Yes it was like the Auburn Chris Davis run back on Alabama a decade ago when the Announcer said “ They aren’t going to keep them off the field tonight . Well worth the fine and it was also a work of Art. The much ridiculed UT Orange in the 21 Century became the most beautiful color in the football universe that night . Seriously I mean aesthetically it was a masterpiece.
I was at the game and just got to the field by the second goal post as it was coming down, oh man the whole crowd stopped and started cheering as the first one went down, and then we on our side stormed and got ours down and after that it was just a sea of orange in the entire field
Man, both this and Iron Bowl 2013 were easily my favorite CBS telecasts... And this is already the cherry on top... what a run that CBS and the SEC has had for over 3 decades.
Watched with my "Dixieland Delight" of 32 years, best game ever, best after game ever, awesome and wonderful! No better celebration for a football game, college football at its finest! CBS at its finest showing the after game and the goalposts coming down, oh yeah, Dixieland Delight was a beautiful touch by the Vols!
I got chills up and down my spine watching this! .... and I’m not even a Vols fans, I’m a Badgers fan! Great win, this is what college football is all about!
As a student who was in the front row for this game - thankyou. Seeing it from this angle made me cry. What a beautiful, beautiful moment for all of us.
Been a long time Vols fan, been Neylan several times, since the days of Peyton & Tee Martin being there. This was just such a great feeling winning this one. I was up on my coffee table, screaming at the top of my lungs, with tears in my eyes. What a fantastic win. It’s Monday now it still gets me misty-eyed seeing this. Been a long time coming. We still have more work to do though Vol Nation. Lets support these boys all the way to Atlanta
Pathetic peyton didn't win a championship Tee Martin did. If peyton had went to Ole miss I would have a lot of respect but he chose Rocky top and didn't win championship or HEISMAN LOL 😂 and Georgia might have something to do about a trip to Atlanta lol 😂 keep dreaming lol lol lol 😂
@@CL-hl8ui What a treasure. I have a UT Manning jersey but haven’t been able to get it signed but I was able to get Peyton to sign my Colts Super Bowl jersey. I guard it with my life 😃
As a bama fan, I’m actually not mad. This is just beautiful. This is college football. Take out the top dog, rush the field, take all the goal post, run them out of the stadium and drop them in the river. It sucks being a fan of a team everyone wants to beat. This looks fun😂
Hats off to you sir! Unbelievable atmosphere and it defines college football in the south and the fans they have! Tennessee and Alabama IS what made the SEC the premier conference! Coming down to the last play, no time, then just a beautiful scene! Gets no better for a football game than between these two teams...Great attitude man!
Watched the game with my "Dixieland Delight" of 32 years, best game ever, best after game ever, awesome and wonderful. College football at its finest! CBS at its finest for showing the goalposts coming down and the music, amazing time!
This is the best game I can remember in the last 50yrs (as long as I've been a fan) except in 1983(?) when Tenn went for a 98yd touchdown....and made it!!! I screamed so loud (I was at work) that security came from the other end of the mall to see what was wrong, ROFLMBO!!! ROCKY TOP YOU'LL ALWAYS BE HOME SWEET HOME TO ME, GOOD OLD ROCKY TOP, ROCKY TOP TENNESSEE!!!!!!
I love every bit of this and watched it several times already. The music goes perfectly with the crowd. What a beautiful sight on a Tennessee Saturday night in the Neyland Stadium with 100,000+ fans. Thank you for the upload.
As a fan of a team in another conference, I'm happy to see this happen. I always thought Tennessee was OK and to win like this and finally slay the boogeyman, beat Alabama, I do not blame you guys for being so happy. You did it Volunteers, be proud of this, but don't rest. Georgia is coming up and that will be the big test, but for now, enjoy it.
Great video & congrats on the WIN! The rush of fans on the upper right rushing to the lower section reminded me of "World War Z" scenes. What's amazing is not one single person was killed when rushing the field (as in the recent Indonesian stadium massacre). Again, congratulations VOL Nation.
Sweet Lord that's beautiful!!! I am still jacked up!! I hope all our guys got hugged a lot on that field cos I want em to know how much Vol Nation loves them!!! GBDO
The best part about this is that this video is being recorded in the Bama section. You can hear them all start to cheer at first because of how ugly the kick is. Then they get quiet when they realize it’s still heading towards the posts. Then the loud roar of the UT fans. Truly an amazing moment for vol fans
You could hear them dropping one f-bomb after the next after the kick went through the uprights. Sounds of pure joy to hear them suffer after gloating for so many years...
They were sprinkled in all over the stadium. We had a couple of guys behind us (they were pretty chill though). I’m sure when you got a few bunched together, the reactions were quite hilarious.
Safer to stay where you're at. They're crazy on the field. After watching the celebration and listening to the band Alabama's Dixie Land Delight for about 15 minutes we left and there was no traffic to deal with.
That game spoke volumes!!!!!!! After 15 yrs, this game was SPECIAL!!!!!!! Jos Heupel is an offensive genius so if your smart Tennessee, give him what he wants!!!!!! A big CONGRATULATIONS to all!!!!!!!!!!!
Kind of sad to see alot of young people with their phones out focused on recording rather than immersing themselves in the moment. Put the phones away next time!
Be interesting to see if intersecting laser light beams might work to put virtual goal lines up only when needed. No obstructions for players to accidentally run into and would disappear when not required. The horizontal line would have to be addressed as well. Back in the day goal post were two post wood. Not sure if the modern ones are steel or aluminum. They are quite tall for better visibility for kickers and to see if attempts are good. This will be a 55 yard attempt. The kick is up,,,, oh oh hooked it right, no score.
Not a Tennessee fan, but this was awesome! Unless you're from the South, you just don't get it. College football is serious stuff around here.. waking up on a crisp autumn morning, the electricity in the air and tailgating. There is nothing like it!! P.S. GOOOOO DAWGS!!!! #uga #football #bleedredandblack #nationalchamps #doitagain2022
Spend my dollar On beer Parked in a holler 'neath the mountain moonlight Fuck bama Hold her uptight, Against the wall make a little lovin' All night A little turtle dovin' on a Mason-Dixon night Fuck bama Fits my life, Fuck bama oh, so right Fuck bama My Dixieland delight
The stadium is enormous!!. Then right behind the field you have the Neuse River. Boats are everywhere. Right down the street is Old Knoxville. You can walk from one bar/restaurant to another. And of course Cumberland Street. Which they completely closed. Due to the madness. We have Kenny Chesney playing in the background. He is from Knoxville. There was Peyton Manning there. Last time we beat Alabama was when Peyton was quarterback. We did the same thing took down the gold post buried it in the river. Go Big Orange
Tennessee put up some cheap goal posts and stored the good ones for this game. They knew they were coming down if the Vols won. Smart move guys. Also if you'll notice they're smaller and lighter than the regular ones because the last time they came down back in '98 some people got hurt when they fell down. These uprights are thin and smaller in diameter.
Yeah...that's not true at all. In fact, those goal posts had been standing since the 1998 season. But, the posts that ended up in the river were not the ones that got torn down. Stadium security did indeed foresee the issue and pre cut a set and stored them under the student section. The torn down ones were swapped with the safer ones. And those were the ones thrown in the river. The torn down ones will be cut down and stored until the next time the goalposts are torn down. So on and so forth. This was indeed done to prevent any injuries like what happened in 1998. But NCAA regulations explicitly give dimensions for "field equipment." Including the uprights. You can't just swap out goal posts for flimsy, smaller diameter ones lol.
It looked like a bench clearing brawl but no brawling. From up there they look like ants that somebody kicked their pile. Security had said no one was allowed on the field after the game as per SEC rules and regulations.
Alabama played it last year when they beat Tennessee. Since Bama likes it so much we played it for them here to. They're going to be hearing it a lot over the next few years. With the way Saban controlled the clock in the last minute he's getting like the Bear when the Bear called timeout playing Mississippi with just seconds remaining that gave Mississippi a chance to get set up and kick the winning field goal that was at about the time he retired.
Nah, only like a couple of students tuitions. They have boosters that pay for storming the field and brining down the goal posts anyway for moments like this.
Google Randy Boyd's ( President of IT ) reaction on this - Randy, what's that going to cost you ? Randy - don't care, we're going to do this, every time
