... kinda hate this idea. Bringing back David Tennant like this is almost... no it IS... an admission that he is bigger than the show. That he’s more important than the show. That the base concept of the show doesn’t work and if stuff goes to shit pull back old actors to ‘save’ it. I’ll save absolute judgement till we see it but... it very much feels against the whole concept of change and moving on that the show has had for nearly 60 years. I mean, whenever we get a new actor for the Doctor they’re asked how they’re going to play it. Which Doctors they’ll copy and imitate. And they all say they’ll do their own thing. They move on and do something new. This feels like a step back. Not forward.

I'm very confused! I thought all these leaks and announcements were related to the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who, and not just an 18th anniversary for NuWho... Further, I thought this was supposed to be a single anniversary show, but now you say it's a series of Specials... Also, I don't accept that the Curator is a future Doctor, as it really doesn't make any sense to me that the character would do that - it is more likely to my mind, that the Curator is a mental projection from K'ampo Rimpoche, who had sat out the Time War on Earth, and who is now aiding his old student, just as he once did... Well, that's how I prefer it... Anyway, I hope we get some Classic news soon, otherwise it really won't be a 60th Anniversary, and I shall be hugely disappointed (and I've damn-well had enough of that feeling since Capaldi left!). I think this "leak" is full of shit. We already know that what's his face, sorry he has a weird name and I don't want to butcher the spelling. Anyway, we know he's going to be the next Doctor not David Tennant. The rumors of David Tennant coming back as the 14th Doctor are old news. Yeah he likely will be coming back for the 60th Anniversary, we already knew that, but as the 14th Doctor when we already know that someone new has been announced as 14, that doesn't make any sense. Also the story makes zero sense as well. Donna had her memories erased and it was said that she ever remembered the Doctor again she would die. Obviously this has to be the Doctor and Donna taken from some point in the past while they were still together, before Donna was made to forget who the Doctor was. There are also rumors I heard that the past Doctors that show up in the 60th won't actually be from the past but from alternate universes where the Doctor never regenerated. That could potentially also explain the Doctor and Donna still being together, why he's in a different outfit. I also very much doubt that this woman can be Donna's daughter considering we last saw her only 12 years ago and this new woman is obviously much older than 12. Donna would of had to have a daughter named Rose before she even met the Doctor to have a fully grown adult daughter. I'm also fairly sure she is going to be a new companion cause with just the tiniest bit of research I was able to find that she's slated to appeared as Rose in series 14 episode 1 and the only other actor listed to be in that episode is the new Doctor not David Tennant. So this "leak" is absolutely full of crap and just making shit up based on some ambiguous set photos that really don't reveal a damn thing about the plot. This seems to happen every time set photos leak by the way. They tell us things about what the plot is going to be and then the episode actually airs and it's not at all what the leak said it was. At least before they were honest about the fact that it just speculation based on the set photos they had at the time but this article is trying to claim they 100% know the plot when they're clearly making shit up. I wouldn't be apposed to David Tennant coming back as a future Doctor at some point but clearly with the announcement of what's his face, that can't be what's happening right now. This is nothing more than the typical "We're bringing back past Doctor's for the Anniversary" and not we're bring back a past actor to play 14.
