@@williammountfield8508 P. Domingo fell, tripping over a chair, during a performance of Pagliacci in the late 1970s. He continued singing...It is somewhere here on YT.
When I first saw the title, I thought that the tenor was going to have a voice crack, but then his recovery from falling just made me realise he didn’t fail👍
FIRST OF ALL - WHO TF thought that little skinny tiny chair gone hold that 200lbs man? I suspect a foul play. Secondly - BRAVO to the tenor who finished it off strong!
Many years ago, around 1992/3, I saw "Tosca" with Placido Domingo on tv and he was running down a ramp and fall. Fortunately , he wasn't singing and didn't get hurt. He quickly stood up and followed his business. What a surprise! At the moment I didn't know if it was an accident or a part of the act because Domingo was so calm. But I think it was an accident.
You know, I hate when people focus on theatre/musical/musical theatre fails because it ruins the accepting nature of what theatre's like and undermines the performers base ability and their improvising skills, which are emphasised as being your saving grace in performance. But this. This is truly a highlight of that beautiful "I don't give a shit, I'mma just continue the song like nothing happened" mentality. The show must go on, I guess.
O que não se faz por amor pelo que se faz? Um vencedor nato!!!! Se teve algum entorce ou coisa pior só Deus sabe....saúde e bênçãos ao grande tenor!!!👋👋👋👋👋
It wasn't his fault the chair broke. But on the contrary, he was very good at not letting the music stop, and he sang the high note even lying on the floor.
