I so much enjoyed the spirit of elder Rev. Tenney. This man always has such great pearls of wisdom to share. One must admire his insight and the excitement he brings with it. Thanks!

Praise the Lord Bishop Tenney was as he lived a true pioneer as well as his lovely wife. Now at peace with the Lord. Knowledge of God was truly with him. Loved the fact they truly lived Holy. This is what the world needs to be born again. Such a great general in the army of the Lord

What a difference when apostolic preachers get up to the pulpit and preach the anointing of the holy ghost is upon these men, no doubt........ wow! How other people from different churches cant see this or feel this is beyond me.
You can understand his character by what he has revealed to his prophets in times past. What you said about us be flesh and bones is true, and it is also true he is infinite and all powerful, beginning and end, and it is impossible to fully understand him, but it is not impossible to know him. What you said about going to a big church and feeling God's presence, yeah that's beautiful in all, but it's more than praise he wants, he wants your life. He wants to use us, we are his chosen people.
You gotta remember, I went to a UPC for SEVERAL years (like almost 20 years). It was said to be one of the MOST powerful Churches within the UPC. And, I don't think that ANYBODY can "understand" God and who he is. That would be pretty arrogant to even THINK that you could. We are mere finite human beings. And, he is INFINITELY powerful. Yes, He does talk to us. And, we can hear what he says (if we just listen). But, to think that we can UNDERSTAND God and everything about him - not possible!!!!!

But to say that we cannot understand anything Him right now is not accurate.

And, the funny thing about it is that they will tell u, "Oh, if ur prayers aren't being answered, then try this." Then the person says, "Well, I did try that." "Well, try this then ... ." And, they just KEEP coming up w/DIFFERENT things u can try. And, NONE of it works. I am NOT saying that God don't answer prayers (because I believe He does). But, it don't have ANYTHING 2 do w/HOW EMOTIONAL U GET. U r just higher than a kite & probably FEEL like ur prayers r getting answered more.
Also, there's a difference than getting a Godly high than a drug high. A God high is divine and can change lives for the better, heck, it can even change the world! However a drug high lets the door open for spiritual (demonic) entities to enter... Trust me, I've seen it with my own 3rd eye! But as for prayer, Read Mark 11:22 and 24, "Have faith in your Father. When you pray KNOW that the things you need to do the will of your Father, have already been given to you." Emotional prayer will help.
There r even verses where it says that u can BEAT ur slaves so long as he gets back up off the ground & does NOT die. In other words, u can beat him TOTALLY SENSELESS, but as long as u don't KILL the slave, u r "OK" with God. There is another verse where it says, "Take thy little ones & DASH THEM UP AGAINST THE STONES" (or something to that effect). I just cannot stomach that kind of stuff & do NOT believe that this could POSSIBLY be the "Word of God." Men wrote it. Men inspired it. God bless!

I had to REPEAT myself about how that language is a a living thing (and how that it evolves) because I don't think YOU got it the first time around. You seemed to ignore everything I said about it. I said very clearly that our CURRENT classification of animals has NOT been around forever (and that it has EVOLVED and CHANGED). What part of that did you NOT get?!!?
When I was attending a UPC Church, I was probably thee MOST emotional person there. Or, close to it. I would pray day and night. Bawling my head off, speaking in tongues. Or, maybe I would just be shouting and dancing all over the place. The point is, though, that I was EXTREMELY emotional. And, I felt what I thought was "God" ALL OVER ME. (tbc)
And, I had no more prayers answered than before when I was in a different denomination. I don't see ANYWHERE in the Bible where it says to get just as emotional as possible and that He will grant us our wishes (the more emotional we become). That is something your Pastor has told you (not found in the Bible).
The scriptures cannot be understood with your natural understanding it is Jesus Christ himself who is the Creator, Saviour and God off all that can open your understanding so that you can understand the scriptures. Understanding the Bible which is the WORD OF GOD has nothing to do with scholarly knowledge, wisdom or eloquence. So that thing about christian scholar walking out on RELIGION is nothing at all. It just reinforce that man's knowledge and mind is finite.

There are a LOT of gluttons in the UPC. They can't do anything else. Everything's considered wrong or immoral. So, they eat, eat, eat. Or, have sex, sex, sex and have more and more children (sometimes children they can't take care of). Gluttony was not part of the Ten Commandments, though. Just thought I'd let ya know. You are clearly offended by upc! Did you have a relationship with JESUS? Are did you just go thur emotions? Stop judging people about obesity! The problem is sometimes a genetic disorder (insulin resistance). There are many thin people in the upc as well! Jesus will heal your confusion! MY brother David turn to Jesus and be healed! I too battle confusing things! Dont do that ! Enjoy the positives of the word!
The Bible calls a bat a bird. It's NOT a bird at all. It's a mammal. And, language is a living thing. It is constantly evolving and changing. So, they did have a word to describe these things. Or, they could have created a word to describe it. But, didn't. There are TONS of contradictions. I have studied the contradictions & errors extensively. And, they r STILL contradictions and errors. That fact don't change just because you want it to. Believe me, I was NOT wanting to see the errors, either
You obviously do not understand God & who he is. You try to understand God's power through science and logical thinking, which in fact are going to get you nowhere with God. Yes it was written by men, but given inspiration by the one and only GOD. Do some serious studying and you will see numerous prophecies that no other "holy" book you can compare to. The Bible is truly God's word and the truths are everlasting, and find ONE so called contradictions, study on it, and then tell me what you find. God bless
You can MAKE the Bible say whatever it is that you WANT it to say, too. That's WHY there are sooooooooo many DIFFERENT denominations within Christiandom. They ALL read the SAME Bible. But, they somehow come up with DIFFERENT interpretations of what those verses say. Same verses. Different interpretations. And, please don't tell me, "Oh, if they only had the Holy Ghost, GOD would give them the 'right' interpretation." That's hogwash! Even people who have the HG have DIFFERENT interpretations
Actually, I'm not bitter @ all (except 4 when I run into people who r supposedly "Christian" & they do nothing but judge others). Yeah, I do have a problem w/that. And, guess what? God has a problem w/that, too. The Bible says, "Judge not, lest YE be judged." It then goes on to say that u shall be judged with the SAME judgement by which u judge others. So, you better be careful when you even THINK about judging another person. And, just so ya know, I have forgiven. But, it's IMPOSSIBLE 2 4get.
Do you NOT know that human language is an EVOLVING thing. They could have MADE UP a word that would describe a bat as being a mammal (and NOT a bird). There is a HUGE difference, you know, between a bird and a mammal. And, if you called a bat a bird, then you would make a HUGE mistake in doing so. Just like the word, "gay". It used to mean, "being happy and giddy." Now, it also means "someone who was born attracted to the SAME sex." Language evolves! And, they COULD have come up with a word ....
You know what? Maybe gluttony is not part of the TEN COMMANDMENTS, but it IS considered a SIN in other parts (verses) of the Bible. So, please don't say that gluttony is NOT a sin (because, according to the Bible, it IS a sin). And, these preachers tell us what to do ALL the time. But, yet, we cannot say what THEY are doing wrong? THEY are un-touchable?!!!? THEY can do whatever it is that they WANT to do and nobody can tell THEM to change their ways? OK, whatever you say ....
How r u any different than a drug addict? I mean, seriously, think about this. U get higher than a kite during church services. U work (& the leaders of the church work) on GETTING U HIGH. U get what is basically WITHDRAWAL symptoms IF u stay away from church 2 long. U want that high. U crave that high. U will pray @ home all throughout the day (2 get that SAME feeling - or close 2 the same feeling - that u had while AT church). The music, worship, preaching - nothing but a DRUG.
They SAY that "nothing's impossible with God." However, the REALITY of things says something MUCH different. I see all sorts of things that people pray about and pray for and their prayers go TOTALLY unanswered. And, you can't just keep using that same ol' excuse: "Maybe it wasn't GOD'S will that this happen." That gets tiring after a while. It really does. That Bible was written by MEN. Not by God, Himself. Has TONS of errors and contradictions in it. Just can't believe it anymore. Sorry!
