I was missing my daughter who passed 01/2018. I couldn't sleep. I got my dog and went outside. I was looking at the stars and talking to her. Grateful for 35 years. Yearning for more that will never be... Tennessee whiskey was her favorite song. I came inside and picked up my phone. This was at the top of my feed. This is a beautiful rendition of Tennessee Whiskey. Thank you for making me cry and smile at the same time. The synchronicity of the universe can be humbling. Tonight, it was so. Love you Mae Blessings to all
I’m so sorry for your loss. I know your pain! My dad passed away 7/12/19 and this was his favorite song. We played it during his celebration of life. It’s still so hard to listen to this song.
avi mae Goodbyes hurt the most when the story was never finished...💙 Life is sometimes taken way to short and the wondering of why will always ponder in our minds !! My prayers go out to you and your family in these troublesome times of heartache!!
@voiceplay my son has listened to this song religiously since he was 6 months old, it’s been the only thing to calm him down enough to fall asleep. Thank you for the many peaceful nights 🥹
Wear headphones or use a good sound system for this!!! I promise you'll be glad you did. If you are listening on a phone or computer you probably think this is pretty but a bit thin. The bass resonates with so many low frequencies you miss half the experience otherwise, even on his solo! Geoff's voice is incredible but you need the speakers that can handle it or it just disappears. Eli and J also have much fuller voices and Layne's beat boxing takes on a new dimension when you can hear the lower frequencies. This is true for all their songs, by the way. For years I thought they were good but not awesome. Then one day I switched to headphones and was blown away.... On the same songs. These men have chops!
Those runs, though. First chorus: Eli - Check out what I can do. Second chorus: J - I can do that. Third chorus: Geoff - I can do that . . . way down here. Fourth: And now we can all do it together! The whole song is like a game of "hold my beer, and watch this". :)
Only one man I know can get with this group vocally, And for this alien you would need Deejay Young." And his name is Dimash Kutenburgen or something like that.
@@APDTTMH Kudaibergen. Or with a Q, Qudaibergen. They're changing it to be in-line with Kazakh custom instead of western. Yep. He's extra. I went from nearly 24 months of obsessing on Dimash to (now) obsessing on VP. They aren't REALLY comparable in any way, but they're so extraordinary musically that it's hard to touch them. I think it's the combination of artistry and skills, but I really find it hard to define. Dimash and VP never forget that they're doing a performance and must entertain - and they never forget that the musical artistry has to come first. Thanks for bringing it up, I struggle to understand my narrow-focus obsessions with them both. It's the complexity that sounds so simple that slays me.
1st time I ever heard of these boys was today. To say they blew me away does not do them justice. Their voices are as smooth as Tennessee Whiskey. My God! The talent among these 5 boys is nothing short of phenominal. I've been tuned out of new music for at least 10 years. 1 song, this song brought me back home. Me, a decrepit disabled old lady counting time till this crappy life is over, fell in love with music again after a very long time. I actually sat and watched their videos all day today. They moved me and touched my soul like nothing has in what feels like forever. Made me laugh, soothed my soul and their video Oh Holy Night made me cry. They have such an amazing gift. I feel like I just want to say thank you to them. Not sure why I I think it's ok to share so much info other than it just feels like the right thing to do. They should know that sharing their gift helps people. I damn sure needed it although I didn't realize it till today. So I hope they know that I appreciate them. Shew... That was a mouthful... Sorry yall
Feels soothing doesn't it maam? Just listening to some music with real talent, I'm younger than most who probably appreciate this song but God is it nice to listen to, if I feel tired. Hope you're still having a nice life and still be happy.
First time listening to VoicePlay. Every gentleman in the group is an unmissable and integral part of the sound. I love how disciplined and crisp their voices sound. Special mentioning of the bass singer. That has to be one of the best bass singing I've ever heard! Without a true bass (and not just someone throwing their voice) an accapella group is not an accapella group.
His name is Geoff Castellucci and he also has solo tracks out. The vids are here on RU-vid. And there’s a lot more VoicePlay vids to find too! Some very silly, others are art in the highest form. Some manage to combine the two - don’t ask me how. 😊
If you love this, you definitely need to check out #HomeFree! They are a 5-person acapella country band, & their bass, #TimFoust, has a 5 octave range! He’s well known for blowing subwoofers at concerts, & making things rattle because he gets so low! Their concerts are amazingly fun parties, & their harmonies are sweet & superbly done. Sorry-I’m definitely a #HomeFry here, but I’m also a fan of Voice Play & Geoff Castelucci. Both groups are phenomenal, with superb basses. Incredible talent from everyone in both groups!
@@JaimeDornanLady Thank you so much for your comments and suggestion. I will definately check them out. Very nice of you. Greetings from the Netherlands 😊
Why did you have to go and combine one of the most beautiful songs with y'all's beautiful voices? I'm in love...Eli and J. None killed that famous run! And Geoff...that was my favorite part.
You been really putting out some great music recently and quickly becoming one of my favourite music groups. Great work guys. Smooth as Tennessee whiskey!
Here I am an old happily married woman crushing on a boy band. Now my fantasy is introducing you to one of my single daughters.Ya'll are phenomenal. It is amazing that your covers are even better than the originals.
Uh, at late thirties to early forties I'd hardly call them a BOY band. And they occasionally have a woman join them. But definitely an a capella group of guys.
Every. Dang. Song. Every song... one dude opens his mouth to sing a note, and I fall in love. Then, another dude sings a note, and I'm like, Nope... I'm in love w/ him... and then another.... and I forget the other two exist.... and so on. As a group, y'all are amazing. As individuals, y'all are amazing. I only recently discovered you guys on youtube. I am working my way through your online library. Guys, your work blows us away. Just thought I'd say hello from Georgia. Thanks for the tunes.
That's subharmonic, with a little bit of practice(okay probably a lot of practice til it sounds good) you can do it. You sing the note an octave higher and then relax your throat and it slips down an octave. I don't really know how to explain it but there are tutorials on RU-vid. Just search for "subharmonic singing". :)
I wouldn't say a rare find at all. I think acapella is just not a niche is just not as thoroughly promoted. But if you're actually looking for it, there is simply more Talent than can be showcased on that Grand superstar level. Thank God for RU-vid and all of these platforms that have given everyone the ability to Showcase their own Talent. Look at all the street performers throughout Europe and New York and Philly and La. I mean, the world is just teeming with effing Talent. And the more you watch these videos or travel the more you realize just how much of it we're missing out on because it just can't all be showcased. I saw a video of a Filipina girl who apparently is famous on Tik Tok now. Her voice is amazing. she covered the Whitney Houston version of I Will Always Love You outside on a dang karaoke machine. And her vocals and her ability to blow had people in the comments actually comparing her to Whitney. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-023CWTfHiWs.html . Anyway my point is there is an insane amount of HIGH LEVEL talent out there. And thanks to technology it's way easier to find nowadays
I don’t know who you 585 thumbs down are, but you need to look up “talent” in the dictionary....... it’s different but it’s nothing short of amazing. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
THAT. WAS. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Was not expecting some of those notes!Your friends over on Home Free would be proud😄. Quick question:Who does the liking and commenting for the videos? Is it a collective agreement kind of thing, always the same person, or do ya'll take turns? Thanks for the awesomeness!Love from VA!
And I sing it without even knowing and I mean I can sing all the the vocals, the deep are more comfortable and I deepen the high, but I sing it all the time or just hum it. Store, bus... yeah, you get the picture.
Me listening to this for the first time: "It's very nice but not really my kind of music, I don't know if I'll _love_ it..." Me listening to this for the 7th time: "Dammit, VoicePlay got me again." **gives up and sets the vid on loop**
@@michaelmcdonald2005 I love that one! My favorite to listen to Eli is Carry On My Wayward Son. Geoff introduced me to Voiceplay, but Eli made me subscribe and follow them.
I have to say, since I discovered VoicePlay, I've watched this video atleast 15 times....Apart from the obvious observation that these guys are not guys...but Gods HOW THE HELL DID I NOT NOTICE THEY ALL HAD GLASSES OF WHISKEY?!?!?!
I came here to hear another amazing bass part, and I wasn't disappointed with Geoff's solo and lovely bassline. But Eli stole the show in this one. His voice is so perfect here with that soulful intensity. And I forgot the drums were beatboxed for about half of it - Layne did a perfect snare here that made me want to two-step. And J's and Earl's parts tied it all together in perfect smoothness. This is a work of art.
This is just... YES! 😍 Thank you guys for another masterpiece! All of your voices just keep getting better and better 😍 And can I just say - Geoff... That's all.
@@TheChickenlittle11 aww yes! these guys are just amazing and absolute pleasure to listen to ❤️ Mentalist? I used to be big trash haha ☺️😂 what about you? And how did you find out about mentalist? ☺️☺️
I looked at your about tab on your profile and you mentioned the mentalist, which I’m glad he finally was able to find and kill red john after close to a decade of searching for him.
@@TheChickenlittle11 ugh yes that was way too satisfying!! Poor Patrick and all the things he had to go through 😢 But I was soo happy he got the happy ending he deserved with Lisbon ❤️
As someone with painfully chronic insomnia, VoicePlay gives me some happiness amongst my pains in my life. I am so thankful for all of these wonderful artists 😌
Before go to bed, Soak your feet in the warm water (96 degree) with vinegar for 30 minutes, water has to be above your ankles. Then use warm water to rinse off your feet. You can see the results after 4 weeks by doing this. It helped a lot of people suffering from chronic insomnia in my hometown (I am Chinese). Good luck to you!
“Let’s all wear ties and not tell Geoff” Literally laughing about him being the odd one out... every a cappella group has that one person like that, for example: in Pentatonix it’s Mitch, and in Voiceplay... I guess it’s Geoff?
VOICEPLAY!!!!! You have been an incredible acapella and singing with the likes of Rachel Potter makes you the group to "be" seen with. It pleases me to know that you are not trying to manipulate your talent and professionalism with "billboard" voices, but remain steadfast and loyal to yourselves. To sing Tennessee Whiskey as a cover to both George Jones and Chris Stapleton versions is incredible. But when Voiceplay steals it from Jones and Stapleton, it is a notch you should be very proud of upon on your wall of an incredible Voiceplay sounds. Thanks fellas... INCREDIBLE!!!
Its almost impossible not to play this song repeatedly. I got hooked after i was introduced to it by my wife to be. This is one song i'll always remember her with.
Hey Guys, I’d like to see if all can hit out of the park with this artists song - PURPLE RAIN OR LET’S GO CRAZY by Prince. You guys did extremely excellent job with the Tennessee Whiskey by Christopher Stapleton.
I discovered you by chance on youtube and I love what you do. Your music, choreography and covers are just remarkable. Kudos to you and keep it up. Hello from France.
Wow! That was incredible guys.... all those runs. Just... wow. I think this was one of the best work you guys did. So refined, like a good old whiskey...
The vocal development and clarity of resonance in this song is exceptional. Timing and retaining phasing is really exceptional. Well done harmonies punctuate the version. Great arrangement
Wow... What a Beautiful Job. Oh my Lord I enjoyed spending the last few minutes With You all. I just happened up on this video. My SOUL is on fire with delight Thank you Sooo Much. So nice..So nice Soooooo Nice
**LYRICS** Used to spend my nights out in a barroom Liquor was the only love I've known But you rescued me from reachin' for the bottom And brought me back from being too far gone You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey You're as sweet as strawberry wine You're as warm as a glass of brandy And honey, I stay stoned on your love all the time I've looked for love in all the same old places Found the bottom of a bottle's always dry But when you poured out your heart I didn't waste it 'Cause there's nothing like your love to get me high You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey You're as sweet as strawberry wine You're as warm as a glass of brandy And honey, I stay stoned on your love all the time You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey You're as sweet as strawberry wine You're as warm as a glass of brandy And honey, I stay stoned on your love all the time You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey Tennessee whiskey Tennessee whiskey You're as smooth as Tennessee whiskey Tennessee whiskey Tennessee whiskey
