What gorgeous natural horses you have. You look so lovely riding them so gently and considerately and on some with just a saddle pad. They must really enjoy the life they have. I always wonder why some owners of TWH put massive stacks, chemicals and chains to get them to do that weird forced sick big lick gait. Why on earth do they torture and abuse their beautiful horses like that??

The padded shoes are used just to enhance the gait. They have been scientifically proven to not cause the horses pain and discomfort when used legally along with the 6 ounce chains. The chains are used for proprioception which is the awareness of the body’s movement. Soring is a federal crime and the Horse Protection Act of 1970 forbids it. Each horse (including flat shod) is inspected before they enter the show ring and right after they exit the show ring if they place or get randomly selected. There’s a reason Horse Plus stayed clear of the inspections and didn’t take their horse off the trailer. At a show if they bring a noncompliant horse they are getting a ticket just like everyone else. The USDA is responsible for the HPA’s enforcement and you can find the specifics of the regulations it put in place on the USDA website.

@@Waywardequestrian But why do they need enhancing? Where do the scars come from? Why are sick big lick competitors so angry and violent when someone films their gorgeous horses. They should be proud if they have nothing to hide. HP did not need to get their horse off the trailer. You know they were not really there to parade around. If Tawnee had tried to film the inspections they would have been physically abused. A bit like Clant when he had to get his pepper spray out. Do you actually think those big lick horses look like they enjoy their work? The sweat and puffing when they have barely trotted one circuit of the show ring, the fear in their eyes, the blood from their mouths. So many examples at every single event. Big lick is so far away from the way you keep and treat your lovely horses I am so surprised you are an advocate.

@@scoombs8955 Why do horses need to be ridden when they are no longer necessary for our survival? Twh aren’t the only breed to use shoeing to enhance gaits or maneuvers. Saddleseat uses padded shoes to enhance gaits as well. Reining uses shoes to enhance their horses slides. Enhancement doesn’t mean to the detriment of the animal. What scars? They’re not “sick big lick” competitors. “Big lick” is not a discipline and never has been. It was originally a term used to describe the size of a horse’s stride. When the anti’s took it and turned it into a slanderous term to mean a sored horse with no proof is when most people stopped using it. Even if they have nothing to hide they have been getting filmed by Clant for years and all he needed to do was slow down footage and people think their horses are sored with no proof needed. I’m aware horse plus was there to harass people. That wasn’t their first time “protesting” it was just their first time without a leash on. If Tawnee had tried to film inspections she would’ve been asked to present her horse for inspection which the USDA’s VMO’s and the DQP’s have every right to ask of someone on the grounds of a show, exhibition, sale, or auction. You are aware that Clant pepper sprayed youth riders on their horses right? He pepper sprayed two minors in the face and very well could’ve pepper sprayed their horses. Those padded performance horses do enjoy their work. If they didn’t they wouldn’t make great padded horses. They aren’t trotting they are gaiting. They also don’t sweat going half way around the ring. After a few trips around the ring, sure but not half way around the ring. There’s no fear in their eyes. There’s no blood in their mouth. So many examples from so many events of them being compliant with the HPA. I support and advocate for Horse Protection Act Compliant horses. Not sored ones.

@@scoombs8955 Horse Plus deletes comments so I’m going to say this here where it can’t be deleted. Gen’s Ice Glimmer has lost weight since becoming a resident. There’s a reason they filmed him at an angle with Grey and don’t post pictures of him often. He also hasn’t had a topline since his time on pads. That’s also not making it sound nice that’s what they are. Plastic pads. If you go to Glimmer’s Facebook page and go through the pictures you can see he never had a topline in the 8 years of being owned by Clant. He was never rehabilitated (the ears are a clear sign of that) and Scars don’t heal. Scars don’t go away. They are permanent. The fact that he no longer has any visible scarring is indication that his feet were just shaved in the first place

@@scoombs8955 Glimmer isn’t the only horse they aren’t taking care of either. Mirri, Cam, Cash, Mr.Hawaii, Pearl, Bandit, and many others have all lost weight and body condition during their time there. Bozeman’s feet were neglected for 6 months. Cherish the young saddlebred has disappeared. Was she transferred, euthanized or adopted? They haven’t announced Candy and Chance as transferred on their social media yet.
