Wimby 2019 still lives in my head rent free. Not just the match points; 1st set was on his racket in the tiebreak. Had set point in the third set. Honestly could have beaten Djokovic in straights if he just focused and didn't play passively and made errors in crucial points.

That French Open one, with Coria, it just makes me want to cry, man deserved it. You don't deserve anything in sports, obviously, but man, I wish.

Such a shame, Federer honestly could have finished with anywhere between 25-30 slams

I would not go that far, i would say ao 2005, uso 2009, wimby 2019 were the real misses. Uso 2011 is a tossup, i am not sure he would have taken out nadal, keep in mind roger never really had an answer to nadal until 2017 when he fixed his backhand

@@rmurali83 that’s fair, Nadal dominated him on harcourts from 09-14. Some other missed opportunities to me were 2011/2018 Wimbys blowing 2-0 set leads. 2015 USOpen. Yes I know it was a 4 setter, but Roger let so many BP chances slip away. 2014 wimby was another classic, coming back from 2-5 in the 4th set to force a 5th. 2011 RG he had Rafa down 2-5 in the 1st set with a set point. That could have been a memorable match if he were able to close out that set. I know you can make the case for every player, just as a Fed fan, looking back it’s hard to believe he didn’t win more of these close matches.

@@MrCSInyfan1000 fair point. He is just not clutch enough. Frankly it has to do with his game itself, a great player like him should see within 7-8 points if his A game has slipped for a few hours and needs to grind a bit. But rather his style of playing is one where he has either accepted defeat when things dont go his way or he goes for broke. To me thats what cost him dearly.

Such a shame Federer won 20 slams. Never watched a player so mentally weak have such success in this sport

If Evans won that match point then Djokovic would've won another grand slam

Still don't know how fed didn't win, actually think this retired him

Yeah. It wasn't just the match points on his serve. Was serving for it in the 1st set tiebreak; had set point in the third set, easily could have beaten Novak in straights tbh if he was mentally stronger. Just played too passively at some points and too many errors.
