One person died and one was injured near Lake Tahoe after an avalanche at a major ski resort. This comes as tens of millions are still reeling for a monstrous winter storm that hit much of the country. NBC News’ Emilie Ikeda has the latest and Al Roker has our forecast.

Not just you. And I'm far from reeling as they say. I tuned up my slow blower last week when I saw it was potentially coming, cleared off my property after the storm and enjoyed a hot cup of tea with honey and lemon when I was finished. I do feel for those who lost their power for extended periods though. Having a generator is a good idea they are not overly expensive given what people spend on clothes, gadgets, etc

So, same amount of seasonal rains. It's the same rain patterns😮 that have been going on over the past 135 years. The other thing that hasn't changed, but obviously needs to, is the old main drainage systems in these quickly growing cities and Suburbs.

Then they need proper infrastructure to provide road treatments and trucks to handle any plowing. It isn't difficult, it's simply about those in charge pocketing the money instead of using it properly.

24 tornadoes? Please!! Avalanche!!! Our houses in the Caribbean are built to withstand hurricanes nothing like the dry wall powdered patricians there it’s pure solid concrete 80% if our roves are decked ( concrete). So I’m wire safe in my 4 story mansion.

10 years is just a blink of an eye in terms of climate. You do realize that the *minimum* time frame that climatologists use to study climate is 30 years? Thats just the minimum, in reality, climate really can studied in centuries or even longer times. A few years of wild weather means very little in the grand scheme of things. In many ways, climate is actually an alien concept. Its an attempt to study weather over long periods of time. In a very real sense, we humans don't experience climate, we experience weather. Just imagine asking someone, "so how's the weather been over the last 30 years?"
